ambermason16 said:Just imagine... there are still medications out there that I can't even wrap my head around. 😕

I’ve tossed every single one of those "mental health" pills into the trash. I’m sticking strictly to the blue ones—specifically the generic version. I only take them when I’m feeling completely unhinged or when I haven't slept for five straight nights. But even then, I feel like I have to shovel them down my throat just to stand a fighting chance at feeling any kind of effect. 🙄

I don't want to tell you anything you haven't already figured out, but I really hope you realize that this cycle is just spinning your wheels. Insomnia is such a brutal beast because anxiety and all those other struggles we deal with just get magnified when you're exhausted. Then again, when you're anxious, how can you even close your eyes?
Antidepressants tend to have a long-term sedative effect 🙂 I used to struggle with sleep too, but my unknown didn't really help much since I'd just wake up the second it wore off. With antidepressants, you don't have to worry about that quite as much because they stay in your system longer.
It seemed like she had trouble sleeping on Wellbutrin at first, but after a while, she was able to drift off 😬
Everything can be fixed, but isn't it possible to find a slightly healthier way to handle this than what you're doing now?

I've got enough chaos running through my head already; I can't stand it when my primary care doctor keeps insisting I need yet another one...

She can blow her trumpet in C-major all she wants about them being the same, but I know what I feel.

By the way, Valium rocks for me... 😁

Oh, and she caught on to that, so now she won't give it to me... 🙂

Anyway, now I'm begging my mom to have her doctor write me a script ("because at my doctor's office, I'm stuck waiting five hours just to get one single prescription 😢" )

P.S. I just realized you guys are having a full-blown argument over my little blue pills... 😢 Oh, please don't... 😢 ...do you want some Valium? 😬

I do. 🙏 😁 🤣

Are you asking on your mother's behalf? Mine would be thrilled if I even asked. 😬 Besides, she's been asking for months when I'll stop taking them because they just make me gain weight 🙄 and sleep all day. 🙄

Heh, looks like we've got another one of "those" moms here 🧐 join the club! 🙂

I guess there's nothing much to say about rejoflajt. Maybe it’s worth looking into, but I don't have much of an opinion yet. Just one of those things. kaže:
Maybe you aren't quite ready to taper off yet. I guess her doctor hasn't even brought up tapering as an option for you?😲

I guess maybe there's something worth saying about nectarines. Just my two cents. kaže:

Douglas Long10 says: Ugh. At first, I looked at Paxil like it was some kind of miracle drug because it actually kept me breathing, but now? I’d honestly rather toss the whole damn thing into a dumpster. Whatever. I guess I'll just wait and see how things play out. At least I got all the crying out of my system. :D

Kod:
Back in August, I was tapering off Paroxetine, and honestly, I felt like absolute hell. Every single symptom you listed? Yeah, I went through all of them. I was dropping from 20 mg down to 10 mg. It triggered this brutal panic attack that woke me up in the middle of the night. Just pure terror and depression. I even started having those dark, intrusive thoughts—the kind that really hurt. I called my doctor immediately, but since it was a weekend, she wasn't interested in playing around with my dosage. She just told me to take the whole pill.👎
I was doing a little digging online and found out that the antidepressant I'm on is basically just paroxetine. I guess you can taper down by 10 mg, but only on a weekly basis.
So, if you were taking 20 mg daily, that adds up to 140 mg a week. I guess you could try tapering down by just 10 mg, which would put you at 130 mg per week. I think I saw something like that in the Paxil insert online or something. I'm not exactly a pharmacist, but maybe you should double-check.

I went ahead and restarted my full dose on my own. I’m actually heading to see my psychiatrist in about an hour, so I'll run it by her then. I saw another girl posting earlier saying she was dealing with the exact same symptoms. Anyway, I guess I'll just have to taper down slowly—just a tiny bit at a time. We'll see...
Or, more simply, I just am not ready. 🤷

Just take it slow, seriously, go super gradual. When I was tapering off my Effexor, I took my sweet time with it. My doctor actually told me I could just hack away at my dose—like, instead of taking two 37.5 mg pills, I could just cut them in half and call it a day—but I wasn't about to risk that. So, for the first week, I kept doing one 37.5 mg pill in the morning, then in the afternoon, I’d take the other one split down to 18.75 mg. I stuck to that routine for about two weeks before moving on.

Regarding the quoting thing, here's how you do it: :

Robert Collins2 said:Helped you? Yeah, right. He handed you a bottle of Prozac and called it a day. ☕The courts should be handing out subpoenas to patients being misled by all these lies about antidepressants.

Actually, no. After about 50 minutes of talking, we were just hashing out what I might or might not need, and only then did he actually prescribe the unknown, which is basically just Lexapro.

p.s. maybe he gave me some leeway because we both grew up in the Midwest 🙂, plus we even shook hands 🙂

I think I have enough chaos going on in my head already, so I really can't stand it when my GP keeps insisting that this one is just another version of the last...

