Signs of anorexia? in Health ·
Laura Ramirez10, I truly feel for you..
I went through a similar thing myself—though calling it a "diet" isn't quite accurate; it was more of a complete dietary overhaul because I’ve developed this deep fascination with nutrition science and all those nuances of what one should or shouldn't be consuming. Naturally, the results were visible, and I lost a significant amount of weight, though certainly not to the point of being near anorexia or any other extreme health concern. Honestly, I’m perfectly content now because I don't have that excess bloating or the stubborn fat on my legs that used to cling to me, which makes it so much "easier to breathe," if you know what I mean. But yet, everyone around me—from my closest friends to my own parents—constantly invents these ridiculous narratives about how I'm "not acting normal" or how I'm "doing this to myself," and so on and so forth. My mother even went as far as threatening to bar me from attending my high school prom this year unless I gain five pounds (heaven knows what the "normal" amount is supposed to be!), but good grief, now that I am finally happy with my weight—and mind you, I am not malnourished, my BMI is perfectly ideal—suddenly they are all out to make me gain weight again... 😢
so, believe me when I say I know exactly how this feels.
Natural remedies for lowering cholesterol! in Health ·
Good grief, I find myself grappling with this cholesterol nightmare as well, and frankly, it’s almost entirely down to my genetics. For the last two years, I have been trying my absolute hardest to avoid anything remotely greasy—I mean, I really do try—and I am constantly scrutinizing labels to track every single gram of fat, specifically distinguishing between saturated and unsaturated levels, yet my numbers remain an absolute disaster. Of course, I am taking some medication to manage it, though it certainly shouldn't be causing such dramatic spikes. The real kicker? I am only seventeen years old, and during my last checkup while on these pills, my level hit a staggering 8.3; at this rate, one begins to wonder if I am simply destined to drop dead prematurely...

In any case, I am sending all my best wishes your way regarding that recipe, and I truly hope you will share your results so that I might attempt it myself! 🙂
I can't take it anymore... in Health ·
stormyjackal46 said:I can't say for certain whether you actually need to lose weight—nor do I even know how old you are—but I do know that you’ve just described a feeling that is all too familiar to me... that relentless urge to shed pounds, that nagging dissatisfaction stemming from an inability to control what you eat; honestly, I know it all too well. I went through a phase where I held my own child, and eventually, with the help of one of those trendy diet programs, I did manage to drop quite a few pounds, yet the dissatisfaction didn't just linger—it intensified. Now, I have people telling me I'm far too thin, while others claim I look perfectly fine, yet here I am, eating and feeling like a balloon, seeing nothing but excess when I look in the mirror.
Is it perhaps a matter of our perception being warped by a distorted self-image, or our view of our surroundings, or maybe even something much more profound? Personally, I find that speaking with a psychologist helps, even if they can't entirely rewire my brain, since I still haven't quite given up on that dream of extreme weight loss. Perhaps you could try finding someone to talk to? And please, do not carry any guilt for eating, because you cannot lose weight without food, nor can you remain fit and healthy if you starve yourself.

I feel for you completely! I deal with these exact same "issues"—I strive toward some extreme weight target just so I can finally like myself, but the fallout is that everyone now tells me I looked much better before, that I look like a shriveled raisin now, or simply way too skinny. But the trouble is, I don't see it that way; I truly don't understand how they can point out a little bit of extra weight here or there. I suspect this has become something deeper, a psychological struggle, but I've become so overwhelmed by food that my entire existence revolves around what I'll eat next, when I'll eat, what I'm allowed to eat, and when... it's a total catastrophe. I'm stuck in this depression, and it feels as though I can no longer pull myself out of it... and the worst part of all? No matter how much weight I lose, I am never satisfied...
Acne, weight gain... is it Yasmin? in Women's Health ·
Well, it seems I’m not alone in this particular predicament, as I find myself staring down that exact same list of consequences...
Acne, weight gain... is it Yasmin? in Women's Health ·
Good grief, you all have actually managed to spook me now. To give you the full picture, I’ve been taking antibiotics alongside Yasmin—which my dermatologist prescribed to deal with my acne—and honestly, my complexion has been incredible; the breakouts are practically gone. My only real gripe with the Yasmin is that whenever I start a fresh pack, about three days in, I break out in this mild facial rash—just these tiny little bumps—and perhaps, given the antibiotics I'm on, I'm also dealing with frequent bouts of depression and these erratic mood swings. But here is the kicker: despite being relatively young, I feel like I’ve already absolutely wrecked my liver, so if I stop taking these pills, isn't it all just a massive waste? A total disaster, really...
