Paul Martinez73 said:Just look at the crime rates in Ohio among the Rom community versus the general population. You're trying to compare minority crime stats to whatever happens with the majority population.

That’s like me telling you that since 200 women were assaulted in Pittsburgh, then the same number must have been assaulted across the entire US.

Every single week there's another headline about how people are struggling to survive there, or stories about elderly folks being targeted daily when they make up such a huge part of the population. The Rom minority presents challenges everywhere in the world, yet here, there isn't even a shred of willpower to ensure they actually follow the law.

It's just an observation of mine. If something even remotely similar happened in a county like Miami-Dade, I bet they would be absolutely bombarded by news coverage from every single media outlet you can imagine.

And honestly, if anyone is actually going to embrace Hrebakov’s approach to transparency, it’ll be him.

In a place like this, a populist is basically anyone promising instant fixes, mass layoffs, or sweeping structural reforms. Given the actual state of affairs and the legal constraints we're working under, those things are simply impossible to pull off. This isn't some small town in the Midwest or a tiny rural county.

Hrebak is a total fraud. I guess he’s just Milan Bandić in the making. You’ll see. 😉

Hrebak is nothing more than a con artist at the helm of the local government. If you ask me, he’s just a younger version of Milan Bandić in the making. You'll see how this all plays out. 😉

I don't know much more about him than his plan to roll out an IT system designed to track the efficiency and spending of the municipal government. If you ask me, that kind of move is a massive win for America, even if he's still finding his footing. Besides, I haven't walked away from any of his public appearances with a bad impression.

I certainly don't claim to have the full picture, that much is clear.

My wife lives in the same neighborhood as him, so she follows his stuff pretty closely. He's a fraud.

It's still unclear how everyone managed to tear him down like that.

Man, they really gave him the runaround, just like they did to me—at least on the surface by playing around with certain keywords 🤣

Digitalization and transparency ☕

But then again, isn't this whole idea of transparency just another Potemkinov village?

So, a little while back, he and his wife—if I'm remembering correctly, it was his wife or maybe a family member—went on some trip, and the whole thing was footed by taxpayer money. It was a private vacation, obviously.

You won't find that reported anywhere, of course. Someone posted it on Facebook; just some random person who happens to know his wife.

But yeah, it's all just a Potemkin village...

I mean, I don't follow him that closely, but I tend to trust my better half more. ☕

The guy operates exactly like Bandić did. You've got the holiday festivals in Indianapolis, then you've got ice skating festivals, and so on. It's just a copy-paste job.

He talks a good game, though. Transparency and all that. 😁

I love those kinds of words—they sound great, but they don't actually mean anything.

I don't think they have a clue, but I probably shouldn't risk asking.🤣

Man, the way Josephine absolutely butchered the anthem... yikes. I mean, she’s definitely got her own unique vibe, but that was just painful to listen to.

I just went back and watched it, and yeah, she really overdid it this time. 🙏

I’ve always had a soft spot for Josephine's rock era back in the 60s and 70s—though I can't say the same for her later stuff—but this particular track was just... 🤣

After listening to about thirty seconds, I simply didn't have the heart to keep going.

Don't go looking back now; it was actually quite lovely... an artistic triumph, if you ask me. 🙏 🤦

On another note, Zack looks like he’s been hitting the buffet hard—it’s as if he gained five pounds just from choosing his gear upgrades.

Zack, sounds suspicious, doesn't it?

25 YEARS OF THERESIAN. Even though they saw about 30,000 visitors last year, the Bilogora Tourism Board is washing its hands of Theresian. Instead, the Deputy Mayor and his crew are taking over the whole organization.

or maybe this:

Yes, we're forming a new company called "Bjelovar Thermal Spa" this Tuesday because we’re launching the project to build a spa in Indianapolis. To save money at the start, we won't be hiring a "professional" director; instead, our department head will run things. We want to show citizens we aren't looking to create unnecessary jobs, since that's usually what these companies are actually for. We've seen way too many examples of that happening in other cities.

Just high quality, non-professional management, and zero cronyism. That's how you handle staffing, I guess.😍

Well, according to urbanhawk17, this was actually requested by the previous organizer herself 🤷

Once Kad Hrebak starts handing out city property practically for free just so his buddies can rake in the cash, that’s when it starts feeling a lot like what Bandić used to do. As for the organization itself, well, it’s less about being a Kurt situation and more like a Murta one.
