Well, I have this old clunker sitting somewhere... I think it’s running Vist. I haven't even turned it on in years.
Maybe I could dig it out tomorrow and give it a shot (assuming it actually still works, I guess). It honestly hadn't even crossed my mind.

Thanks so much for all the effort and help you've put into this.
So, tomorrow I’m going to run the second computer first, which means I'll be working with the other color next.
I'll be sure to check back in here and let everyone know how it all turns out.

By the way, here is the link for your printer toner page: http://moj-toner.com/printeri/model/epson-stylus-dx4400
(I highly doubt the issue lies with the third-party cartridges)...

Thanks. But yeah... I mean, honestly? It just doesn't seem worth shelling out the cash for the original stuff. Not really.
And honestly, I should probably mention—while I was actually out there hunting for the original part, the folks at the store were practically tripping over themselves to push those generic replacements on me. They were really laying it on thick, I guess.
Honestly, I mean, it almost feels like a better deal to just grab a whole pack of those third-party replacements every single time rather than shelling out for one genuine original. It’s funny how that works, I guess... maybe it’s just me, but the math seems to favor the clones more often than not.
So, I guess if this whole thing doesn't get sorted out... maybe next time when the ink starts running low, I'll try to actually play detective and figure out which specific color is dying based on what I've been printing lately. If that doesn't work? Well, then I might just have to bite the bullet, swap everything out, and call it a day. That's probably my only real move left, honestly. $17 It’s not really that much money, I guess. Not by a long shot.

+$8.25 shipping to Washington, D.C./ $12 for the USA... It's a webshop, after all, so I assume they don't have a physical storefront.
Regardless, the price seems fine.

So, I was thinking about heading down to the local shop today to pick up some ink—honestly, there isn't much difference in price anyway—but I ended up explaining my whole situation to the clerk. They actually suggested it might be better if I just brought the printer in so they could take a look at it before I commit to buying anything. I guess that's probably the smarter move...