She can sing it to me in any key she wants, but if I feel like it's different, then it's different.

By the way, Valium actually works for me... 😁

Actually, she caught on to that, so now she won't prescribe it... 🙂

So, I'm currently begging my mom to have her doctor write it for me (since at my clinic, I'm always stuck waiting five hours just to get a single prescription 😢),

haha 😂 and honestly, whenever I see my doctor, I just tell her I want unknown. She tried to push some 10mg Normabel on me at first, but I was like, no, no, I think unknown just fits my needs better 😁, and naturally, I've been getting the ten-milligram dose ever since 😁

Heh, did he give you the heads-up about what Sertraline does to your drive and... well, everything else down there? You seem a little on edge lately, so I’m just hoping that isn't what's eating at you. ☕

Let me get one thing straight right off the bat: I actually follow the treatment plan my psychiatrist here in Chicago 😁 laid out for me. I’m not just popping pills for fun like you are, and honestly, I’d advise against that approach because you might find yourself hooked before you even realize what happened—and you won't even feel it coming, given how long the half-life of diazepam lasts. You should probably ask Robert Collins2 what that term actually implies; they ought to know 😉
. The key, I suppose, is that you shouldn't be taking them every single day in a row; doing it once over the weekend is probably fine.
As for sleep aids, you have options—Ambien is quite potent, not to mention Dormex (I tried two of those once and slept like... well, I don't even have the words for it). Now, I can see Robert Collins2 is probably going to be surprised by that 😁, but I guess it just shows I have a bit of knowledge myself, even if I don't go around flaunting everything I know on this forum like Robert Collins2 does.

Stay healthy and take care 👍

Are you actually directing that at me? I'm not even taking sertraline! Maybe try being a little more careful and realize that this is just a generic version of Lexapro. ☕

Robert Collins2 said:Look, you definitely don't need that crap in your life. I once crossed paths with this total amateur who nearly killed me, and then the creep actually tried to knock me out with enough sleeping pills to sink a ship. Honestly, my body just fights off meds like crazy. Back in the day, I was tossing around 5 mg of Xanax, 75 mg of Effexor, 600 mg of Seroquel, and 25 mg of Thorazine all at once, but now I've scaled it way down to just 37.5 mg of Effexor and 25 mg of Seroquel a day.

😲😲 Am I seeing this right?!😕

well, if you say so... I guess I'm doing even better than that.🥳

Oh, wow, so I guess all those glowing reviews you have for Zoloft are "solidly based" then. Look, doctors hand out Dormicum to patients just to knock them out before surgery, usually at half a pill, and if you're popping anxiolytics and hypnotics every single weekend like they're some kind of harmless candy, you really shouldn't be trying to convince anyone else that this is totally fine or normal. It’s not. It’s dangerous, especially when you're dealing with psychiatric conditions.☕🤮

Let’s try to keep this thread from turning into a massive argument 🙄
Miligram, you have to realize that not everyone shares your perspective on Sakoman and his approach to treatment. On another note, anyone claiming they don't use their medication recreationally while simultaneously suggesting it's perfectly fine to pop some diazepam on the weekend is either lying or simply doesn't know what they're talking about.

Seriously though, I’m built different—my therapist actually told me she’s never seen anyone with my kind of resilience or how much psych meds I can handle without folding. She straight up said even the guys at the VA dealing with heavy PTSD stuff don't take Loquena like I do, and that's a direct quote! 🙂 😬

Look, it's not 😵, honestly. I went through the exact same thing when I tried to get off my Helix way too early. Your body just isn't ready for that jump yet, that's all there is to it. It's really not the end of the world. 😉

Look, guys, these pills have never actually been tested for this. You realize that, right? Nobody has ever actually proven that "chemical imbalances in the brain" even exist. How are we supposed to know what a "correct balance" even looks like? Which specific chemicals need to be present, and in what exact ratios? A test like that has never even been conducted 😢

It’s all just a multi-billion dollar racket run by Big Pharma

I suppose so, but the medication isn't even fully mainstream yet. Once it hits full stride, then things will be 🎉

🤦

First off, every single medication goes through rigorous testing for years before it even hits the market, especially when we're talking about psychotropic drugs.

But hey, if this whole thing is just some massive fabrication and a bunch of treacherous lies, then are these next points also just the delusions of a crazy person—aka, me?

- Insomnia that dragged on for four straight months

- Dropping about 25 pounds

- Suicidal ideation, total apathy, shame, and compulsive behaviors

- Completely withdrawing from the world

- Losing coordination, fine motor skills, and basic logical brain function

- Serotonin syndrome and a suicide attempt

- Ending up in the ER where some butcher basically stitches up my forearms without any anesthesia

- Staying in the psych ward surrounded by semi-conscious patients and nurses who are convinced some little girl cut herself just because of some boy or whatever else

- And then having a rapid recovery thanks to those very same meds you're being so condescendingly dismissive of?

Alright, I'm listening... I'd love to hear your take on that... ☕
