Does a truly great cake always have to be made with marzipan?

Quick question 😁
When you order a cake, do you usually have to put down a deposit or 😕
if so, how much is standard?

I'm thinking about ordering one from Little Corner...

Thanks 🙏

Man, I felt like such a pain asking about the deposit, but in the end, she was just like, "Don't even worry about it..." We figured out we had some mutual friends in common, so maybe that’s why she wasn't pushing for the cash.

I'm pretty sure they do... I didn't bother asking since I don't really need them myself...

Just give them a call and find out for sure...

Bond Pro uses those little boxes. $1.00 A box and $1.00 packaging all in one.
We probably won't be using those boxes...

We’ll probably end up with something along these lines—though we’ll likely go with a completely different color scheme 😁

We actually ordered our wedding cake from a small local bakery once, and the owner was incredibly gracious, telling us we could leave whatever tip we felt like, though it certainly wasn't required 😉—so we didn't leave anything extra at the time. We initially reserved our date back in February for an August wedding, then spent May finalizing all the specific flavors and details, even making a few minor adjustments just two weeks before the big day... yet, we didn't settle the full balance until a month prior to the ceremony.

I really can't say enough good things about that little bakery. 🙂

I have a question...
Do you think it’s a bit tacky to include chocolate muffins in a wedding cake spread?😍

The one from NASA is pretty similar, except it doesn't have a fountain and isn't round (we're feeding 500 people, so if it were round, it'd be huge, like a literal truck tire). Ours is square, with two smaller cakes on the left and right connected by stairs where the bride pulls the groom up. It's going to be all white with zero patterns, just some little daisies for decoration (white and green). Honestly, I'm stoked regardless of how it turns out—though I have zero doubt it's gonna look killer. You can't exactly serve a tiny little cupcake to a crowd that big, right? I'll post pics once the wedding is over!😁

P.S. Now that I'm looking at the description again, the main thing that makes it look like the cake above is the stairs. 😂😂😂

Why not? If that’s what you prefer, go right ahead. Who decided everything had to be uniform and predictable anyway?👍

On the 26th... we’re looking at a crowd of roughly 400 people, but honestly, the cake they bring out can be any size—larger or smaller than the official count—because there will actually be several backup cakes in the kitchen with the exact same design and flavor. That way, when the servers start making their rounds, nobody will even realize the difference 😁 (at least, that's what we were told)

We’re expecting about 400 people, but I’m not ordering one massive cake for everyone. Instead, I'll get something for maybe 200 or 250, then have the servers bring out a second round of desserts after ours 👍

I can't recall which user here suggested swapping out the bite-sized finger foods for those big, creamy slices, but that was the idea 👍
Personally, my husband and I aren't even fans of those tiny little pastries—the only thing I actually like is a good chocolate fudge brownie. Plus, half my guests (mostly guys) aren't really into sweets anyway, so...
That's why we're sticking with large, creamy dessert squares instead 😉

That’s what I was getting at...😁
I ended up grabbing some cookies from Trader Joe's—they claim they bake them in-house...

They’re honestly delicious, and they come tucked right into those little paper baskets... you just grab one, maybe two bites, and then... they're gone.
Simply wonderful.👍

I haven't quite decided yet whether I'll pay by weight (roughly $23) or just a flat rate per unit (maybe $1.25)
I still need to hash out the details...
