Honestly, it probably isn't worth selling. I guess if you just toss in another 4GB of RAM and an SSD, the whole thing might actually fly.

Jerry Roberts21 said:Hey everyone,
I also need to get rid of my old rig. It just sits here taking up space while I'm busy in the US, and I'm rarely online anyway.
The PC is over 3 years old, but back when I bought it, it was built strictly for gaming:
AMD x4 Phenom ii 3.2 GHz
http://www.itsvet.com/proizvod/amd-p...omp_cpu/47/334
8GB RAM Dual Channel 1600MHz (there are still 2 empty slots on the motherboard)
http://www.corsair.com/en/vengeance-...z8gx3m2a1600c8
Sapphire Radeon 7870 GHz edition (1050MHz) 2GB GDDR5 256 Bit
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814202025
The motherboard is an ASRock one; honestly, when I was building this, I only cared that it supported Dual Channel 1600 MHz RAM.
Hard drive is a 1TB Toshiba
Power supply is Cooler Master (or Corsair, I can't quite remember, honestly) 600W
There's also a Samsung LED 23.6" monitor included
Mouse, headset, and keyboard are all Razer gaming gear, but those aren't for sale.
I built this myself. All warranties have expired, nothing has been overclocked, the machine runs smooth as silk, and it’s barely been used (only a few times a year when I'm actually in the US).
I'd estimate it at around $250-$1000 without the monitor, and the monitor is probably about $233, but I think I'll skip selling that since I want to hook it up to my laptop. It's a great monitor, so I'm a bit hesitant to let it go.
What do you guys think? How much could I realistically get for this?

I'm wondering roughly how much cash I could get for a computer with these specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ 2.10 Ghz
Motherboard: Gigabyte M61SME-S2L
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 3600 series
RAM: DDR2 4Gb 800Mhz (1 slot), Kingston
PSU: MS MAV-300W-P4
HDD: Toshiba dt01aca050 scsi (500 Gb)
Thanks! 😁
Adam Moore3 said:Man, that platform is seriously ancient—it's basically a fossil at this point—and honestly, I’m shocked that power supply hasn't given up the ghost yet. If someone actually $200 offers that to you, grab it and consider yourself lucky.
Kenneth Diaz6 said:the PC is running like a beast
after installing those new drivers for some reason.
Hard drive is only 3 months old, cost about $133, might grab a new one in 2 months, paid $117 for the RAM.
Adam Moore3 said:The thing is, we're looking at a totally dead platform here. If anyone actually picks this up, it'll probably just be for a few bucks to run some basic Office stuff, stream a movie, or browse the web—maybe even some really old games for a kid or something like that. That new HDD is going to cost you $117, and honestly, you might only get $200 for it if you're lucky. You definitely overpaid for the RAM since it's just DDR2; it's super old, out of production, and nobody really uses it anymore. Realistically, those parts are worth maybe $200 minus $83. The rest of the build? It’s basically peanuts, unfortunately. If you were to sell everything off piece by piece, you might scrape together maybe $700, but selling it as a whole bundle is a tough sell because it's just too outdated, so I seriously doubt anyone would cough up more than $600 for the whole kit, man.

GPU options: maybe an HD 5770/HD 6770 for about $133 or a GTX 460/HD 6850 if you can swing $150.
Honestly, I'm not even sure if it's worth the investment...
Adam Moore3 said:Here’s what I picked up for $833:
It isn't exactly some high-end hardcore gaming rig, but honestly, you can still have a blast on it. If you feel like it later on once you've saved up some extra cash, you could just pop in a dedicated graphics card and boom—you've got yourself a real powerhouse. A legit gaming machine. 🙂
Kenneth Diaz6 said:Can you drop a link?
I tried looking for it myself, but I couldn't find it—maybe I just missed it. 😁
Adam Moore3 said:Slozen will handle everything for you, part by part. If you decide to go for it, you can just take that whole list down to the shop and they'll put it all together for you, and even deliver it if you need them to. 🙂 I actually built my own rig back when I was looking at cnn.com.
