You can grab it right here

Don't even think about overclocking yet, man. You won't gain anything. Wait until you get that new rig set up and you're totally comfortable with everything... then you can push it as hard as your heart desires.

That’s exactly the plan 😁 once I finally pull the trigger on the new build... just building up the nerve right now...🙂 thx 😉

I’ve got an overclocked Intel Core 2 Duo running at 2.4 GHz, and I’ve pushed my graphics card beyond its limits as well...

Can someone walk me through the overclocking process? I've built plenty of PCs, but I’ve never actually messed with overclocking because I don't know the drill—plus, I wasn't about to gamble a $200 CPU just to see what happens. Is there a link out there that explains how to do this properly?

Does anyone happen to know why my PC joystick suddenly stopped working? It was functioning perfectly fine just yesterday.
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, someone help me out with an answer!

...this thread is specifically about overclocking—I'm honestly not sure how you managed to link that back to your joystick...🙄

I have a K8V-X SE motherboard, and I am wondering what the maximum allowable temperature is for this specific board.

I managed to bump my processor up to 3.8 GHz—people tell me I can push it even higher, maybe hit 4.2, but honestly, I’m running that basic stock cooler, so I don't dare touch it.
I'm actually wiping my drive and reinstalling Windows today, so I'll run some tests once it's set up and let you guys know how it goes.

I pushed my processor (Intel Core 2 Duo E6700) to 4 GHz just to prove a point to wiredmarlin5—who was still rocking that basic stock cooler...
Don't even think about attempting something like this until you've upgraded your cooling setup...😉

How much overclocking can I actually get out of an Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 using just the stock cooler?

Nobody knows for sure. Every single chip is different, and it all depends on your motherboard and RAM...
The E4500 has a high multiplier of 11, meaning if you push the Intel to 250, you're looking at 2750MHz...
You don't even need a high-end board for this CPU; plenty of basic motherboards can handle an Intel speed of 250MHz. It's pretty straightforward. Get it?😬

Is it even worth overclocking an Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 using just a stock cooler?

Yeah, why not?
My E4400 hits 1000MHz without even touching the voltage, and a stock cooler can handle that easily...😉

A buddy told me overclocking an Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 won't void the warranty. Apparently, Intel guarantees performance up to 3.0 GHz?

Yeah, right. Like they guarantee you can push it to 3.5 GHz whenever you feel like it, or even 4 GHz on an Intel Core 2 Duo E6700...🙂

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overclocking voids the warranty!!!!

Just wanted to confirm—I managed to push the Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 up to 4.0 GHz (actually 4.02 GHz) without any issues, even using the standard stock cooler...😉

I intentionally pushed it to 4GHz because your ISA is just so...😉

So, I can definitely confirm that the Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 hits 4.0 GHz (actually 4.02 GHz) without any trouble at all using just the stock cooler...😉
Which basically means that if that processor ends up in the right hands—specifically my hands, 🙂 —it’s actually capable of pushing past 4.5 GHz 👍

Bryan, man, you've gotta sell it to me! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🙂

If you push past 4.5, you already know where this leads...🙂
Using air cooling??
