I’m honestly not sure where the best place to drop this question is, so I’ll just put it here since we’re talking about a possible pregnancy...
Should I go ahead and schedule a blood test for beta hCG at Mount Sinai?
I was really hoping to head over there as early as tomorrow morning, but nobody seems to be picking up the phone at the clinic anymore tonight. Does anyone happen to know their actual operating hours?

This might sound a little out there, but I was wondering if any of you experienced an absolutely brutal migraine as one of your very first pregnancy signs? I don't mean just a standard headache, but more like one of those terrifying, overwhelming attacks.
My period isn't due for another five days, so I guess it's probably too early to bother with a test just yet. But the day before yesterday, I was hit by this unbearable migraine—it was so intense I could barely stay on my feet, almost like I was drifting in and out of consciousness. 😲 I don't usually deal with much in the way of headaches, maybe just the occasional minor tension thing here and there, but nothing ever quite like this.
On top of that, I’ve been dealing with some cramping, painful 🙂, feeling hungry all the time, and then feeling strangely lightheaded right after I eat, plus my skin is acting really weird. I already struggle with my complexion, but lately, it feels like my skin is transforming overnight; I'll go to bed with a perfectly clear face and wake up seven hours later covered in breakouts! 😲😲😲
Sorry for the long-winded post, I suppose, but I'm starting to feel a bit anxious and I honestly can't wait for the weekend to finally figure out what's going on.

And why not just start with a home test?

It’s like you’re describing my exact life right now; everything is identical, except last week I was also being haunted by a bit of a fever.

The headaches? Yeah, they're a thing. And the breast tenderness... that's pretty standard too.
Acne is definitely on the table, too.
As for whether it’s actually happening or if you're just getting an early start—that usually doesn't clear up until about week 4 or 5.

But look, just hang in there. Wait out those five days, then take the test...👍

I suppose I have a bit of a temperature too, maybe around 98.6 to 99 degrees every day. Though, mind you, that’s in the evening, so it isn’t my basal temperature.

I wouldn't say I'm one of those people who gets carried away by every little symptom, though I guess I’ve always been a bit of a pessimist, and I’d much rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed, if I'm being honest.
We’ve been trying for about 15 months now, but I haven't felt quite like this before. Mostly, it was that migraine that really threw me off, because it hit me out of nowhere in just a few minutes, and then there were those breakouts overnight...😲😲
And regarding feeling sick, it’s not that I feel like vomiting, but more like I'll get really hungry, eat a couple of bites, and then my stomach just feels sort of uneasy. So, I find myself eating tiny amounts many times throughout the day, which isn't really my usual style. Normally, I’m the type to have three solid meals, but when I eat, I actually sit down and eat.😬

^I deal with the exact same symptoms every single month right before my period hits.

Plus the nerves... and this weird urge where I just have to clean everything, tidy up, reorganize the whole house... 😁

I was supposed to get it by today—last month it was on the 19th, and my cycle usually runs between 26 and 32 days—but nothing. I'm already losing my mind...

Hey everyone...
I’m new here and I honestly have no clue how any of this works....... I could really use some help or maybe just some advice..
Anyway.. this has been weighing on me for a while now... I can't tell if I'm pregnant or not... /really hoping to find out by tomorrow/ I've been having some symptoms.. like constant nausea all day long,, food just doesn't taste right anymore even though smells are fine,, I'm running to the bathroom constantly,, and I've been craving things I normally wouldn't touch in a million years :SS
The thing is, my boyfriend and I have been together for a year and a half now, and we aren't using any protection—well, except he never actually finishes inside me... so I don't know if I'm just being paranoid like usual!??

