But on his ig profile, it's almost entirely his own stuff—aside from a few promo or tour posts where the caption mentions it was "posted by YGR staff."
The Instagram content is incredibly high quality; I've actually learned so much from it. It's how I first stumbled upon Christoph Hahn's projects (and solo albums), The Necks, Charlemagne Palestine, and a whole list of other inspiring artists, movies, and books—plus there are some really cool nods to painting and contemporary art. He also responds to a good chunk of messages and comments on his profile, which creates this really nice level of direct connection, leading to all sorts of recommendations among followers. He truly values his fans, too—you don't see that with many artists, but Michael is just different. And yeah, he's fun... he has such a great, dry sense of humor.
Honestly, his most beautiful social media post ever is probably the one about nick Drako. I don't think anyone could have written it better or more simply.
Awesome 😍
Yeah, he’s definitely a unique character. Don't worry, I love how engaged and passionate you are—it’s actually really helpful for me to read your posts because even though I love music, I'm terrible at being disciplined enough to go out and research things on my own. Usually, I only dive deep when I'm listening to an album, so your "albums of the week" are perfect for me. 😁
I don't even have IG, honestly—kind of embarrassing.True, maybe Violent Femmes are a bit of an adolescent band, but they have that energy and sense of humor that always manages to wow me again. It's a bummer they're mostly known by the general public for the hit Blister in the Sun, but I guess that's just how it goes. Hallowed Ground from '84 is so different from their debut—darker, leaning toward folk-country, like it's a completely different band.

I haven't listened to them in ages... For me, Eyesore is my second favorite.
I missed this part... Eyesore is a masterpiece to me. One of my favorite album closers—that fade-out effect at the end... it's like a little apocalypse in song form. 😍
Np
Pere Ubu always seemed to fly right under my radar—but I spent most of the summer introducing them to my bearded better half, so now they're on my playlist more often. This one is great.
