I’m honestly thinking about switching my handle from sylar951 over to Sylar... there's just some inactive dude sitting on it who hasn't posted since 2009, 🙂
I feel like I totally deserve that nickname though!!!

Man joined back in late 2009, has literally one single post, and hasn't done a thing for six years... and now you're trying to tell me his account isn't basically a ghost town?🤔

He was still applying even after 2009. I mean, Nick wasn't just left hanging or abandoned so someone could swoop in and grab him, so I'm telling you again, there's no way you can just take him.

Last time he popped up was May 2010, which means he's been MIA for almost six years now... Does it really need to be another six years before everyone realizes this guy isn't interested in the forum, at least not under that handle?

Alright, fine, forget about my take for a second. I guess I'll just ask more broadly—why isn't there a policy to clear out inactive users? Like, whose call is it to run this forum, and who's actually pulling the strings here? Looking at the member list, it feels like at least 80% of the people haven't logged in forever. You've got old handles sitting there from like ten years ago. I honestly don't see the point in keeping them around...🤔

The admins are the ones running this show, so they handle the heavy lifting.

The new handle doesn't change my identity; I will still be easily recognizable.
The account in question has been inactive for seven years and lacks any posts or an avatar. Based on what I can see, the last login was the very day the account was registered. I am confident the owner has no intention of using this handle, and it would be very helpful for me since it is my actual nickname in real life.

Nah. The whole point of these changes is to help people get a better, more meaningful handle—basically helping users ditch those random strings of numbers. Your request is actually the exact opposite of what we're trying to do here.
