Has anyone here actually tried one of those Clearblue pregnancy tests? I'm wondering how reliable they really are—maybe just a gut feeling?

Never heard of them.

I’ve honestly never even heard of that brand... And regarding those little sores and the itching you mentioned, it might be a really good idea to go get screened for STIs just to be safe and get some peace of mind...🤷

Look, I was just trying to offer some good-hearted advice.

I’m with you—she really needs to get some swabs done. That constant itching and discomfort? It’s got absolutely nothing to do with her period, ovulation, or whether she's pregnant...
Besides, if I remember correctly, you said you took a test just 23 days after your suspected ovulation date... hellooo?
For women, those things show up after about 12 days...
Just go see a doctor and get the swabs checked out to make sure there isn't some kind of bacterial infection lingering around... stop overthinking it unnecessarily.
And please, for future reference, just stick to a reliable brand like Clearblue or something similar.

So, I went ahead and tried out that whole new testing thing yesterday just to see if I could finally clear up all those nagging doubts, but honestly? It ended up being a total wash😁. I mean, at the end of the day, what's the big deal? A test is just a test, it's all the same old song and dance anyway

Listen up, everyone. This is my first time posting here, and I’m looking for some straight talk. My period was due on April 15th, but it’s already the 23rd and nothing. I took a Clearblue pregnancy test this past Saturday, and it came back positive. It wasn't even a question—a crystal clear positive right after I finished. By my count, I’m about three weeks and four days along, though if you calculate from my last period, it’s closer to four weeks and six days. I went to see my OBGYN yesterday, but since she doesn't have an ultrasound machine in her office, she just did a basic exam. She noticed some brown discharge that I haven't had before; it showed up last night after the appointment and a little bit more this morning. She told me to wait until Friday, and if my period still hasn't arrived, to start taking progesterone twice a day. Honestly, I want to start them immediately because I'm terrified of a miscarriage. I really want to find a private specialist to get an ultrasound just to confirm everything is actually there. I realize it's too early to hear a heartbeat, but the anxiety of the worst-case scenario is killing me. Does anyone have any actual advice? Should I go get blood work done or something else? Thanks in advance... and hello to all.

God, what kind of gin is that if it doesn't even have a mixer?!!
Best bet is to hit up a private specialist, but don't go drinking anything on your own... They'll tell you what the next move is.

She’s just a general practitioner OB-GYN, just like any other primary care doctor you'd see in the States. You go to her for basic screenings, swabs, and the standard routine. She prescribed Ultragestan, and from everything I've read, women take it during early pregnancy to help prevent miscarriage. It doesn't harm the fetus; if anything, it supports the pregnancy and helps development. If a miscarriage has already happened, then the period will come naturally regardless—Ultragestan won't cause any negative side effects. I'm just torn on whether to start taking it immediately or wait until Friday. Even with an ultrasound, the doctor can't tell me much besides the fact that there's a fetus present.

Not sure, I don't really have any experience with that, but if your doctor told you to hold off on drinking until Friday, just stick to that. Or maybe go get a second opinion...
I'm a total rule-follower—I always do exactly what my doctors tell me to do. They definitely know more than I do.

Fine, thanks. I'll hold out until Friday and see how things play out. If this discharge hasn't cleared up by then, I'm starting on the medication. I just need everything to go smoothly—I absolutely cannot handle any spontaneous incidents. I’ve got my heart set on this little angel...

Honestly, that discharge doesn't necessarily mean anything. Plenty of women go through it and everything turns out totally fine, as long as you aren't seeing any blood.

George Garcia56, if I can offer one bit of advice—just take a deep breath and try to stay calm... First off, huge congratulations on the pregnancy!
I’m truly rooting for you and hoping everything turns out perfectly.
If I were in your shoes, though, I’d probably go out of my way to get a second opinion. Maybe book an appointment with a private OB-GYN or something similar... I have a feeling they’d be more willing to run a beta test for you and all that.
Sending you my best and wishing you nothing but the best!
