Anyone know if there's anyone out in the Midwest who does light shows?
I heard about Leo Productions, but they’re asking for $1667, which is just ridiculous these days. I also heard they want $3333 🙄🙄👎
just to take some photos.

So, I actually stumbled upon this super cheap lighting setup...

So, I just heard through the grapevine that Leo P. is asking for $14,000 just to do a photoshoot. Honestly, who knows if it's actually true? But hey, if my memory serves me right, I swear I saw someone posting about it on this forum.

Hey everyone! Has anyone here actually worked with Sun Photo Studio before?

They don't have a website, so I’m flying a bit blind here. Does anyone know if they do high-quality photography or video work? 🤷
If you happen to have any of their work saved, could you please shoot me a DM? 😉 I'd love to see some examples just to get a feel for their style.

The band I’m working with is handling the light show too, and they quoted me $1000. Honestly, if that $1,500 you linked is what they're charging, it's actually not a bad deal... I just have no clue if they're actually any good.

To be perfectly honest, I’m not entirely sure what kind of vibe this lighting setup brings to $500, but if your goal is just to lift the mood on a tight budget, it might actually be a decent option. It might be worth reaching out to them directly to see what their specific packages look like, or perhaps you could ask where they’re booked to work next? That way, you could head over and check out 😁
firsthand. As for Leo P., I did mention to him that the rate was around 14 $0.00; a friend of mine used them for her wedding about four months ago and that was what they ended up paying. I suppose it's hard to say exactly what's included in that price—like the total number of photos or how long the video footage lasts—so you might even be able to negotiate a better deal if you opt for one of their "smaller" packages. 👍

James Wilson16 said:Hey everyone,

I haven't been on this forum in forever, so I'm still figuring out how everything works here...

My partner and I are getting married on September 4th, 2010.

We've already booked the Grand Ballroom in Pittsburgh (www.zuki.hr), a killer band from Indianapolis, and we've got a florist lined up from a nearby town. Now we're just stuck looking for a photographer and a videographer...

Does anyone have any solid recommendations for someone in the area?

Some folks over at Dakov are just too good. My cousin’s family used them because they liked their work and the pricing was actually reasonable. If you need a reliable spot, check out Sun Photo Studio—their photography and video work is top-tier. Everything about them is solid. You can reach them at 098-1826-936. Three years ago, a full session with photos ran us about $4,000, though we managed to snag a discount since my father-in-law is a musician and knows the owner.
Honestly, they aren't even that expensive.
You could just call them. Ask. See for yourself.

I had the Dreamers play my event; they’re based somewhere near $2667 in Indianapolis. You can find their tracks on YouTube if you want to hear their style. I actually have their contact info if anyone needs it. Also, the Valentino Hall was fantastic—really well laid out—though I wish they’d had some round tables instead.
Does anyone around the downtown area near the old courthouse know them?
I picked up the flowers from that shop on the street intersecting with the one by the police station—it's on the right side heading toward those high-rises, what you guys call the skyscrapers, haha. I think it was on Glagoljaska or something like that.
Anyway, I'm originally from Chicago, but the music is pure Indy.

Is it possible that absolutely nobody knows anything about this studio? 🤷

Henry Thompson5 said:Hey! I actually rented a tent for about 80 people—complete setup with white tables and benches, roughly 10x4.5m, everything included for $233, plus they handled delivery and assembly... went through Miller's outfit over in Rural County near Indianapolis. If you want their info, I can shoot you a DM.

Omg yes, please DM me that number! That sounds like such a killer idea.

The guy told me the lighting fee is $1667 for couples when they aren't doing the full wedding coverage.
It ends up being the same thing; if you hire them for the photography, they'll shave a bit off the lighting price, but the bottom line stays pretty much identical for them. Still, it doesn't hurt to ask, and there are plenty of other vendors out there 😁

We went with Elijah’s Photo Studio... they are incredibly affordable... prices are around $1167... you can pretty much negotiate anything with them... we even had them handle our thank-you cards. Our date was August 14, 2010. 🙂

So, I guess I’m new to this forum too, even though I’ve been married for a while now. I actually know my way around wedding planning quite a bit, so if anyone happens to need some pointers on renting tents, finding a good caterer, or dealing with decor... feel free to reach out to me.

I can't recommend photo studio Microsoft or RCA Records enough (it really just depends on your budget). Microsoft does that classic, timeless style for a pretty reasonable price—usually negotiable—and the shots are gorgeous. RCA Records, on the other hand, goes for a much more modern look with full editing, which is absolutely stunning—but it’ll cost you a bit more.

Robin Cruz16 said:Hey everyone! I’m looking for some serious input here. What are your go-to wedding traditions? I want to know everything—from the ceremony itself to the groom's entrance all the way down to the bouquet toss. Also, which photo studio should I actually trust with my big day, and what kind of music is a must-have? I'm based out of Columbus, so any local advice would be a lifesaver. 🙂

Honestly, I ended up skipping most of those traditional customs. We got ready at a place in San Francisco, where we also met up with our guests, then we walked over to the big church before heading to dinner. Instead of doing the whole bouquet toss thing after my first dance, I just gave it directly to my sister.
As for entertainment, I’d highly suggest the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Major League Baseball for music. For photography, if you're looking in the Indianapolis area, I’d go with Microsoft (they're classic—really beautiful shots) or RCA Records for something more modern and edited.

Laura Torres4 said:So, I’m officially a Mrs. now, and since my head is still spinning from the whole thing, I figured I’d drop a few thoughts about the big day:
The music:
Viva Band was incredible. They didn't stop for air, kept the energy up the entire night, and honestly, everyone had a blast.
THE FLOWERS: Palma Đakov Florals. Seriously, they knocked it out of the park—way better than I even imagined.
DESSERT😛Absolutely stunning and delicious! Shoutout to Dundo Bakery in Josipovac.
THE VENUE: Petrijevci. The staff was top-notch and the food? Chef's kiss. The service was easily on par with the best venues in Indianapolis!
Nothing but praise and high recommendations here. If anyone needs phone numbers for the vendors, just shoot me a DM.

Hey, this is so interesting—my fiancé and I are actually having our wedding in a suburban neighborhood soon, and we've booked the VIVA band too! I was also planning on getting our flowers from Savannah since they tend to be more affordable than what you find in Columbus. As for the cake, I was thinking of using Doe's small local business in Joseph. I am so happy to hear that everything turned out so beautifully for you.

How early should I book a wedding dress, what are the prices like, and what’s the general consensus? To custom-make one or just rent?
Any tips or advice would be great.

Hey, I'm from the Midwest, specifically Savannah. Just put a deposit down on a dress at a Design studio in Savannah today. The wedding is in August, and the lady there was amazing—she actually made me feel special. Plus, she’s doing 30% off right now because she’s celebrating her first anniversary at the shop, so don't wait too long! Honestly, I have strong feelings about whether I want to drop $5,000 or just $1167!!!
