Mark Nelson said:Hey everyone. Quick question—is it actually safe for me to try the keto diet? I’m sitting at over 175 lbs and 5'7", but I am currently on Zoloft and Seroquel. I guess I just wonder if those meds mess with things too much. Thanks in advance.

How tall are you, though? What's your BMI?

It’s common knowledge that Seroquel can cause weight gain... and I personally tried that UN diet that’s supposed to work, but I eventually just gave up on it.😁

By all means, go ahead and follow whatever diet you deem most suitable for yourself. Naturally, ensure you include physical activity as well.

Question for anyone currently on it, Prozac—since we all know Pfizer isn't making it anymore (I sent them an inquiry asking why, but let's be real, I'm definitely not getting a reply) — where are you guys even getting it now? And whose stuff is it? I ended up ordering mine from Germany (the real deal, not some cheap generic version). Now, obviously, it's costing me a fortune; 100 tablets went me about $30. I have no clue if it's still on the list for insurance coverage or if I can actually get reimbursed. Or did you guys just switch to something else entirely? I haven't been able to find anything with the exact same formula.

I pick up the original Prozac at a pharmacy near Pike Place Market. They order it in from Germany.
Pfizer stopped making it because the profit margins were too thin, basically.
At least, that's what my psychiatrist told me.

One box of 100 isn't enough for my monthly dose, so I grab two boxes and end up coughing up about $293.

No tax rebates right now, but I'm keeping all my receipts just in case they ever decide to bring those back.

Honestly, I have no clue what a replacement drug would even be.
I'm really not interested in messing around with different brain chemistry or swapping meds.

Go for it. You can definitely diet.

I've been on Seroquel myself and dealt with all that extra weight.🙂

Anyway, now that the holidays are over, I'm finally getting back on track with my diet. Fingers crossed I actually stick to it this time.
The only thing that really kills me is sugar—that stuff is my absolute downfall.🙂

Yeah, tell me about it... I'm in the exact same boat. 🙂🙂

I've always been on the heavier side by nature, but I actually managed to drop 45 pounds over the last four years after doing this massive diet. I think I might have messed up my metabolism and my health in the process, though.
I mean, maybe all that weight gain lately is just tied to how my body is developing... who knows.

I included an extra table with all the drug prices... does anyone happen to know what it means when a medication's name is highlighted in blue?http://www.medicare.gov/

I spotted it in this supplementary chart—Prozac (clomipramine)—it goes for about $7.75😲😲😲

Has anyone here actually used Arvind or Citram before? I'd love to hear some firsthand experiences—just please don't reply in English if you can help it. Thanks so much!🙂

A cousin of mine is 33 years old and has been on Zoloft for about a year now—he says he feels fantastic. He might have a few drinks more than usual on a Saturday night, but honestly, it doesn't seem to affect him at all. Everything is completely stable because he isn't spiraling into those dark places like he used to be; he’s significantly more upbeat and genuinely happy these days. This leads me to believe that while mixing alcohol with depression is a recipe for disaster, it doesn't seem to cause any visible issues for those who are already well on their way to recovery—though, of course, I am no doctor. Who truly knows how these substances interact deep within the system? Perhaps the damage just accumulates silently, waiting to take its toll down the road.🤷

Is anyone else getting hit with massive drowsiness from Wellbutrin? It’s supposed to wake me up, but I'm just crashing—has anyone else dealt with this kind of reaction??? Even with Cymbalta earlier this summer, I was constantly nodding off, which makes zero sense since both are meant to boost norepinephrine and dopamine... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrhttp://im-smiley.com/imgs/angry/angry010.gif

Hey everyone...
If I go see a private psychiatrist or psychologist, will they actually write me a prescription for Helix?

Please, I need an answer fast—I really don't want to end up in a hospital, it’s just not an option right now.

Thanks guys🙂)

A psychologist can't even write a prescription, and while a psychiatrist can and will, they'll only do so if Helix is clinically indicated for you. A doctor determines the treatment, not the patient.😉

Yeah, exactly.🙂 Psychologists don't write prescriptions. Just a heads-up for anyone wondering why they aren't walking out with a bottle of meds after a session—it’s just not how the system works here. If you need medication, you've got to see a psychiatrist or a GP. It's a separate lane.🙂 🙂

I’d probably just head to a private psychiatrist and lay it all out during the session. Honestly—one of the doctors at the hospital just wrote it for me without much discussion. Why make it complicated?
Can I do it this way? I don't want to throw money down the drain. Honestly, I’m just not in the headspace to deal with them right now—not for the long haul, anyway. I just need some time to clear my head... I'm going through a massive crisis in my life at the moment.

Just book an appointment with a private psychiatrist, tell them you're struggling with anxiety—give them some actual detail there—and mention that you've used Helix before and found it helpful.
But please, be careful not to develop a dependency; if possible, try not to take it every single day, but rather just when things get overwhelming.
By the way, if you find that these issues are becoming more chronic or severe, you might want to consider antidepressants instead.

If you have any previous medical records, bring them with you.
That said, a primary care physician can prescribe something like Lexapro and provide a private prescription immediately.
But all of that is just a workaround; one must be genuinely careful.
