Yesterday, half the groceries slid right out of the cabinet; thank God the olive oil bottles didn't shatter everywhere. And don't even get me started on how much effort it takes just to bend over and pick things up! 🙂 Honestly, at this rate, I’m just going to stop picking things up off the floor entirely and let my husband deal with the mess once he walks through the door... 😢

That is pretty much exactly what I've been doing for the last two months.☕
Whenever something would hit the floor, I’d just leave it there until my husband walked through the door after his shift.
It’s been a bit of everything, really...😬

It just ticked me off hearing that after my glucose test, I have to sit in a waiting room for two and a half hours before they draw blood again. 😲

They claim I have to stay still and can't even go home, but they clearly don't care that I'll be stuck there surrounded by a bunch of sick people with the flu and whatever else. They couldn't care less!!! 😠😠

And don't even get me started on this testing nonsense. Why am I suddenly banned from eating anything? Not even a little bit of chocolate? It feels ridiculous. And what makes this test actually useful anyway? They hit you with such a massive glucose spike that there’s no way you could ever replicate that kind of overload at home. Why can't they just let me use a standard glucose monitor and call it a day?🙄

It doesn't make sense to me either. I don't even eat much sugar normally; honestly, I expect to feel pretty lightheaded tomorrow because I haven't consumed that much sugar in probably two years. This entire procedure feels completely unrealistic to me.

Oh, and I have no idea how I'll even manage getting home, because here in the States (though I assume it's the same everywhere 🤷), you have to fast for the blood draw, then after you drink that solution, they poke you again at thirty minutes, then an hour—that's four separate times in just two hours.
Plus, I’m going to be starving because I was told I can't eat anything after 6:00 PM the night before. So, from 6:00 tonight until after the test tomorrow (and I already struggle with low blood pressure)—it's going to be a very "fun" morning.🙄

I ended up going out for coffee with my mom, and we just sat there for those two hours waiting for the time to pass.☕
I mean, I only had water because they told me I wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything—which was tough since I was starving.🙂

Can you imagine how much I hated sitting in that cramped, stuffy waiting room filled with people feeling under the weather?☕

Regarding sick leave, not all jobs are created equal. Why take it if you feel fine and the work isn't draining you? 🤷
I don't know what your job entails, but I feel great and plan to work right up until maternity leave kicks in.
I don't see why taking sick leave during pregnancy is considered a given.

Well, I work in education. Specifically, I split my time between two schools and a district office.
Right now, I’m just exhausted. I spend half my classes sitting down because standing is getting difficult (usually, I’m the type constantly pacing the room and hovering over students' desks 😁). My plan is to finish the school year if possible—provided my principal doesn't give me too much grief (one is reasonable, the other is a total dictator). If he pushes it, I’ll lose my temper and then drop a sick leave notice on him without warning 🤣). After that, I'll go on leave starting in September—purely for the sake of the students and finding a sub. It’s easier for everyone if they start the new year with a clean slate.

Tell me about it. I've always been a bit clumsy, but lately, it feels like objects have developed a mind of their own and are actively jumping out of my hands onto the floor.
To make matters worse, my doctor insists I was always like this. Sure, I'm clumsy, but I've never been the kind of person who drops their toothbrush and toothpaste at the same time.
Anyway, I'm avoiding glassware for now. 😉

So, I just called this private lab here in New York City.
Same old routine—show up fasting for the first draw, drink the glucose, then they pull blood again at 60 minutes, and a third time after 120 minutes.
The upside is their waiting room chairs are actually comfortable (had used them before for a beta test) and there’s zero crowd. You might see two or three people hanging around for a few minutes max, but that's it.👍
The downside:$43 👎

Honestly, I’ll probably just pay the extra fee. At least I'll be comfortable and won't catch some random disease like I did at the FBI office last time. There were easily 100 people crammed into that tiny space when I went in for urine and blood work. No room to breathe, let alone sit down.😲 😠

😍 I totally feel that, because what really gets to me is when something hits the floor, it just stays there staring at me until my man comes home to handle it. I just can't bring myself to bend over like that 🤷 so I just end up giving it this little sad look from above and basically saying goodbye to it until we’re both back on the same level again 😍

My blood pressure is through the roof today. 😠 😠
We finally settled on a name and updated everyone who asked (not to mention dealing with a ton of backlash 👎), but now he’s second-guessing everything again. He wants it to be "his suggestion" after all. 🙄

I think the negative feedback from his family and a few "friends" really got to him... 👎

So now we have a deal: he can have "his" name if he stays by my side in the delivery room from start to finish (unless they kick him out or the whole thing falls apart 🙄). Up until now, he refused to even consider coming with me.

