...I'm looking at the ratings, they take PayPal, everything seems legit enough... anyone actually tried this before?

😕

Look, if you buy it, you're basically just buying a license key that might work—or might not—and honestly, it’s probably just a matter of how long it takes before Microsoft blacklists it. Don't bother unless you're getting the actual box and the physical disc.

Hi everyone—does anyone have a smart way to get Windows 7 to handle two network interfaces simultaneously? Here’s my setup: I need to stay connected to the internet via Wi-Fi while using a physical Ethernet connection to access specific hardware I manage, like uploading software directly to devices. My plan is to keep a static IP on the Ethernet side and let the Wi-Fi handle DHCP or whatever 🙂

Just a heads-up: I’m not looking for links regarding bridging or connection sharing; that won't work for my specific needs 🙂

Hey.. just wondering if I actually need to install drivers after setting up Windows 7? I heard it handles most of it automatically once you run the Windows updates, so is that enough? 🤷

Maybe Windows 7 comes with enough built-in drivers that you won't even need to bother with a disc. I guess it saves some trouble.

Just picked up this laptop
Should I go with the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7?

Greetings to everyone... I find myself in need of some assistance 😬

I am currently running Windows 7 32-bit, and my AMD driver was behaving quite erratically, so I decided to purge it entirely using Driver Sweeper. Now, the display resolution appears strangely enlarged and frankly quite hideous. I have attempted to install a fresh driver downloaded from the internet, but the installation simply refuses to proceed. What is the proper course of action here?

So, what exactly does it say when you try to install that new driver? I mean, have you actually tried just grabbing it through the Manager 🙂

Look, just go into your display settings and check what your current resolution actually is. You might have accidentally lowered it yourself, which would explain why the image looks so lousy right now.

And honestly, what's the point? Why on earth would you need some sweeper tool?? Just install the driver directly over the old one,

and do it so you aren't wasting space on your C: drive with old drivers that aren't even being used anymore. Thank God we don't have to deal with them piling up every single year, but you should still manually delete his folder

C:/AMD/Support

And obviously, I don't mean the folder containing the driver you're actually using this month. 🙂

What’s actually the point of going 64-bit? Am I gonna see worse performance if I just stick with 32

I think you misheard that one. Windows 7 really just provides basic, generic drivers to get things running. You absolutely have to install specific drivers for your graphics card—whether you grab them directly from the manufacturer's website or let Windows Update handle it.

....Help me out here!!!! It just won't upload—or better yet... when I try to get SP1 installed, I keep getting this "WindowsUpdate_800736B3" and "WindowsUpdate_dt000" error bullshit. What am I supposed to do???

In my setup, I need to connect to the internet via Wi-Fi while staying on the corporate network through a physical cable. Additionally, I use an Ethernet connection to interface with some niche hardware devices I manage or to upload software to them. I need the Ethernet connection to always use a static IP, while the Wi-Fi handles DHCP or whatever standard protocol applies. 🙂

Just a heads up: please skip the suggestions regarding bridging connections or sharing internet access; that’s not what I’m looking for here. 🙂

It seems like everyone just uses their computers and Windows 7 for scrolling social media at home, yet nobody actually intends to use them for real work.

Every time I attempt to install Service Pack 1, I'm greeted by those lovely "WindowsUpdate_800736B3" and "WindowsUpdate_dt000" error messages. It’s quite a headache. Does anyone actually know what the fix is for this?

I’ve been seeing quite a bit of chatter lately regarding this specific error, and frankly, it’s the kind of technical headache that makes one question why we bother with automated updates at all. We're looking at a situation where Windows Update throws a fit—specifically that `WindowsUpdate_800736B3` error—and suddenly, everything grinds to a halt. It’s frustrating, predictable, and entirely unnecessary. From what I can gather, when you hit this wall, the system isn't just being picky; it's essentially stumbling over its own feet during the installation process. It’s similar to trying to run a high-end simulation on an outdated workstation only to have the whole thing freeze because a single driver decided to take a nap. If you find yourself stuck in this loop, my suggestion is to stop fighting the update interface directly. It rarely listens. Instead, I’d recommend diving into the system files themselves. Running a standard SFC scan or checking the integrity of the component store via DISM usually clears up the digital cobwebs that cause these specific hiccups. It’s a bit like clearing out a clogged drain in an old house in Chicago—it’s tedious work, but if you don't do it, you're just going to be dealing with a mess for much longer. It’s worth noting that some users have suggested that certain third-party security suites can interfere with the handshake between the OS and the update servers. If you've recently installed something heavy-duty, like a new firewall from Norton or McAfee, try disabling it temporarily. It might just be that your security software is being a little too vigilant for its own good, treating a legitimate system update like a suspicious intruder. In short: don't panic, don't keep clicking "Retry," and definitely don't assume the hardware is failing. It’s almost certainly a software logic error that can be smoothed over with a little manual intervention.

Noah Sanchez39 said:The page mentions both TurboV (for overclocking) and Asus ep (for managing power consumption). I'm sensing some kind of "conflict" happening within the BIOS—maybe try hunting down the relevant settings and resetting them back to their factory defaults 🤔

I haven't actually done any overclocking myself

Here’s a screenshot http://img687.imageshack.us/f/greka1.png/—just click it if you want to see the full version
I have a feeling this error might be tied to this http://img138.imageshack.us/i/greke.png/

Do you guys happen to have this software installed?
What's the point of these programs anyway?
If I just wipe them out to see if things improve, is that going to be risky?

And is this error message I'm seeing actually dangerous??

I could really use some help here
Thanks

,..it won't work—tried that fix from Microsoft, but the upload just hangs,
maybe it’s because of that WindowsUpdate_800736B3 mess.. since in
those threads they're all talking about fixes for Windows Update_00000646,
but mine just dies at 35 percent—total freaking nightmare..
It's nothing but tutorials, feels like a complete waste of time—I really wanted to
get this uploaded so I could finally see Service Pack 1 after I reboot..

..I really thought I was finally gonna be done with this headache,..
..that I'd actually be able to jump on the Wi-Fi like my neighbors without worrying
about catching some damn virus..

Maybe give your system a good deep clean with these tools—you can grab the standalone installers whenever you're ready. Also, just for a second, try disabling UAC and see if that changes anything.

I think this error is related to this: http://img138.imageshack.us/i/greke.png/

Do you guys have that software installed?
What are these programs even for?
Can I just delete them and see what happens, or is that risky?

Is this error message I'm seeing actually dangerous??

Please help.
Thanks.

I’d say those errors are tied to those Microsoft utilities you can just uninstall without a second thought; if things go sideways, you can always reinstall them from the disc that came with your PC.🙂
I don't have them because I don't use Microsoft hardware.
Those little apps are just for overclocking or managing your PC's power consumption.
IMHO, the error isn't indicating anything dangerous.😉
