The second matchup might actually turn into a real dogfight, but looking at how things are going in the first one, there's no way Notre Dame can put up the 40 points they absolutely need if they want any hope of taking down Alabama.

College football always seems to have these weird rules. Starting this season, they decided that from the third overtime onward, it’s just 2-point conversions. Basically, one single play per team in overtime. It feels a bit like a penalty shootout in soccer. And yet, they kept going all the way to the 9th overtime.

I happened to catch the Tennessee - Alabama game last night—well, maybe "happened" is an understatement. My YouTube feed was blowing up with clips from American commentators, including Joel Klatt popping up on Colin Cowherd's show. Since Joel is such a sharp analyst for NCAA football, he actually predicted that Tennessee would beat Alabama. Colin kept poking fun at him, basically saying, "Are you kidding me? It's Alabama!" but Joel wouldn't budge on his take.
I saw the spread for Alabama sitting around -7, and I have to say, I wasn't so sure about that.
Last night, I was just scrolling through scores for everything—soccer, basketball, and even American football—when the Tennessee - Alabama score popped up: 28:20 at halftime. I decided to tune in to see what the hype was about, especially since QB Bryce Young is playing, and everyone is talking about him being the top pick in the next draft, even if I don't follow player prospects that closely.
Folks, what a spectacle! There were 102,000 people in those stands, and that brass band music was everywhere, moving left and right, just absolutely electric. The game couldn't have been any crazier. Alabama surged ahead, then Tennessee fought their way back. Constant momentum shifts on the field and on the scoreboard. With just 15 seconds left, it was tied 49:49. Alabama missed a FG, but it wasn't over yet. Tennessee managed two quick passes to get into FG range with just two seconds ticking away on the clock. Talk about tension! The Kicker took the shot, and the ball had this strange, wobbling spin in the air, but it sailed right through the uprights. The stadium absolutely erupted, and everyone rushed the field. They haven't beaten Alabama like this since 2006.
Honestly, there was more excitement in that one game than in three NFL games combined. You've got to hand it to Americans; they really know how to put on a show. I think I'll be keeping a close eye on more NCAA football from now on.

Yesterday might have been the best game since the 2018 Georgia - Cincinnati matchup, so I suppose it's lucky this was the first one you tuned into. 😁
I wouldn't take Cowherd too seriously. Those segments with Klatt are entertaining because he's been a guest for years (even before he became an analyst), but it feels a bit staged so Klatt looks smart and Cowherd looks silly just to drive those clickbait views.🤣

Honestly, he’s easily one of the better entertainers they have on the air. The TCU fairy tale finally hit a wall last night, and man, it was a rough landing. The Bulldogs absolutely demolished them 65:7.😲😲
By the way, Georgia managed to clinch the title for the second year running. It’s wild seeing how things shook out—Alabama didn't even make the playoffs, and even Clemson, who usually cruises into the postseason every single year, is looking a bit lackluster lately compared to their past seasons.