Also, another thing... I know nobody here can make the decision for me... but I really need your perspective 😢(( I'm 19, and if it turns out I am pregnant,, I'd actually want the baby,, but he absolutely does not... so now I'm stuck in this huge dilemma... I'm scared of ruining all the plans I've made for my future, but at the same time, I'm terrified that if I don't go through with it, I'll regret it deeply one day or—God forbid—never be able to have kids again 😢(

Help me please

Well, welcome to the club.
Regarding point one... yeah, it’s possible you’re pregnant. You might have symptoms, sure, but honestly? Just take a test. No one on some internet forum can tell you for certain if you're 100% expecting.

As for point two... look, I was pregnant at 19 and had my kid at 20. More than anything in the world, I wanted that baby. My husband? Well, he reacted like a typical guy—happy enough, I guess, but he wasn't exactly jumping for joy or throwing a parade.

Just remember, babies don't just drop from the sky out of nowhere. A baby has its own soul, just like you, your boyfriend, your mom, your dad... all of you. One day, all of you had to start from zero, from conception. And yet here you are, living your lives, talking to them, arguing with them... nobody here ended up here by pure accident, right? So if this baby is in you, it didn't happen by mistake either... everything happens for a reason.

The choice is yours. But I won't tell you to back down just because your guy isn't ready—or rather, hasn't matured enough to step up and handle the consequences of his own actions. He should've thought about this beforehand, and honestly, so should you.
You aren't fifteen anymore. You're adults in the US now, and you have to own up to what you do.
Life doesn't give anyone a free pass. It can be harsh and brutal, but it can also be beautiful and happy. It all depends on the path you choose.

Think hard about your future... if you really are pregnant... you aren't the first nineteen-year-old to find herself in this spot. 😉

I’ve got a question for all the women here who actually managed to get pregnant.

How many of you ran a test late in the afternoon and saw a positive, even though your period was only lagging by maybe four or six days?

And did any of you end up getting a negative result later on, only to find out you were definitely pregnant—or maybe you just waited until the next morning and the first thing you saw was a solid positive?

I tried testing in the afternoon and it came back positive. I used Clearblue because I trust them to be accurate throughout the day. I hadn't slept in 30 hours right before, so I was worried my exhaustion or the sheer nerves might mess with the results... but it was legit.😍

As for my own experience, I took a test at around 7:00 PM; it was day 37 of my cycle, though my typical cycle usually runs about 35 days. I used an Intim Plus kit and made sure I hadn't urinated for at least an hour and a half beforehand, and lo and behold, it was positive—it showed up almost instantly, first the positive line and then the control window appeared.

That was my exact experience, though I made sure to test again in the evening and the result remained positive. My period was five days late. 🙂

I mean, isn't it a bit early to be testing things tonight if we're already looking at a 4 to 6 day delay?

I guess I’m still holding out hope that it actually shows up...
But once you're staring down a delay of over 10 days... well, not in this lifetime. That just hasn't happened before.

You could just make one yourself, though I used Clearblue and the instructions specifically state not to test in the morning. That option is more expensive, costing roughly $20

Mine was four days late, so I just swung by the CVS after work, picked up a pregnancy test, and used it the moment I walked through my front door—somewhere between 4:00 and 5:00 PM, I think. There was a line; it wasn't incredibly dark, but it was definitely there. I was just so happy... honestly, you should just take a test.

So, there I was. Bought it, made it, and... yeah. That's that. No big deal.

I went with the one for $11 that little pregnancy... mini thing.

Hey ladies, I could really use some advice...
Yesterday afternoon, I took a pregnancy test and there was a second line—it was pretty faint, but it definitely showed up.
Then, I tried an Intim Plus test this morning and that one came back negative.
My period is already three days late.
What do you all think is going on?

I suspect you should wait at least another day before trying again. Perhaps pick up a Clearblue test; $33 they tend to be the most reliable option. 👍

Good luck. 😉

I was using a Clearblue Mini test on day 31 of my cycle, around 5:00 PM—honestly, I can't even remember how many times I'd used the bathroom that day—and it still came back positive 😍
.
It just goes to show that you don't always need those overpriced, high-end diagnostic kits to get an answer 😉
