I watched Santa Sangre a long time ago, maybe twenty years back, when I was just some young cinephile.

It was entertaining and stuck with me. That’s about it. Just nakaradan and silly.

Maybe I'll give Holy Mountain a watch sometime.

Just a mess of random symbols and nonsense.

Perhaps Holy Mountain is more elemental and actually better—less goofy and chaotic. Who knows, maybe I'd actually like it..

What he actually produced wasn't Dune; it was just a film featuring characters inspired by Dune, twisted through his own eccentric lens.

And clearly, an accurate adaptation is possible, considering the film released last year followed the book quite faithfully.

You follow the plot of the book, but then half the thing just turns into pure philosophy and internal monologues where characters spend all their time stuck in their own heads. It’s one of those stories that feels impossible to adapt into a movie without making it completely unwatchable.

The guy's a total fraud. I really hope we don't have to see every single Duno discussion dragged back to him...

The way he built his version of the world of mountains is fantastic and holds plenty of merit. I wouldn't call him a fraud; he's more of an eccentric.
