lonepilot13 Kiara thanks for the reply. We actually booked them for our wedding—but honestly, I've never even heard them play live.
If anyone else has some intel on the Quattro band, please let me know!

I've heard they're actually pretty great, like, totally wild and throw an amazing party... I mean, I haven't ever actually listened to them myself, so I guess I just know what people say.

Thanks 🙂

Look, I haven't actually seen them live yet, but all my friends who've been to weddings they played at say they're great. Apparently, the guys are hilarious, always cracking jokes, and the singer actually gets out there on the floor to sing while everyone's dancing... Honestly, everything I've heard about them has been nothing but good stuff.

Good luck! 🤣🤣🤣

Does anyone happen to know anything about the Bolero band based out of Indianapolis? I'm curious, what are they actually like?

I was at a wedding back in October where they were playing, and they were actually pretty good. The guys are alright, they play well, and the singer has a great voice. They have their own page, so maybe you could check out some of the reviews from other people there.

I noticed they have a webpage, but there aren't really any videos posted so I can actually hear what they sound like... Kiara thanks for all your help 🙂 just tell me one more thing—did they know how to set the right mood, and did they tend to take long breaks during their sets? thanks
best regards

Kiara thanks, blueowl88 🙂 honestly, you just told me everything I already knew, haha... nothing new there. Anyway... I'm crossing my fingers that everything turns out great and they throw a killer party at your wedding... let me know how it goes. 🙂 (My wedding isn't even until next year, I assume yours is this year.)

If I remember right, they don't really do breaks at all, other than the usual stuff like dinner or a photo op... they're super professional about that. And yeah, they definitely know how to set a vibe 🙂

Well, the wedding guests were great, everyone was dancing constantly, which probably means people liked them. As for breaks, I honestly didn't even notice... I think they only stopped during dinner and when we were doing photos with the couple.

Maybelline... I was actually thinking about ham... not focus (not sure what their deal is with that either) 🙂 I checked out their online gallery and honestly, I wasn't impressed. It’s just the same old classic stuff. I gave them a call, though—they were super nice and the pricing is actually pretty reasonable. What they offer in a package costs twice as much everywhere else. So, I was just checking if anyone here has worked with them before? I want to know what the actual album and video look like. It’s a totally different story when you see someone's finished work instead of just a few random photos and clips online. Well, whatever, looks like I'll just have to head down there myself. 🙂 Anyway, thanks a ton for the effort. And hey, if you have a photographer you'd recommend, let me know... I've heard some rumors 🙂 (I'm from Indianapolis, so somewhere nearby works too)

I’ve actually been to weddings where The Beach Boys were playing, and they were killer. You definitely won't regret it... don't even worry about it. 🙂

Don't mention it. I'm glad I could help out a bit. I'll let you know how things turn out with my family once they arrive. My in-laws are coming in April. It'll be here before we know it. 🙂

gentledriver92 thanks! finally getting some first-hand info!

Now, hopefully I can return the favor a little bit.
If you need photos taken in Indianapolis—I’d definitely suggest Leon Productions.
Over in Columbus, you could try Studio 69 or Krizmanić—though I've heard a few complaints about Krizmanić before.

I've learned the hard way that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Take a real close look at the photos and videos before picking someone who's half the price of everyone else—usually, those "cheap" fixes end up costing you way more in the long run.

heh... I've heard they're all 🙏 but honestly, they're a bit pricey for my tiny budget 😁 still, thanks!

And here I thought you were from the Poughkeepsie area or something😉
If you end up going to Sunja, it won't even be a hassle to swing by Focus or Photo Kaca—they're all right there in the pedestrian zone within a couple of blocks of each other 👍
Sunja does a good job with video, though I can't really vouch for their wedding photography since I haven't seen anyone's shots from the last two or three years
Focus did my sister's shoot back in September—I haven't seen the photos yet, but if it hasn't been four months by then, I'll let you know how they look. The video is fine, so I'm not being harsh after 2 or 2.5 hours of talking about it. They do a short intro at the start, and they don't provide a separate DVD with a music video, though maybe they do that now 🤷
I do have a few gripes with the video—for instance, they spent half an hour filming the groom, but only about ten minutes on us 👎 but the quality itself is solid 👍
One of the ladies from the forum used Photo Kaca; she might reach out to you, but if she doesn't, I'll tell her to get in touch

Since I actually grew up in the same area where this studio is based, let me set the record straight: they aren't even half as cheap as the guys in Indianapolis, San Diego, or Chicago. Honestly, if you try to compare them to some big-name outfits like Artworks or Mirko or whoever else, the quality gap is just massive. That’s exactly why I ended up hiring someone from out of town—none of the local options here actually impressed me.
Basically, we're looking at studios that have been doing the same thing for twenty years and seem stuck in their ways—they lack any real imagination or creative spark, regardless of how much expensive gear they're lugging around...

Thanks a ton for the detailed breakdown 😍!! Hm... I saw Photo Kaca's work back in the Midwest, both the shots and the DVD—it was okay... but that was way back in 2007. Heh. Maybe they've changed their whole process since then... who knows. It’s probably best to just walk into the studio myself, since I have a pretty clear idea of what I want and what I'm willing to pay... provided that's even doable.😂
