My Ferritin came back today at 25 (Ref range 12-300)

While it falls within the normal range, one could argue it's sitting right on the lower end...

Could my results be affected if I recently started taking Floradix syrup, which contains iron?

P.S. How is it possible for hemoglobin levels tested on the same day to vary between two different vials?

One report shows 7.9, while the other shows 8.5.

Hey,

I didn't want to start a whole new thread, so I'll just try to drop my question here. Hope this isn't totally out of line...

I'm dealing with some health issues where I still haven't found the root cause. It’s vague pain in my upper abdomen—right between the ribs and the navel. I’ve run a ton of tests (not going to list them all) and everything comes back normal.

Looking at my most recent KKS, which is coming up next (there are some minor deviations):
image

I'm wondering if there's any point in running an IgG, IgM, or IgA analysis? Or can these results help determine what other specific tests I should be asking for? Because the doctors just keep telling me everything looks fine and that it’s "all in my head"...

Hey, I just got my thyroid serum analysis back, and here’s what they found:

hToAt 582.1 IJ/ml normal value: <4.1
TPO-At <1.00 IJ/ml normal value: <5.61

These results are from last year, and my GP suggested it might just be some kind of "temporary" inflammation??
Anyway, I have a few small nodules that have changed slightly over the past year, according to my ultrasound (also from last year): "minor nodular changes." So far, I've only gone in for checkups; I haven't had a biopsy. Also, for the last month or month and a half, I've been feeling this constant lump in my throat. It fades a little during the day and then comes right back—it's way worse when I'm stressed out. Is it possible that this "lump" is actually connected to my thyroid? I'm scheduled for a full physical mid-year, but I'm seriously considering booking a thyroid specialist appointment much sooner...

My recent swab came back positive for Group B Strep, though there aren't any signs of inflammation. I’ve been prescribed Erythromycin—since I haven't taken penicillin since I was a kid, even though I'm not actually allergic—along with a probiotic. What I'm really wondering about, though, is my wife's situation; she had some vaginal swabs done about four months ago and they all came back negative. The protocol numbers on her results don't quite match mine, so I'm not entirely sure if we're looking at the exact same thing, but is it actually possible for her tests to stay negative even after we've been intimate?

I was told that a fasting glucose level of 7 means I already have diabetes, yet everywhere I look online, they claim that number falls squarely into the prediabetes category. To make matters worse, after an entire year, my levels have climbed back up to 7, and only now am I being referred for those follow-up tests like Hbc1 and OGTT. I haven't gone in yet, but I can't help but wonder: just how high does this sugar level need to climb before they actually start me on pills? I haven't found a single reliable source stating that a value of 7 constitutes full-blown diabetes; rather, it seems to be characterized as glucose intolerance, which is exactly what the nephrologist noted in my test interpretation.

To whom it may concern,

I would appreciate your perspective on this test interpretation, keeping in mind that I am currently pregnant.

Iron levels are currently sitting at 26, which falls within the standard reference range of 8 to 30.
The TIBC reading came back at 49, which sits right on the very bottom edge of the standard reference range of 49 to 75 for women.
My UIBC came back at 23, which falls just below the standard reference range of 26 to 59.
My Ferritin level came back at 100.40, which falls comfortably within the standard reference range of 13 to 150.00.

Thank you in advance.

Hi. I need an answer. Honestly, I'm a little worried here, and I'm naturally an anxious person. A few days ago, just out of the blue, I had some blood drawn and did a CBC at work. Since I'm a medical technician by trade, I don't have any symptoms or any actual reason to be running labs right now.
I'll just list the parameters that fall outside the ref units.
Leukocyte 11.2 (Ref: 3.4–9.7). LYM 1.9 (Ref: 1.2–3.9), though lymphocytes seem to be at 2%, which is slightly below the normal 20–46% range. Granulocytes are 8.6 (Ref: 2–7.6), making up 77% (normal range: 44–70%).
RBC 5.77, HCT 0.520. These values are slightly elevated.
I'm just handing over what was automatically detected.
Leukocytosis, lymphopenia, granulocytosis, erythrocytosis.
Two years ago, I had a routine blood panel done. My red blood cell count was slightly elevated, but my doctor didn't think twice about it because everything else was within normal limits. Back then, my lymphocyte levels weren't nearly as low as they are now. The current numbers—specifically these leukocytes and the drop in lymphocytes—are what's bothering me. I don't have any actual symptoms of inflammation. I am dealing with some stress, both personally and at work, but that's it. I have an appointment scheduled with my doctor in about ten days, but honestly, I’m starting to get anxious about it. Pfff.

I’m seriously, truly hoping that someone actually circles back to our doctors on this topic to share some real advice or even just their two cents.

I feel like I've been asking for test interpretations regarding my kid—who's now 5.5 years old—for the last year and a half, but honestly, does it ever end? Is there even an end in sight to all these questions?

So, I've been dealing with this for over a year now—swollen lymph nodes in my neck, my abdomen, and my groin, plus these tiny little lumps you can feel under my armpits. And honestly? I haven't even had an ultrasound done on my armpits yet. Can you believe that?
So, the biopsies came back inconclusive, which is just great, isn't it? Now we're left staring at results that basically say "we don't know," even though the biopsy itself is pointing toward mixed-type hyperplasia with a high proliferation index. Isn't that just the icing on the cake? You go through all that waiting, all that stress, only to have the doctors hand you a puzzle with half the pieces missing. How are you supposed to make sense of anything when the data is this messy?
So, I was looking over my latest blood work, and honestly, it’s a bit of a mixed bag, isn't it? My double T lymphocytes are slightly elevated, and the white cell count shows those reactive lymphocytes sitting somewhere between 4 and 8%, though thankfully the peripheral blood smear didn't mention any atypical lymphocytes. For what it's worth, my leukocytes and erythrocytes look totally normal. Then you've got the eosinophils, which are a little high—but hey, I’m an atopic person, so I guess that explains it, right? But here’s where things get weird. My IgA levels are actually below the lower limit of the test's sensitivity. On the bright side, my hemoglobin and iron levels are fine, but the smears tell a different story. They showed those massive rouleaux formations twice—which is strange because my sedimentation rate isn't even elevated—plus there's hypochromia and now these annulocytes showing up too. It's just one of those things that makes you wonder what's actually going on in there.
Growth and development are all looking normal, and honestly, the viral panel came back totally clean—no infections to speak of. Appetite is good and I’m feeling okay overall. The only weird thing is that I'm dealing with this periodic night sweating. Also, my liver is palpable and feels about 2 cm enlarged.

