Does anyone happen to have a recommendation for a great orthodontist or an oral surgeon down in Miami? I'm looking to get some braces put in... thanks!

@hiddensailor192/">@@hiddensailor192 - I wasn't happy with Dr. Rak. I don't know who you're talking about, but my understanding is that kids under 18 should be covered for free through Medicare.

@crimsonnomad61/">@@crimsonnomad61 - I wanted to ask for myself, since I've been over 18 for a few years now and can't rely on Medicare for free coverage anymore, so I'm hunting for a private dentist who actually knows their stuff without breaking the bank...😉

@hiddensailor192/">@@hiddensailor192 don't get mad, I just didn't realize how old you were. Turns out we're basically the same age. I looked up all of Miami and could only find 10 orthodontists in the whole city, which is pretty pathetic considering there are nearly 150 dentists here.
I can send you the list if you want.

I'm not entirely sure which sub this belongs in, so I'll just drop it here.
My old man just had surgery to have his spleen removed. Now, he’s running a fever...

To get straight to the point: does anyone know who I should reach out to if I want some actual medical advice? He's currently over in Savannah, so I was hoping to call a specialist up in New York City to get a second opinion, but I have no clue where to start or who to even look for.

I stumbled upon one of those "second opinion" websites online, but honestly, they feel a bit sketchy—not exactly what I want to rely on right now. I’d much rather talk to a real surgeon in NYC who actually has experience with these kinds of procedures to see what they think.

Does anyone know of a reliable dentist in New York City (ideally in West NYC, Remetinec, or New Chicago) who isn't strictly private practice, but accepts Medicare?

Specifically, does anyone know who or where I should call if I want a professional opinion? He's in Savannah, so I wanted to reach out to a specialist in New York City for advice, but I have no idea how to find the right person.

I found some "second opinion" websites online, but they don't seem reliable enough to call. I'd prefer to talk to a surgeon in NYC who has experience with similar procedures to get a real perspective.

Check the health section under Anesthesia. They have anesthesiologists and ICU doctors answering questions there. That’s probably your best bet.
Hope it's nothing serious and you get an answer quickly.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid ENT who specializes specifically in throat issues? I wouldn't mind a private specialist, or even someone covered by Medicare.

Does anyone happen to know how I might be able to see Dr. Ivan Bojanić privately? I used to visit him at the Bilic Vision clinic, but it looks like he isn't practicing there anymore...

Miami - dermatologist Vanjak.
I just had a terrible experience with this doctor. She removed a skin tag about 20 days ago, but now something has popped up right in the same spot. I went back in to have her take a look, and she had the nerve to charge me full price for the visit, even after I pointed out the issue. Just thought I'd share a heads-up...

I’ve been scouring the internet, but I can't seem to find any concrete information. My mother needs to undergo a whole battery of tests, and to speed things up, I'm looking into private options.
Does anyone happen to know roughly how long the waiting lists are at NYC hospitals, and what the costs would be if we went through a private clinic for these specific tests?

1. Kidney ultrasound and renal artery Doppler
2. Echocardiogram
3. Creatinine clearance, Biuret, catecholamines in 24h urine, aldosterone/renin ratio in plasma, and cortisol levels at 8h and 17h

🤷

Any help or advice would be appreciated!
Thanks

Hi everyone!

Sorry if I’m repeating something that’s already been posted here—I honestly just don't have the bandwidth right now to dig through 30 pages of old threads. 🤷
I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction regarding a few specialists. Does anyone know where they hold their private practices? It’s usually so much easier and faster to get an appointment that way:

- Dr. Vida Demarin, the neurologist from the Vinogradski area
- Dr. Vanja Zjačić Rotkvić, the endocrinologist from Vinogradski
- Dr. Rosana Troskot, the gastroenterologist at St. Spirit

Also, if anyone has a recommendation for a good, approachable GP here in New York City, I’d really appreciate it. I'm looking for someone who won't be stingy with referrals or start counting every single pill they prescribe—that kind of thing just makes life so much harder for someone dealing with a chronic condition.

Thanks so much in advance for any help you can give!

Hey, I’ve heard the doctors over at St. Spirit are actually decent—friendly and approachable—which is a massive step up from those guys at Rebro. Because of that, I’m looking for a recommendation for someone who specializes in inflammatory bowel disease. When I go to book an appointment, would I probably be looking at a shorter wait time at St. Spirit compared to Rebro? My assumption is that since Rebro handles way more IBD cases, the queue there must be a nightmare—or am I totally off base?

Rachel Ruiz2, I’m dealing with something pretty similar. I finally managed to snag an appointment at my doctor's outpatient clinic for February! Honestly, I don't think they can keep pushing things back much longer than that. 😢 Trying to get in line at Rebro just to pick up my test results has become an absolute mission impossible. 👎
It's all regarding inflammatory bowel disease.

Dammit
I assume this isn't happening at every single hospital, right?
What about the private clinics? How "specialized" are they actually when it comes to specific intestinal diseases, for instance?

I'm not entirely sure, there are some "specialists" out there, but a lot of them are pretty pricey if you can swing it... but honestly, when things get urgent, 🤷 I'm also trying to look into seeing a specialist through a private practice... I have a feeling it's way faster that way. If I find out what the wait times are looking like at other hospitals, I'll let you know.

Hey there,
Can anyone point me toward a solid orthopedic surgeon in Miami who takes private patients?
I’m looking to get my little one checked out regarding some hip issues—she's 16 months old now.

Does anyone here actually have first-hand experience with Omega Dental Center or the dentists over at Fiziodent in NYC?