There was no way I was agreeing to anything unless "his" name was fine too (Frank), but honestly, I doubt he'll actually show up. Once the drama starts, he'll be out the door running 😁
At the end of the day, there's a 99% chance I'm having a girl, but this constant indecision and breaking of our agreements is driving me insane. 🙂

Adam Evans62, don't let them get to you. If I'm lucky enough to have a girl too, we'll have two little United Nationses 😍
It's one of the most beautiful names out there. For what it's worth, nobody said a single bad word to us (and frankly, I wouldn't care if they did ☕); why are your relatives and friends acting like such jerks? 😢

@Adam Evans62, I honestly think the United Nations is such a beautiful name (much better than something like Fran).
What is it about that name that bothers people in your circle so much? 🤷

Adam Evans62, I honestly feel like you should just completely tune out any relatives when it comes to this stuff and stop sharing those kinds of details with them altogether.
For instance, if they start pestering you about what you're naming the baby, just tell them you're still totally undecided and stuck in limbo. It’s much better than dealing with the headache of everyone's unsolicited opinions and reactions.

I know plenty of people who just had babies and didn't even settle on a name for several days after the birth.😁

On a side note, I am currently in a total bind! I have to narrow my list down to two names, but I don't even have a single boy's name on there yet.🙄
(Since I don't know the gender yet), the interrogation starts immediately: "What's your top choice?" "Which one do you like better?" Blah, blah, blah... look, people, I simply do not knooooow!

Which option is actually better? When are you going to reveal the gender...
When will this happen, how will that work...

Bureaucracy and red tape just drive me crazy. In general—but especially right now.

Between this miserable weather and being sick, everything is just a mess.

Stupid reasons. It’s actually embarrassing to even bring this up because half my family turned out to be total nationalists. 🙄

To them—not everyone, most people just stayed quiet with shocked looks on their faces—that’s a Canadian, basically a Muslim name. 👎So what? What's it to you?
It feels like "certain people" would only be happy if my kid was named Joanna, Anna, or Mary. What can I even say? He’s from the South and I’m from the Midwest. Talk about a clash of cultures. 😛)

Look, I'm definitely not changing my name just because of their narrow-minded bullshit. The only way I’d even consider changing it is if MM actually grows some backbone and stands by me when things get real with the family. 😉 With my luck, they probably won't even like the name. Who knows whose name Frank actually is, anyway? I doubt it's even a typical American name. 🤷)

Amazon???? So what, is it supposed to be Muslim or something??? Honestly, those people are out of their minds. Even if it is, who cares? If you guys actually like it, I don't see any reason why you'd bother changing it. 🤦 People allow all sorts of weird stuff these days. The name is gorgeous! Personally, I think Amazon sounds better than Franka, but both are 👍.

First off, you hit the nail on the head—who cares?
Second, maybe tell them to actually pick up a book once in a while... ☕
It's Middle Eastern? Please. Ever heard of Latin? God, some people are just clueless...
Given how they're acting, I totally get why they're into Frank. Honestly, I have no clue where the name even comes from or its roots; probably just a derivative of Francis or San Francisco or something along those lines... Personally, I can't stand it—not even because of the name itself, but because I know this one obnoxious, insufferable girl who carries it...

Right now, my biggest irritant is actually myself.
Honestly, being pregnant is wonderful—I’m feeling great, and there is nothing quite like those little kicks and stretches to remind you what's happening inside. It's pretty magical, really.

But at the same time? I am counting down the seconds until this whole phase is over and I finally have my baby in my arms. I never imagined I’d feel this specific kind of impatient. 😢
I’m being a nightmare—just constantly getting on my own nerves.

Only 85 days left. (And honestly, that feels like a shorter stretch than twelve weeks ever did. 🤣 ))
