Thanks for the tip.
Sent it off, and it took four or five emails just to get a response. Then, when they finally replied, it was in Spanish. What the hell? 🙄 I suppose if you can't find someone who actually speaks English to handle their support... well, forget about it.
The explanation? Apparently, due to their current workload and a recent market expansion, they aren't able to process my request quickly, and they apologize for the inconvenience? They’re asking for patience. 🙂
Typical offshore call centers...

Bwin has been nothing but trouble lately... I sat around waiting for a payout through PayPal from January 26th until February 20th—all for a measly amount.

slywalker said:I’ve got a massive headache on my hands. About a week ago, Bet365 froze the funds in my account, and I’ll lay out exactly how we ended up in this mess.

So basically, my old man was betting with them just for fun, managed to pull in some decent cash, and decided he wanted to withdraw it. Now, he’s an incredibly old-school, skeptical guy who isn't about to just hand over his sensitive ID documents to some random entity on the internet—which, obviously, is what you need to do to process a withdrawal—so I suggested, and now I’m kicking myself for it, that we just move the money through a poker account instead.

I’d heard stories from guys in the poker scene saying they did this all the time, so I had absolutely no clue it was strictly against the rules (clearly).

Here’s the play: he intentionally lost chips so I could pick them up, then I tried to cash out from my account, but Bet365 caught onto the movement and froze those transferred funds right then and there. We’re talking a significant amount of money here.

They refused to release the cash until we provided a coherent explanation for the activity, and after playing along for a bit, they finally accepted our story.

Then they told me they were starting a verification process on my account before they could proceed with the rest of the processing (whatever that actually entails)... it’s been six days since then, and there hasn't been a single word from them; nothing is moving at all.

They aren't responding to emails, and their customer service department just keeps parroting the same scripted nonsense that an "investigation is ongoing," claiming they can't say how long it will take or even what the investigation involves, etc., etc.

Naturally, we are incredibly stressed out right now, just wishing we knew what was going to happen to that money. Some people are telling me there's zero chance we see it again, though if you look at the fine print—which I didn't bother reading until later—it says they have the discretionary right to hold funds, but it doesn't necessarily mean they *have* to.

So, yeah, I’m sitting here every single day refreshing my inbox, praying for some kind of update, but nothing ever happens.

The amount is substantial, which just makes the uncertainty and the sheer anxiety even worse...

Does anyone have any advice or similar experiences? Please help. 🤷

After two and a half weeks of intense stress, endless waiting, fighting with chat support, and sending useless emails into the void—things only started moving once I threatened them with a legal team and a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights regarding discrimination based on nationality 🤣 things moved lightning fast. Within ten minutes, they cleared the account verification and the investigation that had somehow dragged on for two and a half weeks for no apparent reason.

In the end, they returned the money back to the original account used by my father, so it went straight back to the source. 👍

Why on earth would anyone even bother placing bets with these absolute bottom-feeders? 🙂

I personally never had an issue with Bwin, but lately they’ve totally tanked and dropped down to the level of those basic UK bookies. I opened maybe five or six accounts there, but the limits have basically been stuck at $50-$100 for pretty much everything except FIFA matches and the top five leagues.

I used to play poker and bet there back in the day—payouts through PayPal usually hit within 10 hours. But ever since they merged with the Democratic Party, the whole experience has gone downhill fast. Avoid them at all costs!

I'm wondering about how taxes work when you get winnings from overseas...
Like, if I win a few thousand dollars a month and they send it over.
Do I have to pay taxes on that?!

Betting online through foreign books isn't exactly legal, though it’s definitely a bit of a gray area.
If the IRS ever caught wind of it, you wouldn't just be looking at taxes—you'd be facing a massive penalty.

Just so I don't completely derail this thread, does anyone here have actual experience with how long a bank transfer takes through DraftKings?

Usually about 2 to 3 days, at least that's been my experience...

If the IRS actually got their hands on this, they wouldn't just be looking for taxes—they’d be handing out penalties too.

Show me the law that says online betting at foreign bookmakers is prohibited. 😂
And why on earth would I pay a penalty?
I prefer betting online because it's just faster. The selection is way better, and if you actually win, the cash is sitting in your account within five minutes of the game ending.
I want to pay my taxes so everything stays above board, but I'm curious about the specific wording of the law.

Honestly, I’m leaning towards betting online—it’s just way faster, you know? The selection is massive compared to what you find locally, and if you actually hit a winner, the cash is sitting there ready to go within five minutes of the final whistle. It beats waiting around forever.
Look, I’m all for paying my taxes—honestly, I want everything to be totally above board—but I’m really trying to wrap my head around the specific legal wording here. Does anyone actually know the exact provision in the law?

🤦

Maybe you could try being a little less rude to start with? 🤷

Department of the Treasury said:X. INTERNATIONAL GAMBLING SITES

Article 68.

The rules are pretty simple—here's what you can't do:

If you’re placing bets on foreign gambling sites while physically standing on American soil, you’ve gotta be careful—that actually falls under the jurisdiction of the law.

So, I was thinking about that whole second bit—you know, the part about gathering up all those roles back here in the States just to get a shot at playing in some overseas sweepstakes. It’s a bit of a process, isn't it? Kind of a strange loop to be navigating.

3. Selling, holding onto, business transfers, leasing, advertising, or any kind of promotion involving foreign scratchers and lottery tickets within the United States.

Check out the legal breakdown regarding gaming regulations here: http://www.businessforum.com/laws/gaming_law.asp

It’s pretty simple, really—you can't exactly claim something is legal when it's clearly against the law. 🤷
He’d be facing a penalty for breaking the law. 🤷

Just a slap, and then another slap.

There’s absolutely nothing explicitly stated saying online betting is banned!
Plus, you only pay taxes on winnings over $4,500.
Since the US doesn't even have a dedicated cybercrime division yet—and honestly, I don't see any crime in placing online bets (the only real crime is match-fixing, which we aren't doing)—so please, just stop it.

Well, looks like none of those options are working out -.- so I guess I'll just have to go ahead and pick up this Cash voucher from $17, though honestly, I don't even need that much credit over at BetMGM. What am I supposed to do with the leftover cash?

Has anyone actually tried using a Cash voucher on BetMGM yet? Because if this thing actually works, it’s an absolute game changer 👍

Which BetMGM are we talking about?
If it's this one https://www.wwin.eu/sport/, the layout looks just like SS.
Oh, wait, I see the list of physical locations now.
Aren't there ATMs there?

Just a quick heads-up—I got an email from DraftKings yesterday offering a 100% deposit bonus up to $100.
I haven't placed a bet with them in a while—maybe that's why they're reaching out, who knows—but anyway, check your inboxes; they might be sending this to everyone.

I'm planning to take advantage of this—it would be a waste not to. 😁
