Lawrence Alvarez2 said:Oh, for sure... if it were just about that fluid, I’d have a small army of kids by now. The truth is, I got pregnant because things weren't pulled out during my fertile window, and I knew immediately that "it could happen"—and it did! I even did that whole thing where I ran to the bathroom and waited for everything to drain, pacing around the room before finally heading to bed, and sure enough, I got a positive instead of my period... and obviously, I'm happy about it. I agree that you can't just make babies by accident, but unfortunately, some people conceive earlier and some later... don't beat yourselves up, your little ones will arrive when they're ready!👍

By the way, does anyone shower immediately after sex, or do you wait a bit?
Since we're still pretty new to all this—we're definitely still learning the ropes😍—I found myself heading straight for the shower, though afterward I started wondering if I really should have waited a little for things to "settle" first.☕😍

Also, is that whole thing about putting your legs up against the wall just an old wives' tale, or is there some actual science behind it? On a related note—my uterus is retroverted, which apparently means I should be lying on my stomach...😕 Is there an anatomy expert among us😁?

If you're actually trying to conceive, your best bet is to have sex right before bed and then just pass out! Or at least stay lying down and chill for a while!👍

Mark Fox18 said:My man even had a vasectomy, and I still ended up pregnant. Does that mean he’s just clumsy 🤣? We used the pull-out method for years, but hey, life happens... My period was 10 days late, but I honestly didn't think there was any way I could be pregnant since he didn't finish inside, right? If the method worked for us for 10 years, why wouldn't it work now?

And if this hadn't happened to me, I would've been right there with Lawrence Alvarez2, saying people would have like 100 kids by now. I always wondered how anyone could get pregnant unexpectedly while being careful, yet here I am at 28 years old experiencing it myself.

So, regardless of whether someone finishes inside or not—it’s definitely not a guarantee 👍!

total mirror image 😲
Honestly, I think if he wants to, you'll see his boxers on the floor 😁, but if he doesn't... well, you can believe whatever fairy tale you want.

I’ve been thinking about this lately—it’s hard not to when you see how much everything is shifting—but there’s this specific kind of intellectual depth that seems to be slipping through our fingers. I call it erudition, though maybe that’s too fancy a word for a Tuesday afternoon. It’s that deep, layered understanding of things—not just knowing facts like you're playing trivia at a bar in Chicago, but actually grasping the connective tissue between ideas. It feels like we're moving toward this era of "surface-level everything." You glance at a headline, you get the gist, and you move on. There's no digging. No staying with an idea long enough to let it actually change your mind. It’s all very fast, very loud, and frankly, a bit shallow. Real knowledge requires a certain kind of patience—a willingness to sit with the discomfort of not knowing something immediately. We used to value the slow build, the gradual accumulation of wisdom. Now? If it isn't a thirty-second clip, people act like it doesn't exist. It's a strange way to live, really—constantly consuming without ever truly absorbing. I wonder if we're losing the ability to think deeply, or if we're just choosing not to. Either way, it’s a loss. kaže:
So, quick question—do you guys jump straight in the shower right after sex, or do you hang out for a bit first?
So, we’ve actually started tackling that issue—which, let’s be honest, is a bit of a leap considering we’re still pretty much rookies at this.😍I ended up just heading straight for the shower—it was basically an autopilot move at that point. Maybe I should have just waited a bit longer—let things settle, I guess—to see if everything would actually fall into place.☕😍

Is that whole "legs up the wall" thing just some old wives' tale, or is there actually some science behind it? Anyway—my uterus is retroverted, which apparently means I’m supposed to be lying on my stomach more often... or so the rumors go.😕 Any anatomy experts hanging out in this thread?😁?

Don't bother hopping in the shower right after sex if you’re actually trying to conceive. I mean, look, the odds of you messing everything up are slim—practically zero—but I did come across some stuff saying those fancy scented body washes and bubble baths can be slightly toxic to sperm. It's a bit of a stretch, maybe, but still... I wouldn't recommend washing up immediately after. Like Lawrence Alvarez2 mentioned to me, just wait until you're ready for bed, then go ahead and hit the bathroom. 🙂 Good luck!

Alex White6 said:I'm sorry, but those aren't really typical signs of Pregnancy... it sounds more like a UTI. If you were pregnant, you'd likely be at least a month along by now, so I'm wondering how something that small could already be putting enough pressure on your bladder to cause frequent trips? Pressure just doesn't seem right for this stage. Honestly, if it is Pregnancy, it's still way too early to feel anything at all... everything is just too tiny to notice...

sounds like a UTI to me...

