Well, it really depends on what you're actually trying to achieve here. If you're looking at PWM applications, Iโ€™d lean toward an isolatorโ€”even though, honestly, you probably won't notice any tangible difference in performance.

Hey there.

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on whether consuming protein powder after its expiration date is actually dangerous. Specifically, Iโ€™m curious if it's genuinely harmful to consume if it's been stored properly and hasn't visibly gone bad yet...

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance!

Look, I eat moldy cottage cheese, so Iโ€™d probably just power through it too... though I have to ask, how on earth did you let your protein expire? ๐Ÿ™„
Next time you find yourself with extra whey lying around, just give me a shout, okay? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Iโ€™m placing an order for some whey from Pro Nutrition in a few days. If anyone wants in, let me know. We can split the shipping costs and save some money by buying together.๐Ÿ˜‰

That isn't quite it... soy tends to have a somewhat different effect on men...๐Ÿ˜‰

Iโ€™m standing at about 6'1" and weighing roughly 163 lbs, and honestly, I'm struggling to pack on any real mass just by eating normally. I'm trying to hit that 175-185 lb range, so I was wondering which of these proteinsโ€”maybe MEGA MASS, some Gold Standard Whey, or something else entirelyโ€”would actually help me get there.

You gave me a bit of a laugh here๐Ÿ˜
Forget the mega mass immediately; just take 30-40 grams of whey along with 60 grams of glucose (grape sugar) after your workout...
Post your meal plan so we can actually tell if you're struggling to gain weight or if you're just not eating enough.๐Ÿ˜‰

So I gave the guys over at Pro Nutrition a call this morning to get my protein fix sent out, but they told me theyโ€™re totally wiped out. Apparently, their stock ran dry today and they won't have a new shipment coming in for a few weeks. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Now I'm stuck having to drop a ton of cash on those overpriced proteins again. ๐Ÿ‘Ž

Is it actually worth picking up micellar casein? Iโ€™ve never messed with it before, so I'm wondering if it beats out whey. If they both work, when does it actually make sense to go with the casein instead?

Casein digests at a crawl, so you'd probably want to take it right before hitting the sack or maybe use it as a meal replacement when you can't get a real bite in.

Micellar ๐Ÿคฃ Yeah, lookโ€”casein breaks down over a period of up to seven hours, so you'd typically drink it right before hitting the sack to keep your body fueled through the night. Or, you could just stick to a lean ๐Ÿ˜
protein source.

Question ๐Ÿ™‚
I know this isn't strictly on-topic, but since we're talking about protein, I figured I'd drop it here instead of cluttering up the board with a new thread.

Regarding a single mealโ€”is it actually better to stick to one source of protein, or does mixing them work just as well? Does it even matter?

I just finished some turkey and lean beef, which made me remember something my old trainer used to tell me years ago. He swore that if you're trying to cut weight, you should stick to just one protein source per meal.

True or false?

Thanks!! ๐Ÿ˜

Look, at the end of the day, youโ€™re going to lose weight regardless of whether you're mixing shakes or not. Honestly? Protein is probably the least of your worries when it comes to actually dropping pounds ๐Ÿ˜

Thanks... ๐Ÿ™‚

The issue is that my body has already adapted to constant protein supplementation, and honestly, without it... ugh. Itโ€™s just not hitting the same way it did a year ago when I first started incorporating it into my routine. Thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m askingโ€”does every single stimulus my body receives now feel like it's just hitting a wall... ๐Ÿ˜

So, I finally pulled the trigger today and picked up some wheyโ€”that stuff loaded with grape sugar...

Whatโ€™s actually the best way to mix this? Should I go with water, milk, maybe toss some fruit in there? Or does it honestly not even matter?

Look, I'm a total newbie here, and frankly, I don't have the patience to scroll through this entire massive thread to find an answer.

Hey there... I just started training and was wonderingโ€”what kind of supplements should I be looking into if I want to start seeing some muscle growth as soon as possible?

Go with water. Definitely don't use milk.

Weights, chicken, and oatmeal. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Beyond that, just some whey protein and glucose right after you hit the weights. Grab a scoop of whey and maybe 60 grams of glucoseโ€”you can find dextrose powder at a place like GNC or even a local health food store.

So, I spotted some 5lb tubs of GNC chocolate whey at my gym this morning $144. Iโ€™ve seen people online claiming their whole lineup is total garbage, but honestly, compared to brands like Gold's Gym or Optimum Nutrition, this stuff isn't even pricey. I really don't get why everyone makes such a big deal about their prices being too high ๐Ÿคท
