US Box Office hits in Movies ·
"Small Town Secret" would be a killer title for a horror flick. And honestly, this erotic one isn't half bad either. At least these titles sound halfway normal compared to some of the garbage we used to put out back in the day. I’ve always had a massive problem with American movie titles. They just genuinely pissed me off, starting all the way back with *The Cleaners*. 👍

Comedies and animation are always the biggest hits. Seriously, what’s the hold-up with Balthazar? They should just put together a full-length animated feature starring him. Sounds wild, I know, but why not? Or even just bring back a series. I can't believe nobody's jumping on this. It would definitely be a hit and could even snag an award at a film festival in the Czech Republic. We've always been huge there. 🙂
Biutiful (2010) in Movies ·
I’m honestly surprised he didn't snag an Oscar. They checked every single box for an Academy Award win. You've got the actor suffering and slowly dying, a Black best friend, an unattractive wife cheating on him with his own brother, and then that final scene that was clearly meant to seal the deal—that gay romance between the two Asian guys. But nope, they missed it. Honestly, it takes a lot of mental toughness just to sit through this movie until the credits roll. Good luck.🙄

A few solid scenes, and plenty of great ones. Fun little movie.👍

I'm pretty sure it has everything to do with grammar. Writing isn't exactly my strong suit. My bad to anyone who has to suffer through my posts because my spelling is honestly tragic. I'd say I actually like this critic since he gets paid to write reviews. Seems like a decent gig to me. Plus, I dig his style.

I don't get why everyone's getting so worked up over spoilers. So what if he posts them? It's not like it's a crime. The guy's talking about movies and actually making a living off it, which puts him ahead of most people out there. Seems pretty cool to me. If you like reading his stuff, great. If not, just move on.
What's up. Honestly, who actually hates watching movie trailers? I don't get it. For years now, if you're a chill person, you probably show up to the AMC Theatres about 10 minutes late anyway, so those ads are basically a gift. It’s like a little mental reset before the show starts. Plus, whenever I'm meeting up with a buddy and drag them to the theater just so we don't have to spend an hour talking over coffee, those ads give us a perfect window to catch up quickly. Long live the commercials. 👍

Look, let me put it simply. If they’re advertising a 3D movie and charging $13 for it, I expect to actually feel things popping out at me, like being able to reach out and grab water mid-air like in >. Paying $12 just for some 2D flick that's been converted to 3D? No thanks, especially if it hits five bucks extra. That's way too much for me. You seem to think there's no real difference, but I disagree. It's like those fancy theaters with the recliner seats and full restaurant service—they charge a fortune. I don't mind spending the money, but you have to tell me what the quality actually is. To me, this feels like a total rip-off.

feralorca4 said:Maybe theaters should just list which movies have great acting or artistic merit right away? 🙂 That’s all subjective anyway. Honestly, the most basic 3D using those red/blue glasses was the best one I ever saw. No headaches or anything. If you don't like it—don't watch it.

I read the first article, but I don't get it. Have you actually noticed this issue in American theaters? Because I haven't. It seems to me like most of it comes down to the projection itself. I saw The show digitally, for example, and it looked worse toward the end—not because of brightness, but probably due to technical issues. I noticed some noise.

The second topic is about stuff that's always been known. Perspective occlusion, focus... I doubt we'll see those projection issues solved anytime soon. Personally, I HATE 3D. I don't enjoy watching 3D movies, but I don't get why people are making such a huge deal out of it. Some people like it, some don't. Some people love Fast and Furious, while it makes me sick. That's not a reason to stop making the movie. I consider Walter Murch my role model, though. 🙂

Believe me, plenty of people will be perfectly happy with mediocre 3D. That's just how the technology works. There are many ways to pull it off, but arguing that it's some kind of "scam" is just dumb. It's like saying Avatar is a scam just because it's a silly movie... Or that Limitless is stupid. 🤣 It's not even a movie. It's garbage.

