My dad is such a fighter... always cracking jokes and working hard behind the wheel of his semi...
And get this—he found out about the metastasis just yesterday, and by this morning he was already back in the truck driving... I guess that's what keeps him going.
Sending love to you all..
And my heart goes out to anyone else here who’s lost someone they love
You've gotta fight and keep your head up......
Thanks
my dad couldn't beat that nasty disease, but... I’m pulling for you and sending nothing but healing vibes!
from what I know, he had that micro... whatever it's called, and they say that specific type is the absolute worst.😢
it was even harder for him because surgery wasn't an option (for his lungs)—his spirometry showed he was way too weak, and there was no way he'd survive anesthesia.
they did brain surgery on him in NYC using Gamma Knife, but the lungs... yeah, we were stuck there.
he was a little guy, but man, he was tough as nails and fierce.😢
my family knew (mom and my brother) and the doctor told them straight up he had about 6 months left, but they shielded me from that brutal truth, so I'm just finding out now.
Dad was such a fighter. He never complained, never whined... cancer just couldn't break him. Before the chemo started, he was doing perfectly fine... seriously, just two months ago we were out riding motorcycles together, and then... day by day, it was just something new... a total shock for me, and for him too, when he woke up one morning in the hospital and said, "I can't feel my legs." It was horrific... numbness... the neurologist said it happened because it spread to the bone.
The day before, he fell into a coma. I kept nudging him, but nothing... he's breathing, but he doesn't feel anything... not even that intense pain. Thankfully!! People say he can still hear me... so I talked to him, kissed him... I even left some music playing for him.
I keep asking Mom how much longer a heart can take this kind of stress. Around 8 PM that night, his heart just stopped... and Dad just drifted off. He's not hurting anymore. ................
😢😢
I posted here once before to vent about how much my dad was struggling with his illness (lung and brain cancer)... he finally lost his fight on July 15th 😢😢😢 It’s been just six months since we found out how bad things really were...
I haven't managed to catch up on all the posts yet, so I've got a question... My dad just finished three rounds of chemo (three days straight) and now he's in a three-week break. He had a bone scan today, so we're just waiting on those results. Honestly, he feels like crap right now—dizzy, nauseous, vomiting... It's wild because just yesterday he was feeling fine enough to spend the whole day watching tennis. Does his mood and energy level really swing that much from one day to the next?😕
I have a million questions, but I don't even know where to start. 😢😢
I'm terrified, and I am seriously scared for my dad.😢
How do I make this stop? It’s been going on all day... and could it possibly be linked to the chemo?
Hey everyone. We just got hit with some brutal news—my dad’s dealing with a brain tumor and lung cancer. 😢😢
The doctors couldn't operate on his lungs, but they did a Gamma Knife procedure on his brain at a clinic in Washington, D.C.
He started chemo, and he's already on day three. The first day, the infusion took six hours, and then he was just puking little bits all over the place after. Today, he's been hiccuping constantly all day long. I have no clue if it's from the chemo or what, or how to make it stop. 😕
We are seriously terrified... 😢
