Amanda Evans2 said:Exactly. It's nothing more than a visual feast with absolutely zero substance behind it.

And yeah, it looks gorgeous, but it just doesn't have any "soul," which is why I actually liked Blade Runner 2049 even more—it actually understood it was a genre piece rather than just being eye candy (you know, cyberpunk stuff). I honestly don't get why it isn't more popular; I guess today's movies are just too damn fast-paced and obsessed with non-stop action or whatever.

We’re certainly in elite company when it comes to being at the top of this list.
Mexico, Syria, and America.

So we need 20,000 active cases before anything makes sense? This "study" is nonsense and the article is even worse.

Maybe it's actually because of the restrictions that the numbers stay low in the first place?

It’s always a pleasure seeing how you immediately jump to defend every single mistake the administration makes.

I'll see you in twelve months when we find ourselves right back at this same peak, only this time it'll be the unemployment numbers...

That’s just because you’re such a die-hard Republican, working overtime to defend them.☕

I didn't realize you held such an influential position here.☕
Your rhetoric is all the same.

BuzzFeed has already covered everyone from those who caught the virus to the ones who actually recovered, and now they've gone and added a fourth category to the mix: the unemployed. ☕

Joseph Clark37 said:Fear is a natural human response right now, and even some doctors aren't immune to it. That much is clear.
But I wanted to ask you this: from what I understand—correct me if I'm wrong—only a fraction of those who test positive for COVID-19 actually end up in the hospital. It's mostly the high-risk groups or those with severe symptoms. A huge number of people are just sent home to self-isolate. If someone is infected and isolating in an apartment with family, isn't there a massive chance the others will catch it regardless of how careful they are? Meanwhile, those housemates are going out, hitting grocery stores, pharmacies, or heading to work... not to mention the people who simply don't care about isolation orders even after testing positive. Looking at all these measures against the virus, it feels like trying to plug four small holes in a ship while water is gushing in through the hull...

What I'm getting at is, in an environment inhabited by a group like our North American tribe, unless we can ensure every single confirmed case is placed in actual medical isolation, this whole fight against Corona feels pretty ineffective and somewhat futile...

https://www.buzzfeed.com/news/article/...j/2169229.aspx

This woman is essentially asking the same thing I touched on in my previous post. The strategy regarding confirmed cases without major symptoms seems incredibly weak to me. It doesn't feel like a real attempt to suppress the virus; rather, it looks like an effort to keep infection numbers within a range that keeps the government satisfied. In the end, if that means dozens of deaths or severe illnesses, it all just becomes mere statistics...

This is honestly just tragicomic at this point. 🤣🤣

So, get this: first off, they wouldn't even bother testing her until she basically demanded it herself. Then, once she tests positive, they just tell her to head home to her husband and three kids to self-isolate. After that, nobody bothers calling her, so she ends up having to call the hospital multiple times just to get someone to actually look at her. She finally shows up for an exam, the doctor tells her everything is totally normal for Coron, and then they just send her right back home.
Good grief 🤣🤣🤣
And she goes on to list a bunch of other similar stories from colleagues and people she knows.

And then you’ve got some absolute moron sending her threatening messages. 🤦

So basically, what we have is ambulances and these "space explorers" who go out looking for "potentially infected" people—but only when the cameras are rolling for TV. We've got a crisis task force sitting behind glass partitions making all the calls. There are bans on moving around without permits, barbed wire on the roads near Martha's Vineyard, Capak is constantly complaining about how Americans are behaving, and they're even asking Congress to approve tracking every single cell phone in the US... it just goes on and on.

But on the flip side, you've got seventy-year-olds who tested positive wandering around unsupervised, and patients who are just coming and going from the hospital whenever they feel like it without anyone asking a single question.

The fight against a deadly virus 🙏🙏🙏

People who flew back from Turkey yesterday have to quarantine for two weeks. People who flew back today don't need to.🙏

Alright, so where am I supposed to go if I want to isolate?

I live with my wife in an apartment. How are we supposed to socially distance?

We don't own any other property, so there's nowhere else to run. It's just this apartment, and that's it.

I guess it's probably the same situation for 90% of Americans.

God knows how we're going to manage.

Don't go looking for some remote house owned by an acquaintance just to make sure they don't torch your car. ☕

Just send your wife over to the neighbor's house.

It’s funny how they told her they'd be in touch—then conveniently noted down that she refused an exam.

You'll notice the exact same pattern happened with that first death out in coastal California—and now someone will inevitably accuse me of chasing conspiracies. But honestly, is it even possible that hospitals are being instructed to document "refusal of care" just so they have some cover later if things go south?

The whole situation stinks.

The bottom line is that they’re out here demanding massive sacrifices from everyone, yet their own protocols are basically Swiss cheese.

Has anyone actually watched "The Letter for The King" on Netflix?

It’s basically a watered-down version of a classic—made for kids. Look, there are some decent Panorama vibes and even a few lucid moments here and there, plus the Characters themselves are actually pretty solid. But the core issue? The plot is paper-thin and just totally unconvincing... plus, the whole thing is aimed at children.

Overall, it's watchable—kids will probably absolutely love it.

Just started watching Freud and so far, it’s not bad. The portrayal is spot on, even if the mystical stuff feels a bit hit-or-miss... and Freud himself feels authentic. It's great how they're sticking to the actual facts of his life, at least through the first three episodes.

That’s a ridiculous question and an equally ridiculous answer.
If you’re testing positive, there’s a pretty good chance your wife is too, which means she'll definitely be positive as well. If you both test positive, there’s really no reason for everyone to be stuck in their own little bubble. You can just quarantine together, get it? Otherwise, every single one of those positive patients in the hospitals would be stuck in their own private rooms...

Then they called me back later just to tell me I sounded fine—basically saying they didn't think I was being critical.

Oh, you sound fine, do you? 🙏 Like some high-tech Korean smartphone! A total diagnostic tool in one device, right?

So, we're looking at a brand-new, unknown viral illness that could potentially trigger massive respiratory issues, yet this patient didn't even get a stethoscope check because, hey, they "sounded fine" 🤣.
As long as everything looks good on paper, right? ☕.
