How many inches are those 50 pieces for $17? I was checking at Target, and they have 50 pieces of $30, but those ones are only 5 inches

Steven Wilson70 said:The girls mentioned you could find cheap bows over in Canada, but I'm not totally sure! I picked up 50 of them in NYC (they ship whenever you need them) for $17!! Now some of my friends living nearby are making them for me too—not pre-made, though, they actually shape them by hand themselves!! 🙂

Those pre-made bow packs from the Canada corridor come in sets of 10 for $2, maybe around $2.75 if I remember right! My godmother used them this weekend. They even have silk organza options!!

I was wondering if anyone might know a girl in Indianapolis who’s actually decent at makeup? I need someone reliable for an upcoming event. 🙂 Victoria won't be in Indianapolis on that day anyway 😢

Wait, so who's actually in charge of the bride if she’s an only child? 🤔 🤔 🤔

If you don't have siblings to watch your back, even your closest friends might just sell you out—and honestly, that’s exactly how some girls operate.

If you're looking for vintage car clubs, there are groups over in Des Moines, Indianapolis, and Mishawaka—depending on which city you actually need. If it's the Des Moines crowd you're after, I actually know the club president personally, so I could easily ask him whatever questions you have. You might want to do a little digging online first; they have their own forum, something called "Oldschool."

For my husband: I didn't make it any further than Louisville this weekend. I spent the whole time scouting and searching for wedding supplies, but honestly—nothing. It was my first time heading that way, so maybe I just lacked the local knowledge to find what I needed. I’m heading out toward the outskirts on Saturday, so I’ll put together a list of prices for you all then.

I’m also curious about the boys' stuff—you know, things like suspenders, little pillows, and all that other wedding gear...

I'm not sure how young your little ones are, but Target actually has these adorable ballerina-style dresses. I picked some up for my daughters and they were absolutely precious! They’re basically just a camisole-style top with a skirt made of several layers of tulle, so you can adjust the fluffiness as needed. They come in white and pink, and they aren't breaking the bank—$33 that was the price last time I checked. Plus, they're much more versatile than those heavy, floor-length gowns.

To all my ladies living out in the Midwest, specifically around Des Moines or Indianapolis, I would highly recommend Ana Coric. She is truly fantastic at what she does; I also believe she charges $117 per person for full makeup applications including lashes, and the best part is that she actually comes right to your door. You can find her profile on Facebook under Ana Coric, and she even maintains her own professional website as an artist... I am actually planning on booking her 🙂

Finally starting my wedding prep, though I’m feeling the pressure. There are already a ton of bands mentioned on this forum and I still haven't picked one, even though the clock is ticking. I've been scrolling through videos online, but nothing is really hitting the mark... So far, I've seen Sax live (they're awesome) and the Slavonia Band (also great), but Sax feels a bit too modern for us. We’ll have a lot of older guests, so I’m worried they won't vibe with that style. As for the Slavonia Band, they're just way out of our budget—especially since we'd need to hire a second band to go with them. We don't want just traditional folk music; we want a full band plus the folk musicians, but that combo is pricey. Ideally, the band would play everything from rock to classic hits (think old-school legends, not cheesy stuff) and then we'd add the folk players. Anyway, any leads are welcome... thanks!

And when is the big day scheduled? Based on what you’re describing, I might suggest the Bolero Band out of Indianapolis, or perhaps the Viva Box Band, also from Indianapolis... Given your specific requirements, I suspect the Viva Box Band might actually be the better fit for you.🙂

Maybe consider Quatro Band!! Honestly, those guys are incredible musicians. Whether you want traditional folk, party hits, or anything else in between, just give them a setlist and they'll nail it. I was at a wedding once where they even sang in Canadian because the bride had some Canadian heritage!

We hired http://www.quattro-band-osijek.com/qbo-na-vjencanju/. That's their site, but you won't find any recordings on there. Based on our experience, the singer was great and they play just about everything. They're willing to learn whatever you need—they even picked up some Southern country tunes because they've played plenty of weddings down South. They've performed everywhere, really. Just a heads-up: you need to book them at least a year in advance, if not longer.

I put down a deposit on them back in October last year for our wedding this past September.

Who says older crowds don't dig a sax band? It’s actually the exact opposite. They know all those classic hits—even the international ones—that really take people back to their glory days.

You guys, I have some serious tea to spill!
So, basically, this singer from a local country band has been relentlessly bugging us, and after he finally heard who we hired for the music... well, he asked my brother who we went with. My brother told him we booked Sax, and let me tell you, the guy was absolutely stoked! He actually announced that he’s coming to our wedding and bringing his wife along because he thinks Sax is just incredible. Honestly, though, if he wants to turn our big day into one of his solo concerts, maybe he should just be officially invited to perform instead? If he’s going to act like he’s the main attraction at our wedding, he might as well get paid for it, right? 😂

I ended up hiring them too, and I think what you said is spot on. They were absolutely wonderful to work with, and I have nothing but good things to say about their performance! We actually put down a deposit back in June of last year just to secure them for this October. I feel pretty lucky that we managed to snag them!

We actually ended up booking The Beach Boys ourselves; we sat down for a meeting last Wednesday, met up with Daria and the band, and they seem like genuinely decent people, so we locked them in. So far, I have nothing but praise. I haven't had the pleasure of hearing them perform live yet, but based on what I’ve been listening to on YouTube—and the tracks the guys sent over—they sound fantastic. Plus, the referrals have been solid so far, which is always a relief. I truly don't think we're making a mistake here.😉

I was at that meeting as well! I still need to give them a quick call to officially confirm everything, but I’m feeling pretty optimistic. Fingers crossed we made the right call, because from what I can tell, they seem totally fine.👍

Anyone ever hired the San group from Des Moines for a wedding? Just wondering what they're like...
