Is xanax actually more effective than Lorazepam when you're dealing with panic attacks?

Man, I don't know. Sometimes it's great because I don't dwell on all the bad stuff, but other times I look like an idiot when I can't recall basic things (like what paperwork I needed for my college enrollment 🤷 or if that specific medication even worked for me 😁).

Grandpa didn't get the surgery yet; they just pushed it off to this upcoming season... honestly, I have no idea what to think about this whole "endless delay" thing they keep pulling.

For me, both worked fine—provided I was also doing psychotherapy alongside them.

Brandon Lopez6 said:Man, I gotta correct myself 🙈.

Back then, I was dealing with a ton of stomach issues—which was also tied to my mental state (nausea and all that)—and this stuff actually helped with that. As for the psychological stuff (panic attacks, derealization, whatever), nothing really changed, but for the heavy physical sensations? It totally nailed the nausea. I gotta give credit where it's due 🙂

(Don't kill me for not remembering this sooner; I was on it from 2010 to 2011, but then I went on a much heavier regimen that basically wiped my memory 😁)

Reading your post reminded me of something my therapist mentioned. Whether she was right or not, she claimed Eglonyl was even used in gastroenterology for patients with ulcers because it supposedly had a "protective" effect on the stomach lining. It was meant to coat and soothe the mucosa. Looking back, I can see how that connects to your comment about the nausea

Yeah, I actually just dealt with that while I was studying for my "stomach issues"—then the nausea kicked in as a side effect from the Eglonyl, so I had to call it quits.

So, just to clarify—Eglonyl forte tablets actually contain sulpiride, which falls under the category of antipsychotics. It basically works on the brain to settle anyone feeling restless, helping them get back to their usual selves.
At the recommended dosage, Eglonyl tablets actually function quite a bit like an antipsychotic—it’s a pretty striking effect.

I haven't personally tried it—but I’m sure plenty of people have.

I've got it. tu Has anyone here actually tried Temu? I’m curious to hear about people's experiences with it—what was the verdict?

Those neuroleptics—they really do something to you.

Yeah, I get it. That's why it hit home for me—my whole thing was anxiety paired with constant nausea.

I know they also give it to people dealing with migraines just to help dial down the nausea.

Look, I’ve been on Lorazepam before and honestly? It hits hard—it definitely does the job.

The real kicker, though, is how insanely addictive it gets. Trying to get off the stuff was four straight days of absolute, unadulterated hell for me.
Between the insomnia and those waves of pure terror hitting me every hour on the hour... man, it was brutal.

Anyone else dealing with weight gain from Sulpiride? I brought this up at my clinic in Chicago and nobody believed me. I gained 18 pounds in just a few weeks. Now, my doctor at the Mayo Clinic just rewrote my prescription for it, specifically highlighting the weight gain and lactation risks. He really emphasized the weight part.
Took it this morning. Nothing yet. Usually, though, the first couple of days with a new med are pure anxiety. I start panicking and then I swear I feel every single side effect, even the ones they don't list in the manual.😁

Hey everyone, I'm new here... just wanted to see if anyone else is on Zyprexa and what kind of side effects you're dealing with. Right now, I'm taking 6.5 mg and honestly? I feel totally spaced out—like I'm just drifting through life unable to actually engage with the real world... does anyone else get that feeling? That's about it.

I'm on Zyprexa myself, and honestly, my only real complaint is the weight gain—I've put on some serious pounds. But look, you've gotta distinguish between what's actually a side effect from the meds and what's just a symptom of the underlying disorder itself. Besides, 6.5 mg is a pretty tiny dose. I used to be up at 20 mg for a while.

For me, the best part about being on Zyprexa is that I can still enjoy a few 🤣 🤣

I was on the 10 mg dose before and—honestly? I was basically a zombie... I couldn't think, couldn't remember a single thing, just a total nightmare. Now that I've dropped down to 6.5 mg, at least my brain is somewhat functioning again, though I still feel like I'm running on half-power... if that makes sense? Like, I’m just a bit slower—it takes me a beat longer to process things than it used to.

