shadowhound82 said:So... I ended up at the neuro ER today. Long story short, the left side of my body just isn't responding as well as the right.
I have to get an MRI of my spine and my arms and legs too.
A lot of this medical jargon in the report is flying over my head, so if anyone could break it down, I'd appreciate it.

-isocoric pupils
-patellar reflexes weakened
-positive Lasègue sign at 45 degrees
-slight ataxia during Romberg

I understood some of it, but not all of this... :/

Look, I’m not exactly a medical expert here, so I’m banking on one of the doctors in this thread stepping up to explain things. From what I gather, the Romberg test checks your balance, and "ataxia" refers to those unsteady movements or tremors. As for your pupils being isocoric, that actually means they're the same size, which is a good thing.
Did you get an EEG done yet?

Not yet. Everything takes forever around here, so I’ll probably just reach out privately instead.

..hm
I don't even know what to say to all that
I've been feeling a bit off myself lately
My back has been absolutely killing me these last six months, and I'm just constantly exhausted
My blood pressure hit 140/110 with a resting heart rate of 100
I've had the full works done—EKG, Holter, echocardiogram, stress test
Got my spine checked out too, nothing major, just the classic L5 and S1 issues
Blood work came back fine
Thyroid levels look normal too
And yet, I still feel so strange...

I honestly don't even know how to respond to all of this.
I'm dealing with some similar issues myself.
My back has been absolutely killing me for the last six months, and I just feel drained all the time.
My blood pressure hit 140/110 with a resting heart rate of 100.
I've gone through the ringer—EKGs, Holter monitors, echocardiograms, stress tests... the whole nine yards.
Got my spine checked out too; nothing major, just the classic L5 and S1 issue.
Blood work came back fine.
Thyroid levels are normal.
And yet, everyone thinks I'm just being weird!

That kind of blood pressure and tachycardia isn't "normal" or "okay" by any stretch of the imagination.
You need a solid internist. Make sure you get your kidneys checked out, too.

I'm actually going through something similar right now.
My back has been absolutely killing me for the last six months, and I am constantly exhausted.
My blood pressure hit 140/110 with a resting heart rate of 100.
I’ve done it all—EKG, stress test, Holter monitor, echocardiogram, ergometry...
Had my spine scanned too; nothing catastrophic, just the classic L5 and S1 issues.
Blood work came back fine.
Thyroid levels are normal.
And yet, everyone thinks *I'm* the weird one!

You really need to provide the actual clinical data—the EKG, TTE, stress test, both RR and EKG Holter results, and full metabolic panels—along with a description of the symptoms, family medical history, and any other conditions or medications you're currently on.

I'll
make sure to do that first...

I'm feeling some of the same stuff too
My back has been absolutely killing me for the last 6 months, and I'm just constantly wiped out
My blood pressure hit 140/110 and my resting heart rate was up at 100
I've done everything—EKGs, Holter monitors, echocardiograms, stress tests
Got an MRI on my spine, and it’s the classic L5 and S1 issue
Blood work came back fine
Thyroid levels are totally normal too
Yet here I am, feeling like a total freak!

Looks like there's two of us being "weirdos" now.
Just two years ago, I couldn't have been any healthier, seriously
And now? I barely have the energy to function :/
While everyone else is like, "Oh, you're fine!"
I'm definitely going to get those tests done. I think I've already covered most of the basics. Fingers crossed I finally figure out what's actually going on..

Everyone keeps telling me nothing is wrong..
I'll go ahead and get those tests done, though I think I've already covered most of it. I'm just really hoping this finally gets to the bottom of things..

..it's nothing!
Don't bother them, just focus on us
Last September, I caught a nasty case of strep throat
It hit me so hard I had to get a penicillin shot, then I took some antibiotic—maybe Cephalexin, I can't be 100% sure
Then three weeks later, my throat flared up again and I was back on antibiotics
I honestly feel like everything has just gone downhill since then

Don't sweat them, just worry about us
Back in May last year, I got hit with a nasty case of strep throat
It was so brutal I actually had to get a penicillin shot, and then I think I took some kind of 1.5g antibiotic (not 100% sure on the exact name)
Then, just three weeks later, my throat flared up again and I was right back on antibiotics
What I'm trying to say is, ever since that happened, it feels like everything has just been going downhill

Personally, I feel like my life has been a total downward spiral ever since my thyroid issues started. Since then, every single ache and pain seems connected to it.
This stuff is enough to drive you insane, so I totally feel you! 🙂
