whatever, change is usually a good thing!

anyway, Dennis Hall41, I saw you posting some stuff about TV shows over on the movie forum... I still have a massive soft spot for a solid series! There are some great new ones out, though I guess I rarely actually commit to them. Aside from how Chris Isaak always makes me want to rewatch Twin Peaks (and Fire Walk with Me), there are a few others that just blow everything else out of the water... and this track (from the intro) always feels right paired with the song above. I remember it like it was yesterday, staying up late during summer break waiting for those nightly reruns to come on TV.

could definitely do that again:

woke up this morning

You’re absolutely right, Lisa Davis46, I honestly have nothing more to say about it 👍 😍 except that I’ve already booked my flight and I’m heading back to Chicago just for you... this Saturday. Early in the morning.

Lisa Davis46 said:absolute beginners + let's dance but even without any hype, it just doesn't work. 🙏

I honestly think absolute beginners is a fantastic track; I find myself looping it all the time. 👍

Sometimes you just have to switch things up professionally to keep from losing your mind to the daily grind.

Luckily, I’m juggling two different gigs right now, so this "side hustle" keeps me from feeling stuck in a rut. 😁

Given to the rising

jump the fuck up

I’m really not in the mood for concerts right now.

Anyway, Dennis Hall41, I saw you posting about TV shows over on the movie board... man, I still live for a great series! There’s some decent new stuff out there, though I rarely actually get hooked on anything. Aside from how Chris Isaak always makes me want to revisit Twin Peaks (and Fire Walk with Me), I should probably mention a few others that are just on another level of quality... and this track (from the intro) always hits right when paired with the song above. It totally takes me back to those summer breaks—just waiting up late because there was always some retro summer marathon playing on TV every single night.

I'd definitely watch that again:

woke up this morning

Believe it or not, I haven't seen Twin Peaks, even though I don't think it's really the kind of show I was aiming for when I started getting into this format.

Some of my favorites have to be NYPD Blue, X-Files, Monty Python, or South Park—though honestly, half the episodes in those shows are just okay, nothing special. That’s pretty much all, along with some classic old-school stuff.

You've completely shut me down

Jason Mendoza

I'm feeling pretty damn good this morning.

.))

Ten Commandments

it's the perfect album for a Friday road trip.

I actually enjoy driving him too (it’s not just a Friday thing). But man, his pitch is all over the place when he goes full volume. 😬

just a bunch of crickets 😁

Jason Mendoza said:It’s just one single instance, really, though I suppose my tendency to overthink things means I'll probably still end up obsessing over it later.

Honestly, this is the absolute perfect album to blast on a Friday afternoon road trip.

wiredmason61 said:I actually enjoy listening to him too, and not just on Friday nights, but he really does have a habit of going flat right in the middle of his loudest notes. 😬

It’s honestly exhausting how much people can miss the point when they’re just being willfully ignorant. 😁

Just hit the road toward Chicago, so I’ll be spending this Friday drive blasting Ten; honestly, it’s the perfect album for a long trip. ) div>

44 miles out toward Chicago 🤷 ))

Honestly, one of the most sublime tracks from the 80s—and honestly, beyond that era too.

Madonna

Check out this new find: Rodney Crowell - Triage

I rolled into Chicago at five in the morning yesterday and called a cab, only for the driver to pull up and ask me, "So, where can I take you, little lady?" 😁 Once I gave him the address, he just looks at me and asks, "Are we looking for an Apple ride?" before switching his phone over to the Apple app. 😁

Honestly, the city is absolutely swarmed with tourists right now, and one day the temperature hit a brutal 39 degrees. It was pure nightmare fuel; I could barely wait to get inside, feeling completely alienated from everything around me. 🤦 🤣

there, there

It dropped to 30 overnight, which is absolutely brutal, and now the traffic is backed up everywhere. This just isn't my season.😁

Lykhaeon

Damn it all, I really poured my heart into this, but in the end, it feels like my neurodivergence was the only thing that actually paid off. 😁

Honestly, I think Queen Bey thinks we’ve neglected her a little bit in this thread, acting all emotional and dramatic about it :P )) Not true though... we haven't.
