Anyone have any insight on this?
Eric Alvarez3, this is the fifth time I'm telling you.
There isn't any.
You have actual, legitimate jujitsu at the Academy and at the System.

Here you go. Take a look.
Thanks a lot.
Does anyone know if there are any clubs for tantjutsu, iaido, or anything involving actual weapons? Somewhere in the San Diego area or nearby, obviously.

There isn't a single club in San Diego dedicated to Kenjutsu or Iaido. You've only got Kendo in the area. Check out www.aikido.com for more info.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy... talk about hitting close to home... there are just so many fantastic clubs in the city—honestly, I’m right there with anyone who thinks you need to just step up, get your act together, and actually figure out where you fit in!!

For anyone looking to get into Muay Thai just for fun—and if you need a gym right in the heart of downtown—I can highly recommend Spartan Gym.
It’s hard work, honestly—but the trainer is incredibly patient and makes sure to give everyone individual attention—plus, the crew there is super friendly and always willing to lend a hand... I'm really happy with my choice.😁

Isn't there a Spartan Gym somewhere near the Spanish District?😕
Is that hall actually correct?

Where exactly is the facility located?
It's right by the intersection of Illica and Frankopanska.

But seriously, do you have any intel on when something like that might actually open up?

No.

Can someone let me know if there’s an open gym schedule during the summer for recreational players? Also—any idea what the membership fees look like?

So wait, 😕how can you claim you don't know? I don't get it. Care to elaborate just a little? 😁
😂😂 🙏

Yeah, they do, Tuesdays and Thursdays over on Stefanovich Street—it's one of those gyms, I don't recall the exact street number.
They run a really solid program, sessions usually kick off around 8:00 PM.
They also have training down at the Ravnica location, though I'm not entirely sure if they keep the recreational classes going through the summer months.

This guy used to practice Arnis, though I can't say for sure if he actually taught it. It’s pretty old news, so my memory isn't exactly sharp. As for a club? You definitely won't find one here in the States if that's what you're looking for. Maybe someone else here has a better lead? 😢

There’s just something about the vibe of this club that feels so incredibly metropolitan and sophisticated, don't you think? http://www.urbana-sistem.com/ 🙂

I was wondering if there might be an MMA gym located out in San Diego, and honestly, I'm also questioning if starting at twenty is just too late to get into it. I'm mostly thinking about training recreationally, you know, just as a way to burn off some extra energy, I guess.

I’m not really sure what you mean by an "MMA club" here. Some places just offer freestyle grappling, but we focus on Jiu-Jitsu and Krav Maga, and from what I hear, a few other spots around town stick to Jiu-Jitsu too. If you actually want to step into the cage for MMA, you’ve gotta have some serious foundation in a specific skill or sport first.
Recreational MMA?
Besides Krav Maga, I don't see much else going on. As far as the crews I know go, anyone without experience 🙂 probably isn't cutting it, but hey, maybe someone else out there knows something I don't.
