I’m thinking chocolate and fruit parfaits. Might throw in a third flavor—something like Black Forest or vanilla. If anyone isn't a fan, there will be plenty of cookies 😉

👍👍
Daniel Smith8, you've totally put my mind at ease! 😍 I completely blanked on the whole "just serve cookies" backup plan... Are you planning on setting up stations on different floors too?

The girl who’s planning on picking it up for me mentioned the cheese was incredible at some wedding she went to a while back. By the way, what kind of cakes were yours made of?
Come to think of it, not everyone is even a chocolate person. If I try to make sure every single guest is happy, I’m going to lose my mind... 🙄

Yeah, I'm totally blind🤣 sorry ladies, I completely missed that...
And I'm pretty sure way more people lean toward chocolate or fruit flavors than cheesecake, no matter how good the cheesecake is
Don't stress too much about whether everyone will love it—just grab one fruit-based and one chocolate one so you're covered either way🤷
Mine were a vanilla-chocolate combo, and a ton of people raved about them😍

Daniel Smith8, thanks... they're simple, but they look classy... and they taste amazing🙂

I'm torn between a massive tiered cake and just doing smaller individual ones. Still haven't made up my mind. Right now, I'm just collecting quotes from local bakeries and I'll decide once the numbers come in.

BTW, I am a sucker for a good cheesecake. 😍

So, does anyone here have any experience with those homemade cookies from Karlovac? I mean, I had them once at a wedding and they were honestly incredible, but I’m dying to hear if anyone else has tried them... I just really want more info.🙂

Good grief, Donna Chase12, that sounds like music to my ears. I was actually getting a little worried about how much we'd need per person. We have 20 kg set aside for 130 guests. That’s plenty of 😉

hey ruggedtrucker16, you're gonna have more than enough... honestly, I doubt your guests will be eating nearly as much as mine, especially with this heat

Daniel Smith8, you won't go wrong with the cakes... I've had plenty of people tell me their whole wedding was great, but those little treats were what they actually remembered most

I don't know, but that other cake option is just too damn good to pass up. I'm genuinely torn. 😍
Maybe a hybrid approach—bake some mini cupcakes and then use the big one as a centerpiece on top.

God, why am I overthinking this? It’s just a cake that people will inhale in twenty minutes anyway. 😬

Yeah... honestly, whatever you decide, it’s gonna be awesome👍
I was sold the second I saw the photo, and once I actually tasted them—I knew I made the right call.

Donna Chase12, I think I’m going to grab those pastries from you! Such an awesome idea. 😍 Just a quick question—wouldn't it be easier to just pick up one pastry per person?
Don't get me wrong, I've always been the type of person who thinks more is always better!
🤷

Speaking of cheesecake, my family isn't usually big on cake, but we absolutely fell in love with one specific cheesecake! 😍 It's truly special. I think we'll just stick to that one for ourselves—we'll slice that up and then maybe get some other treats or pastries on the side.

It wasn't a bad call, honestly—it was basically like getting a decent slice of cake... plus we had that massive sheet cake sitting there too, so people could always grab more if they wanted...
And just imagine if you added another 100 cupcakes to your guest count only for them to sit there untouched... you’re looking at throwing $300 straight into the trash for nothing...
In my case, we ended up with so much leftover food it actually felt kind of wasteful—not because people weren't eating, mind you, but because the restaurant just went overboard with everything... so, trust me, don't overdo it... people aren't showing up just to graze, and even those who do come for the food end up stuffed to the gills anyway😉

You've got a point! It seems like you're always worried we won't have enough... 🙄
I absolutely love those cupcakes! Seriously! 😍

Look, just go with your gut on the quantities—do whatever you think makes sense. Honestly, I overbought on the snacks because I was paranoid about running out, and now look at me—I'm handing them out to everyone like crazy. We could've saved some decent cash if I hadn't panicked. It’s funny how much money you end up blowing on stuff you don't even need just because you're worried there won't be enough...
And yeah—hang tight for a bit until you see the actual turnout from people. In my case, I ended up with 50 fewer people than what the RSVP list originally said.

Exactly. I just prefer having everything planned out ahead of time!😁
Actually, that's why I come here—to get the best advice possible! 😍

Fifty people? That’s a massive gap. Any idea why they bailed?
I’m currently staring at spreadsheets, trying to figure out the cake order and thank-you notes based on actual headcount. We have about 140 names on the guest list, but I’m banking on closer to 120. I’ve been counting everyone plus their plus-ones—even if those partners aren't officially "in" yet, there's still plenty of time before the wedding.🙂

Donna Chase12 said:Come on, let me know what she actually said to you

Monica got back to me. She wants me to swing by the bakery in person just to talk pricing. Wedding cake is set at $27, plus $1.00 per mile for delivery.

Got a few other quotes too. Right now, M&M is the frontrunner—their pastries are incredible, and they're practically my neighbors over in 😍. I completely blanked on them at first, but here we are...

Just waiting for the next food expo to try those treats from Absum again. Fingers crossed they're actually good this time.

Oh, and Vincek bumped up the price on those mini cakes listed online to $11 each (they were only $9.25 last time). They did mention some chocolate cups filled with that raspberry dessert they usually sell. Those would be about 15-$6.00 a piece. Not a bad deal, I suppose.

Honestly, my experience with all the jewelers, bakeries, and gift shops I've emailed has been seamless. Everyone responds fast and everyone's polite. 👍

We actually planned for a much smaller turnout, which worked out perfectly for us... honestly, a huge chunk of my girls were either pregnant or dealing with tiny newborns, plus you had the older crowd, people living overseas, folks missing out due to surgeries, illnesses, or family deaths—and some just didn't show because I couldn't make it up to them either... basically, hitting 122 guests was a win in our book... and I didn't even have a final headcount until like two days before the wedding
Daniel Smith8, we didn't even count any new partners or people who weren't really "official" yet... if we had, that number would've jumped by another 30 or so people
and yeah—don't forget to factor in the band, the photographer, the videographer...

Daniel Smith8, if I recall correctly, you were asking about Orizent. I just wanted to mention that they don't really do traditional wedding cakes or sell sweets by the pound. Instead, they offer four varieties of mini cookies, two types of pastry baskets—one chocolate and one fruit-based—and four different kinds of small creamy pastries. The price for the mini cookies is $1.25 per piece, while those cream pastries go for $3.25 each.

Monica didn't even charge me for delivery... plus she hooked me up with those $67 discounts on my last order🙂
and honestly, Vincek is out of his mind with those prices😲
I mean, I'm sure that stuff in the little cups is decent, but man, that price tag is steep... at least for me
