Running Firefox (3 or 3.5) on Windows 7 is acting up:
1. Certain sites (like Gmail) are glitching out—feels like a JavaScript issue or something.
2. Sometimes when I close Firefox, the process just hangs there, so I have to kill it manually in Task Manager.

On the bright side, IE8 is running smooth as butter.

Can someone please just drop a link to a decent watermark remover? I need something that actually works for RTM. I’ve been wasting my time scouring the web for the last half hour, and honestly, every single one I’ve stumbled upon is a total dud.

Hey there, I’m running into the exact same headache, though I'm stuck on the RC version of build 7100... if anyone happens to have a workaround to finally kill that "remove watermark" nag, I'm all ears. Also, while we're at it, does anyone know how to stop Windows from hitting that expiration timer and shutting itself down once it reaches its limit... haha. I realize buying a license is the obvious route, but I was wondering if there might be some other way to keep things running smoothly...

Oh, I totally forgot to mention one more headache—it turns out I can't actually run any games on this Windows 7 machine, even though it correctly identifies my graphics card and all the drivers are installed... so if anyone happens to have a clue or some advice on why that might be happening... please... cheers, and let's go get that win tonight with the Yankees

I finally ditched that piece of junk. I honestly thought they had fixed some of the issues, but it’s still just a massive pile of garbage from the office. For now, Windows XP is still holding up better in terms of stability. I'll admit, Windows 7 feels a lot faster and has way more great features, but it's just not quite there yet... it's still struggling with too many bugs for my liking.

Just remove the watermark

Or just download this script:

You're mistaken, because in my experience, Windows 7 is much more intuitive and comes packed with those extra features that just make sense... It’s like how we used to have those old cell phones that couldn't even send texts, you know? As for raw speed, I actually find Windows XP SP3 to be faster, and quite significantly so at that. I'm running both on separate hard drives, so I can definitely feel the difference when I switch between them... best regards

It’s not a given that XP is faster... I’ve been using it for a long time, and about eight months ago, I spent a few months testing Windows 7. It definitely feels snappier, but it's buggy... just a bit too much for my taste.🙂

And honestly, it's none of your business... I downloaded that garbage and it was useless, at least not for the versions I'm running. I've gone through three of them now... I think this latest one is the RTM build, but everything started lagging on me the second I began installing my software, and then the whole system just locked up. Maybe I'm just having bad luck and caught a buggy release, but I highly doubt it's stable enough yet. I think I'll hold off for a bit longer. 😢(

What's it to you? First thing you say should be "thanks," not acting like you own the place. 🙂

Thanks for the tips.

Best,

cosmicangler57, that "error code 0x80070017" wouldn't be giving you grief if you hadn't burned the ISO at max speed (use 1x or 2x, not 16x)😳

To get Windows 7 activated, you're going to need... ovo Or even better. ovo On that second one, just click "regular." Hang tight for about 30 seconds, type in the phrase from the image above exactly as it appears, and then you can grab the RAR file—it’s roughly 8MB.

To be honest, I’m actually pretty surprised by how well Windows 7 performs. It's been a pleasant surprise. 👍Look, my rig isn't exactly ancient—it's running a Core 2 Duo at 2.4GHz with 4GB of RAM—but honestly? Everything has been running smooth as silk so far.
I haven't run into any issues with Firefox. I just installed the latest 3.5.2 version, and Gmail is running smooth as silk.
I haven't messed around with loading DVD content directly into Windows Media Player, but I can tell you that DVDs—whether they're retail discs or burned ones—play just fine without any issues.
By default, that old Outlook Express app everyone used to know is gone. You actually have to go out and download it now. Windows Live Mail ...or maybe some other apps, like Messenger.

It’s been a week since I installed it—ever since that first beta I downloaded—and honestly, things have been running smoothly... I’m currently rocking the 7100 build and haven't run into any hiccups with drivers or software. The only little snag was that Daemon Tools wouldn't behave for me, though I haven't checked if there's a newer version out specifically for Windows 7 yet. Other than that, everything else is working like a charm. Also, Noah Sanchez39 brought up Windows Live Messenger earlier, and I have to agree—it’s a fantastic alternative to using Outlook.

Could this be related to this? 🤔

I haven't really kept an eye on things since they last updated—wasn't sure if a newer version had dropped yet... I used to rely on PowerISO back when I was running Windows 7, but I suppose I'll just go ahead and download 🙂

Hey everyone,
I've run into a bit of a snag. I set up Windows 7 in a dual boot configuration alongside my Windows Vista setup, but now, ever since I logged in, it keeps prompting me to reactivate Vista because it's flagging the previous activation as invalid. Any idea how to get around this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, I’m running into an issue on Windows 7 RC—I'm actually not even sure which specific build I have right now—but whenever I try to watch a video directly from my Kingston Data Traveller flash drive, Windows Media Player eventually triggers a Critical Error (blue screen). Has anyone else dealt with something similar? And more importantly... does anyone know how they managed to fix it?
Thanks in advance
