If anyone knows of a solid deal out there, please shoot me a DM—everything we're finding lately is just way too overpriced...

Well, it’s only natural for a club to stand by its supporters, and honestly, there would probably be two or three of us heading out to Lisbon... 🙄

And who’s stopping us from being those 300 people?
Most of those folks only travel for games like this once every few years anyway. It’s not like they’re dropping $250 or $300 on a flight when you can fly straight out of Chicago.

What do you even mean by "too expensive" for the quarterfinals of a major European tournament?
Anyone with half a brain knows you can fly to plenty of different spots for $150 or $200. Honestly, you could probably rent a car or grab a van for that kind of cash.
And if you've got three or four days to spare... you can still find flights out of Chicago for maybe $250 to $300.

What I mean is, the club should basically foot the bill for fifteen private charters for all of us. ☕

If you've actually got some guts, you could fly to way more places for $150 or $200—or even just drive or grab a van for that kind of cash.
And if you don't have 3 or 4 days to spare... you can still find flights out of Chicago for maybe $250 to $300.

Look, when you're living on a student budget, every single dollar counts. 😁 But man, I already booked my flight 👍

If you're on a student budget, you can easily make it there by foot in about five days 😬
or just grab a scooter and knock it out in three...

Honestly, you’re better off hunting for flights through Expedia:
Right now, things look decent: Venice to Lisbon on March 13th or 15th—around $1350, or if you go the 12th/15th route, it's $400
. Then there's Pisa: March 13th to 16th is sitting at $1150, or looking at 12th/15th, it's $417
.

Look, prices shift constantly based on demand—it’s just how the algorithm works. When you finally sit down to book, make sure you have all your info and credit cards ready to go so you don't lose the deal. Ideally, try to pull the trigger late at night or super early in the morning when the rates tend to dip a bit.😉
And for heaven's sake, don't go straight to the airline's site. Use 👍Expedia instead to find the better deals.

The reality is that most of those three people probably only show up for games like this once every few years anyway, so I doubt they’d even blink at dropping $300 or $350 on a flight when you can fly out of New York City so easily...

I was thinking more along the lines of 3,000 die-hard fans, not just a handful of fair-weather hangers-on who have never even stepped foot in the stadium... You make a fair point, though I honestly have no idea how many people fit that description. Those of us who are there for basically every single game are fewer in number, but we're certainly feeling the financial strain much more heavily...

analogheron19 said:figuratively speaking: that the club should pay for 15 charter flights for all of us

I didn't mean that the club should be footing the bill for everyone's travel, but if they could at least organize a few charter flights departing from New York City, it would go a long way... I wasn't implying that the organization owes us anything, per se, but rather that there really ought to be better cooperation between the fans and the front office, which unfortunately seems impossible right now...

You’ve got a point there, though I honestly have no clue how many of those people actually exist. As for those of us who show up to basically every game? There aren't as many of us, sure, but we're definitely feeling the financial sting a lot more deeply..

I wasn't suggesting they should foot the entire bill for the flights. I just meant, say, organizing a few charter flights out of New York City would go a long way. I wasn't implying the club owes us anything; it's more about having better cooperation, which—let's face it—is pretty much impossible right now..

Regular commercial flights out of New York City are cheaper than charters anyway. So, logically...

They used to be the first ones to sell out, yet now the North section is the slowest to move.

Despite everything that’s happened, I have to say... this actually catches me off guard.

The reason everything moves at such a snail's pace is simply because he's the only one you can't just snap up online; that's the whole damn issue. The North side was sold out before the South side even got a chance, and it wasn't because they were more appealing or offered a better deal—the prices are identical.
While the rest of the stands sell out in an hour or two because you can grab a ticket with just two clicks of a mouse, if you want seats in the South, you're stuck standing in line for hours unless you've already secured a season pass.