That was my experience with Risperdal, too. Eventually, my body just got used to it and that "slow" feeling started to fade 🙂.

As for Zyprexa, it didn't do a single thing for me, so I only stuck with it for about two months.

Look, all antipsychotics have that sedative, slow-motion effect, sure—but that mental fog you're feeling? That's likely just the disorder itself doing its thing, not necessarily the meds.

I was on Zyprexa for a while and, honestly, it was just awful. When I first started, I gained over 45 pounds in just three months. I felt so sluggish and foggy—I could barely move. Everything felt flat, like all my emotions were just gone, and life felt pretty meaningless. My brain wouldn't function properly either, which made being social really hard. As for schoolwork? Forget about it. My concentration was basically nonexistent. I have nothing but bad memories regarding Zyprexa; my doctor actually told me I should stay on it if I wanted to end up with diabetes. Once I finally stopped and they switched me over to Risperdal injections, things improved immediately. The only catch was that the Risperdal caused my prolactin levels to spike drastically, so I had to stop that too... Since then, I've cycled through Haldol and Ebywya for antipsychotics. Right now, I'm taking Ebywya and Zeldox, along with Zoloft, Klonopin, and Cogentin.☕

I’ve been on Vair and Zyprexa, and I have managed to pack on sixteen pounds. 😁
The medication is actually working quite well for me; my concentration has become remarkably sharp since I started taking it, and I haven't felt this focused in a very long time.
Sedation was truly my lifeline, saving me from those crushing depressive episodes and the endless, hollow nights of insomnia.

Is it even worth complaining about it? Honestly, I hadn't realized that was an option. 😍

I haven't🙂
But I suspect that might only apply to people taking much higher doses as their primary medication for different diagnoses, specifically anything exceeding 200mg.
That's great that you aren't having any side effects 🙂 man

Hey everyone,

I'm pretty new to this thread, so I guess I'll just give a quick rundown of where I'm at:
I was on Zoloft for about three years to deal with depression and anxiety, and then my doctor decided it was finally time to try tapering off, which took about three months. I took my last dose of Zoloft at the end of November, and things actually seemed fine for maybe two weeks or so.

But after that, I started feeling those low moods creeping back in—just general lethargy and this mild anxiety that feels more like restlessness. Since things weren't really improving, my doctor put me back on 50mg of Zoloft daily, plus some Xanax (0.25mg twice a day). I've been back on the Zoloft for three weeks now, and I think I started feeling my spark come back and my mood lift a few days ago. The restlessness disappeared about two days after I started the Xanax, though my doctor wants me to stay on it for a little while longer until the Zoloft fully kicks in.

The thing is, for the last two weeks, I've been feeling incredibly exhausted, sleepy, and just totally drained of energy. I actually went to get blood work done about a week ago, and everything—iron levels, all the usual stuff you'd check for these symptoms—came back totally normal. It seems like this all started right around the same time I began taking the Xanax.

Is it possible that being tired all day, feeling drowsy, or having that "weak muscle" sensation could be side effects from the Xanax?
I mean, I've always been a bit of a hypochondriac, so I’m already spiraling and trying to imagine every possible illness that starts out with these kinds of symptoms. 😁

Thanks in advance to everyone for any insight you can share. 🙂

Welcome aboard. 🙂

It is my belief that while certain symptoms may resurface upon discontinuation, one generally finds a much swifter path to recovery once they are gone. 🙂

Let me reassure you right away: based on those symptoms, you aren't facing anything life-threatening. Personally, I suspect this isn't actually being triggered by the Xanax; it feels much more like a manifestation of your underlying anxiety and depression. This will pass. 🙂 How many more weeks on Zoloft will it take before these symptoms finally subside? 🙂 Stay brave.

It might also be worth looking into some psychotherapy at the beginning, provided you can secure an appointment or manage the costs.
