Betty Torres39 said:So, I started taking Logest about six days ago—my very first attempt at birth control pills, which I was hunting for because my period cramps have been absolutely brutal lately. My OB-GYN didn't even bother sending me for any blood work beforehand. But then, starting yesterday, I began feeling these bizarre tingling sensations in my legs. It’s almost like they don't even belong to me. And if I press on them, they actually ache, even though there's zero swelling or anything visible going on.
I was doing some reading online and saw that venous thrombosis can be a side effect of contraceptives. Is it even possible for something like that to kick in that quickly after starting the pill? And honestly, should I be panicking about these symptoms? 🤔
Thanks for any advice you can give.

That’s actually why I stopped taking the pill. It made me feel terrible, like my legs weighed three tons. Fluid would just build up in them, and that was the cause. Even now, after six months without them, unfortunately, the fluid hasn't gone away.

Hi everyone 😁 ...I have a question. I'm 18, I have a steady partner, and I recently started taking Logest. I just took my fifth pill today. So far, thank God, I haven't had any side effects. I maintain a healthy lifestyle and take the pills at the exact same time every day. This is actually my first time using oral contraceptives (I only recently had sex with my boyfriend for the first time 😍), and we’ve been using extra protection—condoms—just because I wasn't sure if it was wise to rely solely on the pill since I just started. I’ve been scouring forums and reading endless pages claiming that the pills work from day one and that I'm protected even during those seven days "between" packs... blah blah. Just to be absolutely certain... should we continue using condoms until I finish this first pack? I'm not one to panic, but I am taking this seriously and want to be careful; I don't want to mess this up. But honestly, I want to enjoy spontaneous sex, not spend time staring at the ceiling or waiting around while he grabs a condom, asking "where were we?" By then, things aren't exactly ideal, and it isn't pleasant for me. Plus, I know it would be much easier for him without them. What do you think is the smartest time to stop using extra protection? Thanks in advance 👍

Listen;

A friend of mine took Plan B (the day after), and she was told to take three pills, then another three twelve hours later.
She took the first three at the 13-hour mark after intercourse, and the remaining three twelve hours after that, just as she was instructed.

So far, she hasn't had any side effects at all. I see people on here posting about nausea and fever, but she feels perfectly fine.
Question: Are those six pills total—three now and three after twelve hours—actually enough? I’m asking because some sites claim you need to keep taking one pill every day for a few more days??????????
Nobody mentioned that to her!
The only thing they did tell her was that her period might come immediately, in a week, or just on its normal schedule regardless of the Plan B. Apparently, it depends on where she was in her cycle when she took it—whether it was the first phase, ovulation, or the second phase.

Can someone please answer the question above as soon as possible... does she need to keep taking these pills, or is the dose of three followed by three after twelve hours sufficient????????????????????

That’s the perfect dose; anything more would be overkill.

Thanks for such a quick response.

I just really hope it worked. ;-)

I was ten days out from my period—right after finishing my cycle—but I'm nervous because my ovulation can sometimes happen closer to the start of the cycle rather than the middle.

I know there are no set rules for when it starts, but the waiting is making me anxious.

If you’ve had a drink like you say, then everything should be just fine.👍

Michael Morales16, you’ve been absolutely spot on from the very beginning, and honestly, if I were you, I’d just get rid of those awful condoms once and for all!🙂 I mean, I can't say I disagree, because I absolutely despise them too.

When I was running around looking for post-coital options, I ended up with 6 tablets—3 right away and 3 twelve hours later. I received a pamphlet stating my period should arrive within three weeks. Even though I was on day 8 of my cycle, I ended up getting my period six days later, which was a typical, painful experience. My following period arrived exactly 30 days later, and that was that.

Yeah, honestly, there's just too much friction.😁 Thanks.😉

So, I started my fourth pack of birth control pills this past Monday, and then on Wednesday, my boyfriend and I had sex, and he finished inside me. Fast forward to Thursday, and I completely blanked on taking my pill, which led to me taking two of them back-to-back on Friday, just following what the instructions suggested. According to the little pamphlet that comes with them, if you miss a dose during the first week of the cycle and have had unprotected sex during that same week, there’s a possibility of pregnancy.
Should I be feeling a bit anxious about this??

Thanks!🙂🙂

There’s a slim chance you might be looking at a mishap here, mostly because you didn't get that pill down right away the day after things happened. It really all boils down to the timing—I mean, when exactly did you take those on Wednesday versus the ones on Friday, how many hours late were we actually talking about, and what was the exact window of the encounter itself? Theoretically, the protection from a single dose can stretch out for up to 48 hours, though I suppose that isn't a guarantee. You probably ought to be extra careful for the rest of the month, since there's a possibility ovulation could happen—or maybe it already has—because of that slip-up during the first week. If I were in your shoes, I’d probably be feeling a bit anxious about it, though then again, I tend to be a total panicker myself. 🙂

I’ve been on birth control for about four months now, and honestly, I haven’t missed a single pill until this exact situation occurred. I’m usually incredibly diligent about taking it right at 7:00 PM every evening. However, I did happen to miss my dose this past Wednesday, so I ended up taking two pills back-to-back at 7:00 PM on Thursday.🤷

I have a question, and maybe it’s a bit silly, but it’s a question nonetheless. Since I’m still pretty new to all of this. I started my period this afternoon, but I didn't take my pill until this evening because I decided that taking them at night worked better for me. Does that timing actually matter, and is there any rule that says you absolutely have to take that first pill the exact moment your period begins?

Well, it really depends on which specific brand of birth control you're using.
According to the instructions for Yasmin: "Start taking Yasmin tablets on the first day of your cycle... You can also start between the second and fifth day of your cycle, but in that case, you should use an additional barrier method for protection."

Personally, though, I always make sure to start on the very first day of my cycle, regardless of what time of day it happens to be.

Thomas Ramos2, there’s really absolutely nothing to worry about here. I mean, if you took that pill on Wednesday, it would have provided one hundred percent protection by Thursday at 7:00 PM, and since you haven't had any intercourse after that point, you should be perfectly fine. Silverpanther26, honestly, the time of day doesn't even matter; what actually matters—and this is the crucial part, I suppose—is simply making sure you take it on that specific day and try your best to stick to that same one-hour window throughout the entire month.

Alright, since there hasn't been any bleeding yet;-( I have a few questions:

How long does it take for a urine test to show a positive result?

And for a blood test, how long until you can tell if someone is pregnant?

Thanks

So, I’ve got a question and I would be super grateful if you guys could help me out and give me some answers

I just finished my third pack of Logest
After the first pack, everything seemed fine. My period showed up three days after my last pill—so that was day 24 the first time around
Then, after the second pack, I started getting this brownish discharge. I was still on my last pill when it happened, but then my actual period came on day 28
But now, after the third pack, my period hasn't shown up at all... what could that mean? Is it actually possible that I'm pregnant?

Thanks in advance

What does "after the third box, I didn't get it" actually mean? How long has it been since you took your last pill?

They’re all fine, even though they showed up a day late... but I honestly figured by the third pack I’d be totally stabilized and my period would hit around day 28

thanks
