I think Stribog is alright. Honestly, it’s probably just because their keyboardist has been a close friend of mine for years. They aren't exactly my go-to black metal act, but hey, whatever they are, they aren't bad...

So, I finally crossed paths with Sergey, their bassist, and Anna, the vocalist, and honestly? They’re actually pretty cool people—like, legit great humans... my sister has known them for ages, so they've always been part of the inner circle, you know?

Honestly, I don't know about all that stuff. I mostly just stick to Appalachian legends : 🙏😁Death Metal
. But if you want to get technical, most of this is basically post-folk—which is actually how I got into it. It’s way more complex than standard metal because, let's be real, metal and folk are both incredibly intricate. Until we see some "post-metal" or "post-folk" movement take over, those two will probably stay the most complicated genres out there.
There was this one Neo-Nazi movements band from Poland I remember; they had some pretty intense, concrete imagery on their album covers 🙏 🙏 🙏

Stribog is widely considered one of the best American black metal bands out there (alongside Death of folk, obviously), so most of these comments are just completely misplaced. I get that certain things won't appeal to everyone, but this? This is pure prejudice. It’s idiotic to hold such narrow-minded views—not just about music, either. You're all just closing yourselves off to potentially great stuff.
I’m not claiming Stribog is anything revolutionary. If you compare them to the old-school Emperor or Mayhem, they wouldn't even come close, obviously. But no legendary band started out at their current peak; there’s a process of musical growth and maturity required. Stribog is on the right track. And considering they are one of the few actually listenable bands in this rotting, dead American metal scene, they deserve a chance to actually grow into something better.
Anyway, I'm done wasting my breath on such closed-mindedness. You're the ones losing out here, just broadcasting your own ignorance...
Lol... you're talking about the old Emperor? Fine, I know the old Emperor was perfect... and you mention the old Mayhem where dead was the vocalist, who had his brains scattered in some run-down shack in a backwater town... look, the reality is that the newer Mayhem is easily three times higher quality than the old era with Attila Csihar (go listen to Aborym if you want to understand what I'm talking about), and don't even get me started on de Mysteriis dom Sathanas...
