If anyone here is still on the fence about grabbing a Machine Cake from Vincek, let me just say—Vincek is 👍👍👍👍👍👍. Seriously, if I were getting remarried tomorrow, I’d definitely buy this thing again because it was just freaking delicious 😉 !!!

I said the exact same thing. You really can't go wrong with them 😍

Quick question for the group: we’re looking to place an order in about a week (which gives us a month before the wedding). Do they require the full payment upfront when you order?

Look, if they’re chauffeuring it straight to the hotel, you’ve gotta pay for the thing upfront—plus you have to put down a $167 deposit for the stand, which you get back once you drop the stand off after the wedding. But if you're just swinging by to pick it up yourself that day, then you can just pay when you grab it.
I went ahead and paid for everything in advance, including the delivery fees, so they just dropped it right off at the restaurant for me.

Thanks. That was exactly the info I needed. 😘

I seriously have to give a massive shoutout to the pastries from Charlotte (Facebook catering))
Look, I’m not even a huge sweets person, but ever since I tried their stuff, I am freaking addicted!!!🤣🤣🤣 Honestly, if I were getting married right now, forget the wedding cake—I’d demand their cream puffs instead😍

I managed to dig up a few decent photos online that might serve as some inspiration for those of you looking for ideas:

Is that the same Charlotte from over on Main Street?
A friend of mine lives nearby and raves about them—and she isn't even a big dessert person.
Next time I'm in her neighborhood, I'm definitely stopping by.
They've got all those fancy cakes in the window...

Man, I totally agree. 🙏 My partner and I have become absolute addicts too. We've sampled pretty much everything they offer, and nothing has disappointed us. 🤣
It’s just a shame they’re so pricey.

it’s pretty wild hearing that from you—especially since I know you’d be the first one grabbing a dessert at Whole Foods😁

Nathan Cox25, it’s funny how Vincent acts like such a saint when he's dealing with Charlotte... I mean, if you're looking at a cake for roughly 200 people over at Charlotte, you're looking at somewhere between $4,500 and $5,000, and honestly, some places charge upwards of $6,000. So, if anyone actually enjoys those prices, be my guest...

When I first heard that number, I nearly fell right out of my chair.

I don't know, I've never really been a fan of Vincent🤷—especially since his reputation isn't what it used to be...
I'm not sure what wedding cake prices look like in Charlotte, but a bakery over by my place told me $62/lb, because they use some "special" organic stuff with no additives or whatever—I can't remember the exact pitch.
So, I'd assume their cakes are pretty pricey too. Honestly, at this point, I wouldn't even be surprised by those kinds of prices 🤣

Yeah, getting a cake in Vincent actually works out cheaper for me than it would in Charlotte.😉

So, I was at this wedding recently and had a slice of some fancy gourmet cake—you know, that mix of chocolate and sponge cake style? Honestly, it was a total disaster :ne znam: I guess it really just comes down to which bakery you pick, but mine was straight-up terrible 😢

At my first wedding, I went with a flower crown—it looked pretty enough, I guess, but honestly... I could probably bake a better cake at home myself
but that was seven years ago, so let’s not exactly call that a reliable benchmark 😉

The second one? Well, it wasn't exactly a visual masterpiece, but man, it tasted incredible 😁

I just can't seem to find that sweet spot somewhere in the middle 🤣

The pastries from the local bakery aren't really my thing—I’d much rather grab something at the diner over on Broadway. Their ice cream is way better and the desserts are actually decent. For the cakes, they quoted me $800/$300
for a group of 100, decorations included.

I tried Absum and Cashner—honestly, it’s just not my thing. Every single cookie tastes exactly the same. You could close your eyes and have no clue which one you're eating 👎.

I know I'll probably end up working at M&M's or Lido if they'll have me, but whatever... I'm out here sampling cookies from house to house 😂

Ever tried the sweets from the Candy Shop?

Not really.

They're definitely on my bucket list. I started out with the budget brands, but honestly, they just don't cut it for me 🤷. Maybe I'm being extra, though.

Yeah, where all did you try them?
Was it just cookies, or cakes too?

Just those two—Absum (snagged them at Kroger during the Easter sales). And Cashner (grabbed some on my way to work for a party)

EDITT: Just cookies. What I actually need is a cake combo: "regular" and fructose-free.
I was thinking about asking M&M's to do fructose-free slices and regular cupcakes.
Or vice versa.
