Is there any way to actually smooth things out between my GeForce 8600 and my Radeon HD 2600 using SLI
or am I stuck having to buy the exact same damn cards to make it work?
It feels pretty stupid to go out and drop money on a new GPU when what I have right now does the job just fine for my needs 🤷

I managed to snag this beauty at a local Best Buy, and it’s practically brand new—only been sitting on the shelf for about a month and it still comes with the full manufacturer's warranty... $333I’d honestly sell my entire setup just to get $700 or $800 and some peace and quiet... 🙂

I mean, I’m certainly not trying to force anything crazy out of it, like pushing past 3.5GHz on a 24/7 basis or anything like that... but since I am planning on finally putting together an SLI setup with two 8800GTs very soon, I really do find myself in need of a much faster processor... 🙂

The processor isn't supposed to show up until Friday or maybe Monday... but my 8800GT arrives today, and I've actually got plans to pick up another one next month...

With the motherboard I have, I don't think I'll be able to break past 4.55GHz because the max FSB is capped at 455MHz, though honestly, even hitting 4.2GHz on air is going to be a massive uphill battle...

Hey Mike—that board is pretty old school now... it cost a small fortune back in the day, but I definitely wouldn't drop that kind of cash on it again today...

OT - If any of you guys happen to know someone hunting for an 8800GTS 320MB... let me know!👍
