Who should I actually see for jaw pain and clicking after getting my wisdom teeth pulled? Should I be looking for an oral surgeon? I’ve seen mentions of maxillofacial surgeons online, but does that even fall under their expertise? 😕
So, about a year ago, right after they extracted one of my lower wisdom teeth, I started feeling this clicking sensation in my jaw—right near the ear. I suspect it happened because things got a bit rough during the extraction, but now I can feel physical changes when I touch the area, and the pain is definitely ramping up. My dentist suggested I go back to the specialist who performed the surgery, but I honestly don't see how they can help if the issue isn't the tooth itself, but the jaw 🙄
If anyone has dealt with something similar, I'd love to hear your thoughts...

Hey, can someone give me a hand here? I’ve got some skin changes around my backside area and I'm totally lost—should I be booking an appointment with a dermatologist or go straight to a proctologist?

Dr. Hrala is hands down the best dentist in Chicago, near Dubrava.
👍👍
The guy is gentle, patient, and totally chill. He keeps things simple, doesn't charge an arm and a leg, and just does great work.

Start with a dermatologist. If they decide it’s something else, then you go see the proctologist.

Anyone got recommendations for a solid orthodontist? Looking to get some braces put in—just need someone with reasonable prices who won't charge an arm and a leg. Ideally, somewhere in the Southern California area that offers a decent payment plan.

About a year ago, following the extraction of a lower wisdom tooth, I started noticing this clicking sensation in my jaw—right near the joint by my ear. I suspect it happened because the extraction was quite aggressive, but now I can actually feel physical changes when I touch the area, and the pain is steadily increasing. My dentist suggested I follow up with the surgeon who performed the extraction, but I don't really see how that helps; the issue isn't my tooth, it's the actual jaw joint itself. 🙄
If anyone here has gone through something similar, please share your experience...

For TMJ issues, you should seek out a maxillofacial surgeon—just make sure you don't go to the main clinic in Chicago, as they tend to completely ignore these types of complaints. 🙂)

northernhawk29 said:I am dealing with some incredibly frustrating ankle issues. I recently underwent an arthroscopic procedure at Oakland, but unfortunately, it provided almost no relief because they only cleared out a tiny fraction of the problem area. It looks like I’m going to need a major open surgery on the ankle to actually fix this. The surgeon who performed the initial arthroscopy is refusing to take any further action, claiming there isn't much left to be done, but I am certain he is mistaken. My MRI clearly shows the specific area that is causing the obstruction and was missed during the first procedure. Is there any chance a different orthopedic specialist in Los Angeles would be willing to see me and potentially operate on my ankle? I am aiming for the specialists over at Cedars-Sinai.

Bojanić, Miškulin..
A significant portion of their practice is actually dedicated to revision surgeries. 😉

Thanks for the info! 🙂

In the meantime, I actually had to hit the ER because my jaw locked up. They recommended checking out the Mayo Clinic Dental department, so at least now I have some actual options to choose from 🙂

Hey, I'm looking for a female doctor who's maybe a bit younger, easy to talk to, and just generally has a positive vibe. Ideally, someone with experience handling patients dealing with anxiety and depression... if anyone can help!! Looking around the Central Park, Petrova, or Vlach areas, or somewhere nearby...

Thanks 🙂

Shoot me a PM with suggestions 🙂

I'm asking the same thing. Surely there's at least one competent doctor in the entire city. 😕 🙄

It concerns a cervical spine issue; following an operation to remove two discs, the situation has actually become significantly worse. We really need to get a second opinion from someone qualified, but there isn't a single neurosurgeon available in my current city. Thanks.

Rebro, you should just call Paladino to schedule an appointment—though expect to wait about a month. As for Goran mrak and Hrvoje Jednačak, they're also Rebro.

Does anyone know a solid dentist around the Columbus area who won't absolutely break the bank? I need to get some dental work sorted out ASAP because my current guy is doing a terrible job.

I’m on the hunt for a great general practitioner. I'm looking for someone who does more than just hand out referrals—someone who actually knows their stuff, stays on top of medical trends, and is genuinely kind and easy to talk to.
Ideally, they'd be located near the Yankee Stadium area.
Thanks buddy!

If you’re looking for a solid dermatologist in Miami, I’d highly recommend Dr. Neira Puizina Ivić. She practices at the local university hospital, so as far as I know, you’ll need a referral from your primary doctor since she doesn't maintain a private practice. To actually get on her schedule, you have to play a bit of a waiting game: appointments are booked on the 20th of every month. My advice is to show up early in the morning—around 5:00 or 6:00 AM—with your referral in hand and just wait in line to secure a slot. If you miss that window, you're stuck waiting until the 20th of the following month to try again. Just a heads-up, though, she's only in the office two days a week, specifically Thursdays and Fridays.

Hey everyone, I just got my referral for cardiology—looks like an echocardiogram and probably a Holter monitor too. Apparently, the waiting lists are absolutely brutal right now, anywhere from six months to a full year, so I’m wondering if anyone knows where the wait times are actually manageable? Should I be looking at the main hospital in San Francisco or maybe a clinic out in the Bay Area, and honestly, which one is better? I need to turn this referral in soon and I'm totally lost on where to even start...🤷
