Anyone know if that wedding expo in Indianapolis is actually happening from January 15th to the 17th... you know, this coming weekend at Hotel Osijek? I heard there's another one on February 12th in Indianapolis too, so now I'm just confused about which one is which. Any local ladies out there know the deal? If you've seen any flyers floating around, let me know 🙂))

I happened to catch an article in The Des Moines Register this past Saturday that laid out the full schedule for the upcoming expo,
and it looked something like this:
Friday kicks things off with the opening at 2 PM, followed by a fashion show at 6 PM, and then we wrap things up for the day at 8 PM.

On Saturday, doors open at 10 AM, with a fashion show and a tasting session for wedding cakes and pastries scheduled for noon. Then, at 3 PM, there's a floral workshop where you can pick up some tips on flower arrangements, followed by another fashion show at 5 PM.

Sunday starts at 10 AM as well, featuring a fashion show and cake tastings at midday, a special showcase for wedding hairstyles and makeup at 3 PM, and one last fashion show at 5 PM.

I really hope this helps everyone plan their visit!! 🙂

Hi everyone...
I'm currently on the hunt for a venue in a city like Indianapolis to host an event for about 150 to 200 guests... if anyone happens to have some recommendations or leads, I would be so incredibly grateful for the help... I happened to see the Crystal Ballroom recently and absolutely fell in love with the space, so if anyone has a contact number for them or any info at all, please let me know... thanks so much...

Hey everyone,

I’ve got a wedding coming up on July 31st out in Dakota, and right now we’re looking at about 550 guests—unless my parents decide to surprise me with more last-minute changes and give me a literal heart attack, lol 🙂
Anyway, I could really use some help picking out a few things:

- Videographers and photographers—I’m looking for top-tier talent. I want people who are young, innovative, actually know their craft, and are open to ideas (because apparently, I have plenty). I don't want someone following a tired template where every single wedding looks identical 🙂 Okay, fine, maybe I am being a bit picky, but I want mine to be special. Also, the groom doesn't speak much English, so if the crew is comfortable communicating in English, that would be a huge plus.

- Car decorations, bouquets, boutonnieres, etc.

- Floral arrangements for the venue, centerpieces, and stuff like that

I’ve almost got the Mountain ceremony sorted, including most of what I need (should be finalized within a month), and the venue decor and band are already booked.

Am I forgetting anything major here?!
Please help!

I did a little digging to help us out...

Katini Sweets $333 cake
Crown $33 per lb
Bagarić (Chepin) $20 per lb
Bos (Vinkovci/El Paso) approx $233 cake
Bagette (Đakov) $133 with whipped cream, $300 with marzipan.

Personally, I’d suggest the bakery run by Katarina vl. Ljilja Medved Ivankovo in Vinkovci—their pastries are incredible, and the cakes are just as good. Honestly, everything they make is delicious to me. A massive three-tier cake in whatever flavor you fancy is $233 (you won't be able to stop eating it!)...

If you're looking for photos and videos that are truly unique and stand out, I highly recommend Abbey Road Studios in Indianapolis. They are a bit pricier than others, but the shots look like they belong in a magazine and the video is incredible. They’ll even put together a nice highlight reel for you. For example, while they're filming outside, they might catch a bee landing on a flower or other little details and weave them perfectly into the edit.

My godmother does amazing makeup, but she lives in Washington, D.C. (though she's originally from Jacksonville), and she’s actually the one doing my makeup for a wedding. She’s fantastic—you look like you walked out of a pro studio, yet her rates are totally reasonable. I’m just not sure if she’ll be in Orlando/Jacksonville around the time your wedding is happening. Shoot me a private message if you want her info. You can look her up on Meta under Ksenia Ivancic Brkic to check out her portfolio.
Also, there's a great esthetician in Jacksonville named Marina; both she and her assistant do incredible work. They've done my makeup several times now and I've never once regretted it.

Do they have a website? I tried searching on Google, but nothing is coming up... thanks.

Got a wedding coming up early September and a buddy is playing for us. I need a bluegrass band for the daytime stuff—like when we pick up the bride and all that—who wouldn't mind rotating shifts with my friend for maybe 2 or 3 hours at a time. Honestly, everything I find is overpriced... they want $1,300 plus just for those few hours. That’s way too much for my budget right now. If anyone knows a group that would be down for this kind of setup at a reasonable price, let me know. Thanks!

Has anyone ever rented a white tent from that vendor out in a small town, USA? I'm looking for $667 a setup for 200 guests, including benches, tables, and catering supplies. The price seems reasonable enough, but I’d appreciate hearing about anyone's actual experience working with him. Please let me know.

I’m pretty new to this group, so please forgive me if I’ve posted this in the wrong thread!
So, my partner and I have finally started the slow process of planning our wedding. Does anyone happen to know much about those old-school Midwest traditions? All I can really remember from when I was just a little girl is us gathering outside the church and shouting, "Hey, best man—don't let that money bag burn!" 😁

I've been going to Marina for skin treatments for years, so when it came to choosing someone for my big day, I didn't hesitate to pick her. To be honest, I wasn't entirely sure how her makeup skills were (I'd actually wondered myself!), so I'm really glad you brought her up. She truly is excellent.
