...come on, let's make it happen! Just please, don't schedule them for an afternoon set while the sun is absolutely beating down... or maybe stick them on one of those smaller stages tucked away in the shade...

while the sun is beating down

Mars Volta😁 live yet, and honestly, seeing those lunatics perform with their wall of sound would be something else...
If they brought out Cave, Mars Volta, maybe even AF... then we'd be talking. I'd actually buy a ticket at that point.☕
The whole Mars Volta idea is killer—we really need to lean on the promoters to stop sleeping on them. Heh.
amberranger said:Volt is problematic because their recent sets have been running two and a half hours long. That is simply impossible within festival scheduling constraints.

If my memory serves me right regarding those other stages over the last few years—I think it was the Bud Light stage last time—they used to book all sorts of random bands and acts.
And you’d get these incredibly dull sets that somehow dragged on forever... sometimes pushing close to the two-hour mark.
So, if some random indie band can stomp around and scream for two hours, I don't see why Mars Volta can't be given the time they actually need on that stage.😎🤷 I mean, they could always just stick to the schedule or whatever...
so what's the actual issue here?

If my memory serves—and it usually fails me regarding the last few years at that secondary stage (I think it was the Bud Light stage last year)—they used to book all sorts of random bands.
And there were plenty of mediocre acts that somehow managed to drag on... sometimes up to nearly 2 hours.
Well, if those random acts could just stomp around and howl for 2 hours, I don't see why Mars Volta can't get the time they actually need on that stage... 😎🤷 They could always just stick to the schedule or something....
Or what's the actual issue here?

Larry Morales12 said:Last year, nothing on the Bud Light stage ever dragged past ninety minutes. And we weren't stuck watching some boring filler acts, either. They were top-tier sets from killer bands: Rise Against, Pendulum live, Dubioza, Skindred, and Flogging Molly. 👍

I've been talking about—and thinking about—that other stage the whole time. The second largest one. About 100 yards to the right of the main stage... 🤷
I can't recall what they called it.
By that logic, the bands you listed were actually playing on the third stage.
I know for a fact that one year that second stage was the Apple stage, if I remember correctly...
You'd get those bizarre sets there—performances that dragged on forever—or just massive, awkward gaps between acts...
Gregory Long70 said:Alright, I don't really get those comments saying "we have two headliners, so there won't be anything else." 🙄
The year before last, we had Kraftwerk, Moby, and Franz Ferdinand...
And last year was Massive Attack, The Flaming Lips, Billy Idol, and Alice in Chains...