So, where are we at with all this? Is the kid doing okay?

Hey everyone, I could use some help interpreting these results:

Search: Cervical swab - aerobic bacterial and mycological culture
Note: +BHSB
Amoxicillin antibiotic :S (sensitive to standard dosing) Group B beta-hemolytic strep.
Komentar:
Microscopic slide results: looks like there are fewer than 5 polymorphonuclear leukocytes per large field.

Pregnant, 40g, 34 weeks along. A few months before getting pregnant, I had elevated BHSB, so I "cleared" it up with antibiotics. Everything looked fine at the start of the pregnancy, but now we're looking at this. 😢
Is it actually necessary to start an antibiotic right now at 35 weeks? I've been prescribed Amoxicillin, three 500mg doses a day for seven days. I'm asking because I see from other girls on the forums that everyone else seems to have taken penicillin before labor if they tested positive for GBS during pregnancy. Thanks.

Hey everyone, could someone please give me their take on how serious these numbers actually are, specifically regarding my cholesterol? I was just looking back through my blood work from the last few years, and it seems like those two cholesterol markers have been consistently elevated.

(Blood) Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate - 1h
Result: 1
Unit: mm/3.6 ks
Reference Interval: 2 - 13

(S) Glucose
Result: 6.3
Unit: mmol/L
Reference Interval: 4.2 - 6.0

(S) Cholesterol
Result: 5.6
Unit: mmol/L
Reference Interval: 0 - 5

(S) LDL-cholesterol - calculated
Result: 3.66
Unit: mmol/L
Reference Interval: < 3

Hey everyone... just checking back in.

So, I’m back after my cervical spine surgery—they went with an artificial disc-vertebrosynthesis (cumCFRP)—and now they're running a battery of diagnostic tests for sleep apnea. My family has been telling me that I seem to be gasping and fighting for air in my sleep, so we can't ignore it. My neurologist sent me off to get an EEG first. If anyone here happens to understand what this specific finding actually means:

Throughout the entire recording, the dominant cerebral activity was low-voltage beta waves. There was no significant reaction to visual blocking. No asymmetry or paroxysms were noted. Findings on IFS and HV were similar. Conclusion: Low-voltage beta baseline cerebral activity.

Please, if anyone has any insight, does this have anything to do with sleep apnea? I'm currently sitting around waiting for my follow-up neurology appointment to see what the next move is.

Thanks, and take care.

I'm dealing with some real issues regarding my triglycerides; they’ve been swinging wildly between 3.5 and 18 according to my latest labs. Honestly, I don't feel a thing—no fatigue, no drowsiness, no actual physical symptoms at all. It's almost like those high numbers don't even exist to my body. Is anyone else out there dealing with similar fluctuations? How much attention should I actually be paying to this, and what does the ideal diet look like? I'm looking for the simplest, most efficient way to get these numbers down.

Hey everyone, has anyone dealt with something similar lately?

MCV is sitting at 80.9, which is a bit below the 83.0 cutoff.
MCH is right on the edge at 27.4.
RDW isn't technically out of range, but it’s creeping up at 13.9.

Monocyte % is also elevated at 10.6, though still within the normal limits.

Hi,
I was hoping to get some thoughts on my chest and heart X-ray results.
Female, 46, smoker.

"On the chest X-ray, there is increased lung markings in the left middle lung field, likely due to superposition, though an infiltrate is less likely.
The diaphragm is sharply defined, and the lateral costophrenic sinuses are clear.
The heart is normal in position and size."

Got the X-ray done because I've been dealing with this cough that just won't go away.

Hey, can someone please take a look at these results? 🙂

https://ibb.co/Njmx32k

diagnoses: diffuse stroma, hyperthyroidism, Graves - I'm not taking pills right now because they messed up my liver, but my hormones are all over the place. Also in remission for non-Hodgkin lymphoma and Hepatitis B.
I only got these tests done because my nails turned yellow (I smoke, but I don't think this is from that), so I went to see if it was my liver acting up again.

Thanks in advance 🙂

(S) LDL-cholesterol - calculated

Values like these can often be managed through dietary changes—they aren't catastrophic, per se—but they shouldn't be ignored. High LDL cholesterol remains one of the primary drivers behind premature cardiovascular events.

Do you have diabetes? If so, it’s quite possible that the hypertriglyceridemia is tied to poor glucose regulation.
If you don't have diabetes, it could simply be a genetic predisposition—essentially, due to a deficiency in lipoprotein lipase function, your body isn't metabolizing triglycerides the way it should.

Additionally, alcohol and excessive amounts of refined sugar are the main culprits behind high triglycerides, so cutting those back as much as possible is vital.

With the right diet (cutting out alcohol and sweets), you can often see things return to normal relatively quickly—sometimes within a week if you stay disciplined. If diet alone doesn't do the trick, doctors may prescribe fibrates to get the job done and lower those levels.

Based on the attached test results, you shouldn't be looking at your liver as the culprit for those yellow nails. 😁
