I honestly still don't get why everyone is throwing stones at Simon. In my view, his shows are just a mirror held up to our current culture. Every era has its own arena, and it all boils down to bread and circuses. Everyone wants their fifteen minutes of fame, even the talented ones who opt for the path of least resistance. He isn't exploiting anyone or leading them astray; people are perfectly capable of exploiting themselves in more ways than they care to admit. Sure, I watch Simon's shows—partly because he’s actually one of the more engaging hosts out there—but I’m certainly not the one lining his pockets. Thank goodness we still have actual human beings, rather than some sort of psychological mediocrities, who can distinguish between genuine talent and a complete disaster, helping us realize just how wrong we might be.

Besides, the only reason I jumped into this thread was because calling someone a monster or a piece of trash is just plain rude and classless. It seems I’m not quite equipped for such heavy-handed rhetoric, so I’ll bow out of this debate now. Kisses 🙂

"Freak" is basically a polite, civilized way to describe things like that.

Why does a woman have to look like a total wreck? Oh, wait, I forgot... nowadays you're supposed to look like some plastic Barbie doll just to be acceptable. If you've got a little extra weight on you, it's apparently a disgrace to humanity! We really are a ridiculous bunch... Of course you find Simon entertaining. People don't just love to watch; they love the chance to align themselves with a superior personality who gets to bully everyone else. I guess Susan is truly a one-of-a-kind phenomenon. It’s pretty wild how someone who felt so "old" and was completely unknown just a short while ago has managed to capture more attention and "fame" than some artists spend decades trying to build! When it comes to her singing and that incredible voice of hers, I really have to hand it to her. (I don't actually listen to this specific genre of music, but I still get goosebumps whenever I hear that first recording from her performance on BST!) I’ll definitely be borrowing (not necessarily buying) her album once it drops just to give it a listen. Besides her beautiful voice, I suppose Susan owes a huge debt to the media for discovering her and turning her into the star she is today—because, honestly, the same media outlets that built her up could just as easily tear her down completely. It’s nice to see the media actually doing something right for once!!
