Edward Rodriguez4 said:Damn straight! I don't know much about this specific thread regarding what bugs us during pregnancy, but I definitely know about another one on here where someone (not naming names!) basically made a complete fool of themselves recently... ☕

Honestly, my husband is the one driving me crazy right now! For real! He's been snapping at me constantly for the last three days... then I end up tearing up—which isn't even like me, I don't cry easily—and he just goes, "Why the hell are you crying?" 🙄
Listen, honey, you better watch how you treat me, because if you keep this up, I'm putting a dash instead of your name on the baby's birth certificate!!!!! 😬
But seriously, I actually want him... ☕

I second that! Though, if I'm being totally honest, I am a bit of a crybaby anyway.

cosmicviper21 said:Look, here’s my two cents on this whole "fat" thing—maybe some people are gonna come for me, but honestly, why should I even care? 🤷 This supposed "weight gain" is only lasting nine months, and besides, those people have been acting like total jerks their entire lives anyway. 🙄 Personally, I actually find it kind of funny when someone tries to call me "fat," because that’s just not how I am naturally, and this is the one specific time where I have a perfectly good reason to be, so why on earth would I let it get under my skin? 😉

I don't find it funny at all, and it definitely isn't "cute," because I've been carrying extra weight my entire life (nothing crazy, but still). It’s like what La Roux says—it's like they think they can just wrap us up in cellophane while we're pregnant...
It bugs me, and I'm not afraid to show it.☕

Man, I just got chewed out myself a few minutes ago because apparently I "need to get away from him since he wants to sleep."😢

Here is what’s getting under my skin: my ridiculous mother-in-law is back from Italy. Why on earth hasn't she stayed there? 😠
And this—for the next two weeks, we're stuck in this sweltering humidity, just thick and 🙄 air everywhere. I was planning to get all the baby's laundry done, but now I have to wait for a decent breeze just to get everything to dry properly.

It honestly drives me insane when people act like I’ve suddenly ballooned out of nowhere. I used to be practically nothing, just a tiny thing on a bed, but once I quit smoking about eighteen months ago, I put on 18 pounds that I just haven't been able to shake—not that I can blame myself, considering all the hormones they pumped into me for the IVF treatments. So, yeah, if we're looking at my pregnancy weight, I actually started with +18 pounds already.
Sure, my belly has definitely grown, but all in all, I've only gained about 4 pounds total so far. Honestly, even if I weren't pregnant, you'd barely notice any difference. But no, everyone is constantly on my case, acting like I'm some kind of glutton who doesn't know when to stop eating (except for my mom, who knows damn well I eat the same way I always have), or making stupid comments about how big I'll be by the end of this. It's all just mindless 😲
nonsense. Everyone is being such an idiot 🙄 and absolutely nobody bothers to ask how I'm actually doing 😢
And get this—even a friend of mine had the nerve to tell me, "Well, now I can finally call you fat." 🙂

real friend👍

I'd love to tell her that since I'm currently armed with pregnancy hormones, I have the perfect excuse to say every single unfiltered, nasty thing that comes to mind right to her face.

It’s driving me absolutely insane that my partner's family has already announced they're coming
right after the baby arrives (though, honestly, there's no guarantee I'll even be in labor by then).
I have no idea how I'm going to feel or what I'll be able to handle, yet they couldn't find it in themselves to push
their trip to the States back until Christmas. I tried to tell them, but suddenly I'm the villain.
Oh my God🙄

I’ve been dealing with some extra pounds myself for ages, and frankly, I feel like I ought to follow your lead and let them know exactly how much this "cute" little poking and prodding annoys me—I'd love to see them all packed off to the middle of nowhere... because if I don't speak up now, when on earth will I get the perfect opportunity?👍

Exactly... seriously, if it bothers you, just tell them. 👍 Why on earth would you let someone else make you feel like absolute garbage? Because trust me, that is exactly how I feel whenever they pull that crap on me... nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't matter how much they talk about their "upbringing" or whatever—I can literally feel that lump forming in my throat, and I swear, I just want to break down and cry right then and there. But what can you even do? You spend all your energy trying not to snap at them so you don't look like the bad guy, and then you're just left sitting there stewing...

It’s honestly eating at me that I have to stay on bed rest... I feel more like some kind of invalid than an expectant mother.. 👎

I can't even tackle basic chores around the house because of the whole "staying still" rule.. I barely get out, maybe just a quick outing on Friday or Saturday nights, and then I'm just stuck at home staring at the TV or messing around on my laptop. It gets so incredibly boring when there's nothing else to do.. 👎

Sometimes I'll grab a coffee here or there, or meet someone up for lunch at the campus dining hall, but even that feels off. I'm constantly overthinking everything—like, I can't walk too fast (and I seriously hate dragging my feet..), I can't sprint to catch the bus (even though I almost always end up racing against the clock to catch my ride), and I have to be super careful that nobody bumps into my stomach on public transit. I can't even hang out in a smoky bar anymore either... which is such a trip, because smoking is totally fine with my inner circle and normally doesn't bother me at all, even if I'm breathing it in for an hour or two a few times a week, but now? Not allowed.. Plus, the weather is getting colder by the day, and soon I won't even be able to make it to the pub. And don't even get me started on the dining hall; it drives me crazy seeing the line stretching all the way down the hallway every single time..

