Charles Moore49 said:From where I’m standing, I find myself wondering why anyone in their third trimester would even attempt to get behind the wheel when I’m currently sitting at twenty-one weeks and practically confined to my bed... over these last five months, I haven't really stepped foot outside unless it was for a doctor's appointment, and even then, someone else had to drive me every single time. Honestly, the idea of driving is completely out of the question for me because just sitting in a car and feeling the bumps in the road is unbearable, let alone trying to adjust the seat back into some sort of reclined position—which isn't exactly comfortable either... I spend most of my day avoiding sitting or standing altogether, just staying horizontal as much as possible... so, I truly can't wrap my head around how there are pregnant women out there who don't find that position agonizing and can just drive around without a second thought... since this level of discomfort has become my "new normal"... it’s hard for me to sit up, lie down, or even get out of bed easily, and once I do sit for a bit, I feel this intense pressure, though it’s not even as if I’ve gained an excessive amount of weight... I don't even know what a "normal" pregnancy feels like anymore because these struggles have just become part of my daily life, so I’m genuinely surprised to hear about people who are practically running marathons right up until their due date...
I wish I could be one of those people, and I’ll admit I feel a little envious of all the healthy, active moms-to-be out there (so please don't take offense at my first sentence)... I suspect that when people comment on this, they aren't trying to be unkind, but rather they just associate pregnancy with being unable to perform certain, or perhaps even all, of our usual everyday activities...😉😁

Oh, I second that!
After being active through half of my first pregnancy, I spent the entirety of my second one on complete rest. They finally cleared me to move around, but it hasn't helped. I simply can't walk, I can't sit, and I can't even get some fresh air. When I'm in a car, I have to sit in the passenger seat and recline the back almost all the way, and even then, I feel suffocated.
The only thing that provides relief is lying on my side.
I used to think pregnancy was just like being "normal," just with a larger stomach. 🤣
I would love to tease those lucky souls out hiking in nature or attending Pilates classes. 😛 🙂

I drove during my first pregnancy even after my due date, and I’m still behind the wheel now. But get this—when I went to renew my driver's license, the doctor actually asked if I knew how much longer I was allowed to drive. I had zero clue, and he goes, "Oh, you should stop by the seventh month." Like, what? Is he worried I'll go into labor mid-commute and have a total meltdown behind the wheel?

And honestly, it drives me insane how my mom keeps trying to change my daughter's name. She’s already sixteen or seventeen years old! There is absolutely no way we are changing it. But she just won't shut up about it, constantly going, "I would choose this" or "I'd prefer that." 🙂

I’ve been driving since day one, and here I am, seven months into this pregnancy. Sure, there were those early days when the morning sickness made it impossible, and now I deal with the occasional backache or those sudden, intense contractions that force me to pull over. But generally? I'm fine to get behind the wheel. What really gets under my skin, though, are the self-appointed experts—those neighborhood busybodies who act like they have a PhD in obstetrics. Honestly, why am I even paying a specialist when these women think they know everything anyway?

So I went for a checkup yesterday without my man, right? And this doctor actually asks if he should mark down that I'm pregnant because he noticed how young I look—like it’s some big secret we're hiding or something. 🤦
As if being pregnant at 22 is some kind of miracle or something.
I mean, okay, fine, I'm not exactly in my third trimester yet, but after looking at all my paperwork from regular visits and tests, and seeing I've already hit the second trimester... honestly, he really didn't need to go there.
Then I actually found myself sitting there trying to justify things by mentioning I have a husband. 🤣

Honestly, it’s getting beyond annoying. Every single day, I feel like everyone is breathing down my neck, asking stuff like, "So, have you guys picked out your godparents yet? You know it's getting pretty late, right?!"

No, we had absolutely no idea... thanks for the heads-up. 🙄

It’s not like I don't already stress about it enough on my own. We just can't seem to settle on anyone, period. Maybe one day we actually will. I mean, I really wanted to have this all sorted before the baby arrives, but if it doesn't happen, it just doesn't happen.

Me too, oh me too... aaaaaaaaaahahaha!
🤣😂🤣
I second everything she just said... my doctor told me that I should stay resting until my next checkup and then I might be able to move around a bit more, maybe even make a quick trip to the CVS...
What kind of trip? I can barely make it from the couch to the bathroom...
And let me tell you, sitting in the OBGYN waiting room halfway through this pregnancy, I was already breathing heavily just like those women right before they go into labor... 😂😂

🤣🤣
Exactly!
I once foolishly tried to walk to a bank just a mile away to set up some standing orders and savings accounts, and I had to stop twice along the way just to catch my breath. I ended up being twenty minutes late for my appointment. two times. 🤣
By the time I was halfway through my pregnancy, I was already breathing heavily in the OB-GYN waiting room, just like women right before they go into labor...😂😂

Yes, by my fifth month, I was already completely wiped out. I was crashing constantly, and at one point, I even ended up on an IV drip just from moving around too much—it was a total circus. I'm getting so crazy that I'll probably walk into my next exam and ask them to hook me up to an IV immediately; 🤣who knows, maybe someone sympathetic will actually grant my wish. 🤣

Man, that sounds incredibly frustrating.
I actually gave in once... and now, with the new name, 🤦, my grandmother comes over and tells me how much she hates it.
I just look at her and say, "I honestly couldn't care less."
Well, hopefully, she appreciates my bluntness as much as I appreciate hers. 😍

It’s frustrating that there aren't any workshops in my town, like Cleveland, covering things like cloth diapering, breastfeeding, or car seats 🙂

I honestly feel like just heading up to New York City for a few days to get all this information at once. I’m a very visual learner; if I see something in person, I can process it and decide what works for me immediately. But reading about it online is overwhelming because there are a million different opinions out there, and I just can't make a decision 🙂.

My friends who have already had kids don't help much—they just complicate everything. I don't even have the energy to argue with them since they all think they know best ☕ 😍

ironjackal20 I completely get where you're coming from—that's honestly just as frustrating for me.
Regarding breastfeeding, our visiting nurse was actually really helpful during our prenatal classes. She mentioned there's a dedicated nutrition and lactation clinic over at the local community health center on Main Street—she suggested we check it out too.
Try giving them a call at 555-0123 and ask to speak with Alice.

Exactly. We have all the time in the world right now, and who knows when we'll actually have the chance to learn something useful again. I really want to, but I just don't have the capacity, which is frustrating. Thanks for the tip!

On another note, off-topic... did you guys settle on plans for the weekend? If the invite is still open, I'd love to join.😍
My only worry is the crowd. I always feel a bit claustrophobic in tight spaces, though I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way.🤣

I totally get you.... I don't have to stay in bed and I handle everything pretty well, so I guess it's normal for me to drive too....
plus I have an automatic😉
bless my heart😍

The hypochondriac pregnant women on this forum drive me absolutely insane—they’re paranoid about every possible ailment, real or imagined, and they spend their entire day spreading that anxiety to everyone else. 🙂

As for me, the clutch is just killing me—my groin actually aches from all the pressing🙂
In the beginning, I could manage it better, but now I can only handle short trips, and that’s about it
I feel pretty miserable because I absolutely hate being dependent on someone else

Honestly, when I think about how much I used to hate automatic transmissions, I realize I wouldn't trade one for anything right now.😍

Look, I mean—I guess I’m a bit of a hypochondriac, but maybe I’m not *that* bad😍
