What kind of grade is that, for real? in Movies ·
Christian Myers said:Guy Ritchie delivered another winner with The Covenant. The first hour and fifteen minutes are absolute fire—super dynamic and intense. It drags for about twenty minutes in the middle, but the ending is killer. Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but it’s still great. 9/10

And what about the ninth one?🤔
I feel like I've seen it all before. It’s giving me major "Mark Wahlberg playing a Marine" vibes. ☕

She looks pretty sexy this way, though I wouldn't mind if she went back to her natural color.🕺

Just log in via the link below and drop a quick review for my book IN ENGLISH — honestly, even just one nice sentence in English works if you aren't feeling the long write-up. Please rate the book FIVE STARS — just be careful not to accidentally hit three or four stars...

finally ! We pulled it off! I honestly couldn't stand being at Slemen for one more second. Skiing there? Total circus. Absolute joke. ☕

Whatever. Maybe 5. Milica has a new music video out or something?🍿

Ethan Davis34 said:Some people already mentioned the whole thing about hiding Michael Jordan's face, arguing he's too famous for some random actor to play him convincingly. Honestly, that sounds dumb to me. If we follow that logic, they could have just hidden Elvis Presley's face in all his movies too. 🤦
The whole point of cinema and acting is having the freedom to interpret a character. Personally, hiding his face felt forced; you could tell they were trying way too hard, which made it feel fake. I don't see why they couldn't have just cast a young basketball player or an athlete—that would have actually helped the movie.
The real Michael Jordan is definitely involved here, just like in the documentary, and obviously, nothing happens without his blessing.

Makes total sense to me. At the end of the day, he should be the one calling the shots for himself. 😉
Hey, Sid. What are you doing here?☕
Morning. Thank God that's over. ☕
stormygardener93, how'd you know? Were you just taking shots in the dark?🤣🙏
I managed to keep it under wraps from most people. 👍
Walter Baker2 said:Another couple points difference. Let's go grab two wins in LA; they're gonna choke in the seventh.

Not happening. ☕
Forget mowing the lawn. Between basketball and this incredible weather, I've been out enjoying every second of it! Looks like summer is finally here!!🎉
Honestly, it’s about damn time!🤦
Slept right through my alarm tonight. Pretty sure this cold just drained me completely.
I'm seriously craving some sunshine, the beach, and actual warmth.🕺
🥱🥱 Butler! Man, this kid plays so good. Reminds me of how they played back in the late eighties!☕
velvetbadger11 said:It’s wild how nobody was even guarding Davis when he dropped 40, or Jokić with his 36. Like, is anyone actually playing defense?

Nah! Doesn't matter though. Jimmy is basically playing defense for the whole squad. I'm seriously feeling these first two games. 🎉

Ethan Davis34 said:looks like Spencer Haywood was one of the first guys in basketball to land a deal like that https://boardroom.tv/spencer-haywood-nike-basketball/
it’s Nike again because apparently offering a cut of sales (or in Spencer's case, equity, if I got that right) was the only way they could actually compete with Adidas or Converse. It’s kind of like how the Los Angeles Lakers might offer a player a percentage of a future trade instead of a massive salary when they can't meet the numbers 😁.

"These days, Michael Jordan credits Spencer Haywood for being the first player of such stature to sign with Nike, paving the trail for his namesake multi-billion-dollar brand."

so much for Michael's forward-thinking mom ☕

Interesting. If I remember correctly, they even approached Magic Johnson, but he turned them down.
But man, if this is true, Spencer can brag to the moon about how close he came to being a billionaire! 🤣
I find it hard to believe his mom was really that ahead of her time with the financial stuff. Still, it feels a bit lazy that the movie gave her all the credit.

Ethan Davis34 said:Look, we don't have access to EVERY single contract Nike signed with EVERY athlete, so we can't claim that Jordan's mom was the only one who spotted an opportunity. Everyone loves to brag about one massive win, but we have no idea how many times they missed before that. The movie frames it perfectly using a gambling metaphor: Nike went all in on Jordan, and they hit the jackpot. To me, the most interesting part isn't even the deal itself—it's that Nike had top-tier talent handling the marketing, management, and production. But I guess that’s too boring to mention. People just want to focus on how someone's mom had the guts to ask for 🙄 when nobody else ever thought to 🤣

Obviously that wasn't the only cool part, but since I thought I knew everything about Jordan, that specific detail was what really grabbed me. 😉
I'd love to know if it's actually possible to tell if Jordan was the first pro athlete to land a deal like that, or if someone beat him to it. Maybe Bosti Jackson?🤔

darkjackal70 said:They shouldn't have gone about it with that aggressive attitude Americans love to use.

It was a totally standard move. Given what kind of career Michael Jordan had before and how he proved himself after college, they had every right to make that demand. ☕

But back then, that wasn't how things worked. You couldn't just assume someone would become the best player in the world, no matter how much raw talent they showed as a kid. One injury and it's over. If that had happened, every other player would have started demanding those kinds of deals. This was basically the start of everything, and it's honestly impressive that his mother saw it coming.🍿