Hey everyone!
My last period was on February 25th, so I’m expecting my next one around March 25th. But get this—since March 10th, I’ve been dealing with these crazy pelvic pains and cramps that feel exactly like period cramps. At first, I just figured it was ovulation, but since when does that last this long??? I took a pregnancy test on March 17th and it showed one solid line, but there was this other line that was super faint—like, barely even there. Are those second lines always supposed to be that hard to see? I honestly didn't pay much attention at first. I know it's way too early to say for sure if I'm actually pregnant, but what do you guys think? Also, which brands do you all swear by?
thanks!

Just wait until you actually expect to get it, then try the test again.

Technically, the rule of thumb is that if you see even the faintest little line, you're pregnant.
But honestly, I’ve seen plenty of women take them way too early—they see this barely visible plus sign and think they're expecting, only to find out it was just a false alarm.
It really all comes down to which brand you're using...

Maybe give Clearblue or an Intim test a shot... those are reliable enough that you can even take them around day 23 or 24.

Hey, just a heads-up... if you flip over to the next page, there's a thread called _Random test !!! where everything about symptoms, testing, and all that stuff is laid out.
It’s pretty much a given that our mods will end up moving this discussion over there anyway...

You're giving me flashbacks to when I saw my second line... seriously, if you aren't pregnant, you won't see a second line at all. So... 😍
And Sunny is right—there's already a thread about this topic.

So, I’m sitting here wondering—what are actually my chances of getting pregnant right now?! Like, my fertile window is supposed to start today, but even before that (I'm talking about those days leading up to the peak), my guy and I have been sleeping together without any protection because, duh, we're trying for a baby... and then today we did it again, totally unprotected, and he finished inside me... I mean, obviously, I know there's a chance I could conceive, and honestly, a pretty big one, but we've done this exact same thing before and I haven't gotten pregnant yet... can anyone actually give me a straight answer here??? We really, really want this baby, but now I'm low-key freaking out that it might be a struggle since we didn't make it happen 😢
p.s. my mom was telling me how it took her three whole years to finally "make" me, so now I'm just spiraling 🙂

They say babies show up whenever they feel like it, not on our damn schedule. 🙂

Could you seriously not leave those wannabe moms alone? 😁

Honey...give me a break, I thought we explained all of this quite clearly to you 😢
For your own sake, I truly hope it takes you three years... not because I'm being mean—not at all—but because you are just a young girl dealing with so much trauma in your life... and believe me, you aren't ready to bring a child into this world yet. I don't mean that in a bad way, but you already have enough unresolved chaos in your life without adding a little human being that I'm sure you'll love more than anything else... why the rush?
Get everything else sorted out first. You need to find some inner peace and work through your problems so you can approach parenthood with a clear head
Trust me, your child will thank you for it 👍

That isn't possible,
how on earth would anyone on this forum know whether you ended up pregnant this time or not?😕

@elonmusk I didn't even realize I could drop a question like this here... definitely coming back with more stuff like this from now on... thanks 😘

@het Look, I don't doubt you're trying to help, really, but my partner and I have talked about this endlessly and we've decided we want a baby—money isn't even an issue for us, honestly. We both want this kid so badly and we're just praying this time actually works... but I wanted to get some outside perspective here because what my mom told me is seriously eating at me, so yeah... 😘

@Lali Puna I was honestly just looking for some input from the ladies on this sub 😉

You can, sure, but how's anyone supposed to know if you actually ended up pregnant this time?
And that's assuming you even hit your ovulation day perfectly😕

Btw, what do you mean by "fertile days"? Are you just crunching numbers or actually tracking symptoms?

Maybe you won't get a baby until you finally grow up a bit😛

@elonmusk my mom actually walked me through how to track my fertile and non-fertile days, and then I woke up realizing today might be the day... I mean, I know it’s not 100% foolproof, but seriously... ever since my period ended—honestly even while I was on it—I've been hooking up with my man, so... plus, I’ll be finished with my degree in a month, so if I end up pregnant, everything is totally fine and we're good to go. We honestly really want this baby, both of us, so I was just wondering what the odds actually are because, you know, I was just following what my mom told me 🙂