Ugh 👎

It’s honestly been pretty draining lately—I feel this constant sense of nausea, and I just seem to be sleepy all the time, no matter what I do.

You strike me as a really lovely, sharp-witted woman, but honestly, your man could stand to be a little more considerate, don't you think?🤷
Why on earth are you just letting him talk to you like that? I get it, he’s tired, we all get tired, but that is absolutely no excuse to act like a complete jerk, right? Seriously, what is actually going through his head? Just because someone needs a nap doesn't give them a free pass to be disrespectful. Is this really how we're playing things now?

I honestly felt like jumping on my wife’s hood today, which would’ve been a disaster for her windshield😠..so there I am, stumbling out of a shop on Wilshire Blvd with my husband, barely making it across the crosswalk, when my wife rolls down her window and yells, "Can you guys move any slower? This isn't a damn park stroll" 😲!! What a piece of work..
Oh, and by the way, I'm mostly just annoyed at myself for being so worked up☕

🤷
Maybe if I snapped back at him once in a while, he’d actually give me some credit! 🙂
But man, it spikes my blood pressure for like five minutes, then I just move on... though yeah, obviously it's my fault for letting it happen. Sometimes when I read about these women online who have husbands that are all romantic and sensitive, I look at my typical American guy and I swear I could kill him with a heavy frying pan. But whatever! You just learn to live with it 😁
If I'm being totally real about it, sometimes I'm the one who snaps first for no reason, and sometimes it's him. My issue might just be that I go nagging him at the absolute worst times, so then he loses his cool... who knows. If you ask me, it's all just social frustration. He's out the door by 6 AM and doesn't get home until 7 or 8 PM. His shift technically ends at 4, but all that extra stuff he does doesn't get him paid... and then he walks in to find a pregnant wife dealing with a total hormonal meltdown... 😍

As long as you love each other, right? 😍
Oh please, everything we say is always at the "wrong time" for them; we women just talk constantly and pretend we're listening, and then afterward, we don't have a clue what was said, when, where, or why!!!
Being socially agitated seems to be this universally accepted excuse everyone uses nowadays, because let's face it, being tolerant is hard work, whereas it's much easier to just be pissed off and claim "that's just how it is." 🤷
But don't let them get to you—you're doing fine (all pregnant women are). And seriously, regarding that "hormonal imbalance" thing, you should basically be legally protected as an emotionally unstable and unbalanced individual if necessary. 🤣

Honestly, both times I was pregnant, it drove me insane seeing women using hormones as an excuse for everything... some act like they’re dying instead of just being pregnant...
Usually, it was just pregnancy itself that pissed me off because once I actually got pregnant, I realized it's basically the same state as before, just with a different body...

I used to snap at comments I didn't like even when I wasn't pregnant.. so don't give me that "it's the hormones" crap now...

And yeah, I know I pissed you all off😂....

Just enjoy being pregnant and tune out everyone else...

Problem is, you can't always get ahead of those people. As soon as they see you're showing, they start chirping about how big you are, then they start judging you... people are just like that... always looking for a fight.

I guess it just depends on the person, 😉 it seems to me like some people get hit way harder by those hormone shifts than others. It’s kind of like postpartum depression—some women go through it and it's devastating, while others feel totally fine. So, if someone is having a great time, it doesn't mean they should turn around and claim that postpartum depression is just a bunch of nonsense or that those women are just making excuses for "body changes"...

In all honesty, I think you should just be happy you didn't have to deal with all that drama, rather than trying to apply your own logic to everyone else's experience... 😉

Signed!

Don't go treating hormone levels like some casual suggestion. They aren't just minor tweaks to your system; they're the entire engine room. You can't just mess around with them and expect everything to run smoothly. 🙂 I don't mind them one bit—honestly, I consider myself pretty lucky. I know plenty of people who are absolute pros at "cleaning up" their act.

I’ve got this nagging feeling stuck in my head that over in the States—and I can't even remember which specific state, honestly—if a pregnant woman commits a crime, she might actually be able to use some kind of "hormonal instability" defense, much like how a mother dealing with postpartum depression might get a pass.😉

It honestly gets under my skin when people comment that I finally look normal now. 😲 😠
I’ve always been thin on top, but I’m 30 weeks pregnant and up about 15 pounds. Most of that weight is just in my belly and a little bit in my hips, so I don't really get 🤷
my breasts haven't even grown much and my arms look exactly how they did before... I guess I just don't understand why people feel the need to make such stupid comments. 😕
