I'm on Prozac too, and the night sweats are real—honestly, I sweat like crazy during the day as well.😬
But at night, it gets so much more intense; I literally feel soaked when I wake up.
Since this is a known side effect of Prozac, there's probably no reason to worry, but why not check in with your doctor if it would give you some peace of mind?

Superman, thanks for that. That traffic comment actually made me fall off my chair laughing.😂
Anyway, my doctor just switched me over to Zoloft. My psychiatrist is all over this because my sex life is basically non-existent right now—dead flat. She thinks this might help. Supposedly, it's great for sexual dysfunction. My boyfriend is thrilled about the prospect, but honestly, I'm just terrified of starting yet another new medication.

I’m right there with you. I immediately start hyper-focusing on every little thing my body does. That’s actually why we gave up on the Wellbutrin in the first place—I started reading through all the possible side effects.😲

Did she just pass her driving test, or did she become a public menace on the road?😂😂

Watch out—public menace is officially behind the wheel. Better stay inside today.

Well, look, people use it all the time because it spikes your dopamine and norepinephrine—kind of similar to how marijuana hits you—so, yeah, that explains why the libido goes through the roof.
I'd bet anything your psychiatrist already has you bumped up to 500 mg. 😁

Honestly, what is there to be afraid of? It isn't like it's going to kill you. Just give it a shot, and if it makes you feel like garbage, you can always go back to your old stuff or try something else entirely.

While you all are busy making jokes, I’ll be over here driving perfectly fine. 🥳 🤣
I have already mentioned that my main struggle is simply the high-pressure nature of the exam itself—you know, being a bit socially anxious can make things feel more intense than they really are. If I ever truly felt like I was posing a threat to other drivers on the road, would I even bother getting behind the wheel in the first place?
I still have a few days left before the big test, so I will let you all know how it goes 😬 (though I plan to stick to just one small glass of wine, and quite early in the evening at that).

Exactly. You should definitely wait at least two hours beforehand so you don't end up feeling shaky while you're driving.👍

I completely understand how daunting it feels to start a new treatment when you're already feeling so on edge that even the smallest thing scares you. But please, give it a shot. You aren't going to die, and you won't lose your mind; at worst, if the side effects are too intense, you can always stop.
People often brush off sexual dysfunction as if it isn't a serious issue, assuming that as long as the meds fix everything else, the bedroom stuff doesn't matter.
But think about it: that kind of thing can cause massive friction in a relationship (I mean, let's be real, anyone would go crazy if their partner showed zero interest for months or years), and it takes a heavy toll on your mental health, too.
I know there are plenty of horny guys 😁 lurking here, but it's just the truth. I haven't dealt with those specific issues myself, but if I ever noticed a lack of interest or anything worse, I'd be asking for a medication change immediately.

I tried some new med once—ended up puking my guts out and hallucinating that dead firefighters were standing in the room with me.👎I was stuck there on an IV, mid-treatment, having a full-blown panic attack. I tried to bolt from the clinic, but this clueless nurse just stares at me, acting all polite while I'm dying inside.😠It was awful. How much are they paying these people, $5,000? Try being a little kinder. I get that you're stressed, but I haven't seen a single decent mood from any of the staff here. You can't even find a bathroom to throw up in without hunting for a key. It's insane. All these doctors and nurses seriously need a basic empathy seminar. Instead of the nurse helping, I ended up being the one comforting some poor girl who looked like hell.😠
Anyway, this Wellbutrin has terrifying side effects. The ones that actually scare me are seizures, nausea, and vomiting. Guess I'll have to start hanging signs around town saying "I'm not having a seizure, I'm not drunk, and I'm not pregnant, you idiots!!"

Has anyone here actually used this medication before? I'm curious to know if it really works and what kind of side effects I should be looking out for. My doctor mentioned that it might take about two months before I start feeling the full effects

I was wondering if anyone might know how to properly transition away from sleep aids, specifically something like Ambien in my case. I've been struggling quite a bit with insomnia lately, and my doctor is hesitant to prescribe a new dose because she's worried about the risk of dependency, but I really do need to get some rest. I suppose I was wondering if there are any herbal alternatives out there, and if so, how effective they actually tend to be?

Zan 😍

It's a solid pill; you don't really start feeling the dependency right away, more like after you've been taking it every single night for a year...

Ambien is total garbage. It's heavy, so honestly, toss it if you can. Though, let's be real, all these hypnotics are basically just putting a Band-Aid on a bullet wound—they cover the surface, but the bleeding underneath never actually stops...

Anything herbal is gonna be way too weak for you; you might as well just drink some chamomile tea...

My doctor put me on Tegretol—it's a mood stabilizer.

Since this thread seems to have stalled out a bit, I figured I’d give it a little nudge 😁
I’ve been on Lexapro for about three and a half months now, but I’m still dealing with occasional panic attacks and honestly just feeling pretty down. Plus, the nausea hits me pretty often, especially some stomach cramps...

On top of that, I’m taking Xanax SR 2 x1mg and then just 50mg of Amisulpride in the morning.

Just headed into work, and man, being out in the field in this heat is brutal 😳

What actually happens to your head or your body if someone starts mixing different types of sedatives, like Xanax or Ativan, and stuff like that? (I’m not exactly an expert here, so my bad if I got the names wrong 🤷),
if they're just popping them on their own... you know, without any doctor's supervision...

Can things get seriously messed up?

Hey there!
So, I've been on Paxil for about five months now, though if I'm being honest, I haven't exactly been the model patient when it comes to my dosage. Instead of sticking to the prescribed 20mg, I’ve been drifting between 10 and 15mg quite a bit. Lately, I've also been leaning heavily on alcohol—sometimes it's hard to even get a buzz going because I've been drinking so much, sometimes for days at a time. My official diagnosis is major depressive disorder, and I did make sure to be upfront with my doctor about these drinking bouts. It feels like I might be heading toward that kind of binge-drinking pattern... and looking back, years ago, I used to treat anti-anxiety meds like they were just candy, popping them whenever I felt like it. I never really sought help back then because I just figured I was someone who got easily irritated, plus insomnia is a constant shadow for me. Anyway, after everything, my doctor gave me some guidance on how to move forward (we actually have pretty great conversations, she really listens), but she wasn't thrilled about my recent drinking episodes—and honestly, who would be? She suggested that instead of staying at 20mg of Paxil, I should gradually transition up to taking two 1mg pills, essentially 40mg daily😲. That sounds incredibly intense to me... has anyone else ever actually taken Paxil at a dose that high?

Well, developing a dependency is easily the most common fallout from doing that.

So, I’ve been officially diagnosed with panic disorder, which comes with some secondary phobic stuff—basically a mix of agoraphobia and social anxiety. My doctor decided to start me on a combination of Zoloft + Xanax.

The plan for the Zoloft is to start with tiny doses and gradually scale up over about eight months. Meanwhile, I'll be using the Xanax just to bridge the gap until the Zoloft actually kicks in. Now, full disclosure: I’ve used Xanax on a short-term basis before, and honestly, it worked wonders as an anti-anxiety tool.

I haven't actually started the Zoloft yet, so I've been doing a little bit of late-night digging online. Since it’s technically classified as an antidepressant, even though it’s being used here for panic attacks and social phobia, I’m wondering about its actual effectiveness. I have this nagging feeling it won't have that same immediate "calming" effect that Xanax provides. I’d love to hear what you all have experienced. My psychiatrist keeps telling me it's practically foolproof—that it’s safe, has virtually no side effects, and is even used for children. But then I go online and read horror stories from people complaining about side effects or worrying about dependency. It’s a bit confusing, to say the least.

🤷
