Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
So, what exactly is a toolbar anyway? It’s kind of a random thing if you haven't messed with the settings before. If you want to get one showing up, just hold down the Alt key and head over to View, then hit Toolbars... or whatever you need. Simple enough!

Alright, here it is in English 🤣

but now the page numbers in my footer are driving me crazy... they won't stay in order because every single section starts back at 1, and I just want them to flow normally through the whole document....
I guess I should probably use that "link to previous" option 🤷

Well, you can leave the footer half-finished if that header title is already 😕
Anyway, you can just right-click the page number and select "Format Page Numbers," then pick "Continue from previous section"

I know how to change the color for negative numbers using the minus sign, but I'm stuck on this one.

Thanks in advance

Wait, how are you changing the color for negatives? You could actually just use Conditional Formatting here—just set up a new rule and tell it exactly what color you want to go with🙂
Which version of Word are you using? Back in 2007 and 2010, the process was pretty much like this:
Once you hit the last page or reach the end of the text for exercise 1, just head over to Page Layout, then click on Breaks, and select Section breaks --> next page.
Then, go ahead to the next page and double-click the header area. You should see "Header -Section 2-" pop up, and on the right side, it’ll say "Same as Previous." Just look at the options at the top and toggle off "Link to previous," and you're all set.
You can just keep repeating those steps for as many sections as you need to make.

Nah, unless you're planning on switching over to Linux or finally picking up some genuine Windows software, we aren't really going to be able to help you out here on this forum.

Honestly, there probably isn't any other way besides just doing a clean reinstall of the system. Who knows what kind of mess a program like that leaves behind? There are likely a dozen different things it could have tweaked.
If you're feeling up to it, maybe try Googling that specific crack to see if anyone else has run into this.

I'm planning on picking up some Windows 7 home Premium 64-bit from Best Buy, and I was just wondering—can I install these multiple times? Basically, does my product key work more than once? Like, if something goes sideways with my PC and I have to wipe everything and reinstall Windows, will that same key still be good to go? Also, when I'm doing the installation and I punch in the code, do I need to manually register them, or does the system handle the registration automatically? Thanks for the help!

Of course it works. Just keep in mind that if you're getting OEM Windows, they're tied to that specific machine and you can't move them over to a different computer. But if you grab Retail Windows, you can definitely transfer them to a new rig. Just remember, you can only have them activated on one device at a time.

Windows usually activates itself automatically once you're online.

Maybe try asking if they can cut you a deal on a bulk order like that, who knows? They might throw you a bone and give you a better price.

The answer to what you asked is a hard no.

Change the writing language from English to American 😁

If you can't get it to work or just don't feel like messing with the settings, you can always go to File, Options, Proofing, Autocorrect options... and just uncheck the part where it replaces "i" with "I".
I’m thinking this might be one of those weird glitches with Office 2007 that they actually fixed in one of the service packs—pretty sure it was Office 2007 SP2. If you haven't updated your Office lately because (...), well, there you go. I'm a little worried there isn't a quick fix for it, though maybe you could just grab the original file from work 😕 Savoy over there in that 2003 format and everything should behave itself? Or, you know, just find a way to run the updates on your Office at home.
I guess that section break isn't set to continue from the previous one, but hey, the main thing is that it's finally working out.

By the way, why aren't you just turning your work in as a PDF? You could basically have a bunch of different Word documents all bundled together into one single PDF file.
Just toggle those "Paragraph Marks" on (hit that Click icon) and you'll see exactly what's sitting between those two pages, assuming you haven't already checked it out that way 😕
Section break and seriously, it really isn't that complicated. Honestly, being three generations behind on software isn't even an issue when you have all those helpful tutorials on YouTube.

Look, it’s definitely not ideal to be running unactivated Windows, but it's not like Microsoft is going to remotely wipe your hard drives just because they caught you using an unofficial version. Did you put this computer together yourself, or did someone else set it up for you? Honestly, your best bet is to pop that drive out and test it on another PC, or maybe just toss it in a drawer for a bit to see if things settle down.
It’s because it assumes you want to start a whole new paragraph every single time you hit Enter, instead of just letting the text wrap naturally like it should.

So, if you look up in your settings, go to the Home tab, then hit that Paragraph sub-tab... you'll see this little icon with those up and down arrows next to some horizontal lines. It’s labeled Line and Paragraph Spacing. Just click that, and then select Remove Space after Paragraph. That should do the trick!

Honestly, they probably wouldn't even honor the warranty if there’s any kind of physical damage involved anyway. It might be worth just giving them a call to see what they say 🙂