I'll be honest, I don't follow your logic. What does 3D quality have to do with the acting or the plot? You can make money, sure, but then you should clearly state what kind of movie it is. If it's just been converted to 3D, the quality and visual experience are automatically going to be lower. Maybe for someone else, it's the opposite of what you're saying. Fine, but if you're praising a film, give a heads-up so it's easier for me to decide whether to see it. Or just let them show Pirates of the Caribbean in both 3D and 2D in Cleveland so people can choose. This is unfair. It has nothing to do with how subjective the acting and story are.

Thor is a total scam too, and even worse because they put it in IMAX. Honestly, I think I’m going to do some actual research before I head to the theater next time. Still, I can't survive without decent 3D. One thing I'm curious about, though—are there any glasses out there that actually have a built-in battery? I heard something about that happening once at a Regal Cinema?
The Hangover Part II in Movies ·
Honestly, if you didn't dig the first one, there's zero point in watching the sequel. This movie is a total formula, plain and simple. It’s just the same ninety-minute bit played out all over again. The only reason it works is because the cast is so damn good—I could watch them go on another round of madness forever. I actually caught myself laughing at Kung Fu Panda the other day just because a character's voice sounded so much like someone from this flick. But look, I get it. Not everyone is into this kind of humor, and if the first movie wasn't your thing, skip the second one.

Look, they should stop trying to scam people who don't fully grasp how 3D tech actually works. They need to start screening high-quality 3D movies, like those dance flicks that are actually done right. Pirated versions are complete garbage when it comes to 3D—it's basically a straight-up rip-off. Either that, or they should just drop the price and be honest about the fact that the quality is way lower. 😠
The Hangover Part II in Movies ·
I don't get why some people aren't feeling this kind of humor. That's fine, but I don't understand how anyone could expect something totally fresh or groundbreaking from this movie. Anyone who loved the first one was basically expecting this exact sequel. It’s the same vibe in a different setting, just with another character getting married. If I'm not mistaken, there's still one single guy left, so maybe we can look forward to another installment down the road. 🙂

See, that’s exactly what I found entertaining, for instance.

This is straight-up robbery. It’s one thing when they actually give you a choice, like in Washington, D.C., where you can decide for yourself. I’ve watched pretty much everything released in 3D because I was totally hooked on the tech back in the day. But honestly, maybe it’s just me, but 3D is complete garbage now. I watched Kung Fu Panda 2 the other day without the 3D effect, and I think I finally kicked my addiction. 😛
Have you ever lied about seeing a movie? in Movies ·
Totally. Honestly, I still lie about having seen Kubrick's Odyssey. It’s just easier. It’s such a cult classic that everyone feels the need to drone on about it constantly. The worst part is that I actually respect Kubrick's work quite a bit, but I can never get through one of his movies without passing out. Since I consider myself a huge film buff, it's pretty embarrassing to admit.😉
The Hangover Part II in Movies ·
I thought the first one was phenomenal, so I know the sequel is going to be great too. Obviously, it’s got the same kind of jokes as the first film. Look, if you actually liked the original, you won't be disappointed here.
Koka i duhovi (2011) in Movies ·
Finally, someone actually remembered to make a movie about Coca-Cola in 2011. Honestly, it's a killer idea. I’m just hoping the quality holds up, maybe even hitting the level of *Ghost in the Swamp*. It’s actually pretty tough to nail kid-friendly movies, so I'm glad this one is happening. As for that nut rambling about nationalism in a children's film—that guy is seriously crossing a line. Look, man, if you don't want to watch the movie, fine, but please go vent on some political forum instead. I've had enough of American films being loaded with political subtext; I really don't need someone preaching about nationalism in a movie for kids in 2011. If we wanted to debate war trash like *The Four Row*, *Black Men*, or *Witness*, we could, but for heaven's sake, this is a kids' movie. So, when is it supposed to drop?🙂
Limitless (2011) in Movies ·
Boring. The ending was abnormally stupid; if it had been even slightly more interesting, I wouldn't have found the movie so dull. But hey, at least there's something to talk about afterward. It’s not exactly terrible. You can watch it and pretty much drift right off to sleep.
