It’s high time someone finally reined in that stallion; he can't just be allowed to gallop across the plains indefinitely...

I just stumbled upon this news story, and it really got me thinking about juvenile criminal responsibility. I'm not entirely sure how much the laws here in the States differ from other places regarding minors, but based on my own experiences and what I read in the media, I get the impression that juveniles are overly protected... they seem to face far too little accountability for their crimes. These two brothers mentioned in the article have over 300 reported incidents of theft and robbery, one of which even resulted in a death classified as manslaughter. Sometimes these numbers feel abstract when we see them laid out, but if I actually tried to count from 1 to 300 right now, I’d probably 🐔
How many more disasters do people like this need to cause before we finally take action? Everyone makes mistakes when they're young, but personally, I would vote for a law stating that serious repeat offenders—whether they are 12 or 17—should be tried as adults after a certain number of felony offenses. It doesn't matter the age. I know some will point to social services and their role in this, but looking at their budgets and staffing, it seems they're severely limited by current laws in terms of what they can actually achieve. What are your thoughts on this? 🍿

Maybe a psychiatrist will have to step in and beat some sense into them if they don't get their act together ☕

I find myself once again compelled to voice my position on this matter, though I suspect my sentiment may be met with indifference or even derision by those more interested in conflict than cohesion. Quite simply, I stand for world peace. It is a concept that should, by all rights, be the foundational principle upon which our global society is built, yet we continue to see endless cycles of aggression and division...

Kids should get a choice: face trial as an adult or opt for reduced responsibility. If they go with the second option, though, they gotta accept losing some other rights too. Not sure which ones yet, but we'll figure it out.

Unbelievable... over 300 felonies on their record, yet they aren't even old enough to qualify for the juvenile detention center...
I truly believe these individuals could become productive members of society if we just gave them another chance, or perhaps several more chances... ha... 🎉

Then, and only then, call the psychiatrist.

Ever since your sister married that guy and ditched her job, I haven't even bothered showing up there. It's all just a complete mess now.
