Constantly inconsistent?
Honestly, your momentum swings from absolute rock bottom to yesterday's peak. I think Dodger Stadium might be the only place (if you don't count those joke fans from minor leagues) where you can actually count the heads in the stands during a "small" game, yet during derbies, you still manage to make an impression as a respectable group by our standards. Yesterday’s turnout shows you have the potential to become a serious organization, but like someone else already pointed out (and some of you have noticed yourselves), you need to prove it consistently.
Regarding quantity versus quality, let me be clear: I’m not taking sides here, neither yours nor theirs. 😉
Sure, you can always claim your core 30 are the strongest, most creative, most loyal, most original, toughest, and just plain the best. But then you’ll have three fans from some third-tier club stepping up, claiming they’re better than any trio from any other supporter group, and they’ll be happy to argue it.
By my own metrics, you need an average of about 150 people traveling to away games to even talk about being a serious supporter group. Look, there are smaller cities like Columbus where expecting 150 people might be unrealistic, so their turnouts of 30 or 50 regulars are definitely worth noting. But you simply can't compare those groups to teams that are one or two tiers above them.
I hope you keep this energy up through the end of the season and finally find that steady rhythm. Let’s be real: no fan actually enjoys seeing a weak showing from the rival group.
