Sarah Wilson95 said:Whoa there... you didn't exactly say "no" to Stalin, did you?

I knew right away that Jalnuš wouldn't be able to handle someone like you...😬

I don't get this whole thing about Stalin and Jalnuš.😕 😁

Can someone give me a translation—as in, what was the writer actually getting at here?

"The sun from a foreign sky won't warm you the way this does..." you know the drill. I won't get all sappy on you.

😢

Fair enough.

You're a big boy now. You know how to tell black from white; good from evil; cowboys from Native Americans; partisans from fascists when things get messy. You know when life is just playing games, and when it's serious business; you know when to grab a hot iron with your bare hands and when it's smarter to just wait.
Put on a heavy coat when it's freezing outside.
Brush your teeth.
Keep your fingernails clean.

Then you'll be ready for the real world.👋

Speak up, or there's going to be trouble! 😠 🙂

Still clinging to hope, I see. 😢
I get it. Accepting the truth is hard.

The hardest part is when someone who was right there with you yesterday—fighting side-by-side against a common enemy—suddenly opens their eyes, turns their back, and walks away.

But you have to understand me, old friend.
It happened between your great leader, FDR, and his rival, Stalin, and now it’s happening between us. Well.
There comes a moment when you have to say a historic NO.

No, I won't spend my life running through hills and mountains, searching for five-pointed stars in dark tunnels, sleeping in the mud, enduring brainwashing in the cold, or facing collective party criticism while inventing morning self-criticisms based on a revolutionary record.

The time comes when you finally see clearly, notice the betrayal and lies disguised as friendship.
And you say NO.

I want a Ford on lease. I want a house with a mortgage, a deluxe fridge, to eat imported citrus, drink French champagne, listen to Western music, read forbidden books, visit Norwalk, wear Chanel perfume, dye my hair blonde, wear high heels, and finally escape the dark breath of Phoenix and Brankec krckati, who are always breathing down my neck and refusing to let me live.😢

I know what you're thinking. You think it's fun to spend your whole life walking around with three fingers held high, dancing folk dances, and chanting slogans like "We love our leaders" or "Long live the regime."

But Thompson is my hero now. Right here in Norwalk, I am happy. Surrounded by patriots.
I'm waiting for the day when you, Brankec, and Phoenix join me. When you repent and return to the old faith of our people.
Bring your hats; we'll swap those stars for an 'A'.

Thanks, Ashley Nguyen5🙂, I guess it really is just the flu.

Regarding the Sumamed, I completely get where you're coming from. That’s exactly why I emphasized that I’m generally healthy and don't just pop pills for fun. I didn't take it to "cure" the flu itself.
-The thing is, when you're in the middle of the flu, you often end up with a bacterial infection right after because your immune system takes such a massive hit, so...

And honestly, I panicked. I thought, what if it isn't the flu, but some other infection? Would it be better to just hit it with a dose of antibiotics immediately? That's how doctors handle it sometimes, right?🙂

I called my doctor, but she was very careful about making any diagnoses over the phone—which makes sense.🙂 You can't exactly give out a diagnosis through a phone call.
She told me to come in for an exam, and then she'd send me for testing.😢
But how am I supposed to trek out there and sit around waiting for lab results when I'm dealing with this level of chronic exhaustion and a fever?

If things don't start looking like standard flu indicators within a day or two, and I still feel terrible, then I'll head in for the tests.

I'm looking for some advice.
I'm honestly not sure what the symptoms for this year's flu look like.

Since Monday, I've been running quite a high fever, hitting 39°C at its peak. I've been using Lupacet to bring it down. I don't have any typical cold symptoms—nothing really hurts, except for this intense headache and eye pain (especially sensitivity to light) that kicks in whenever my temperature starts rising.
I'm just sleeping day and night; I have absolutely no energy or motivation for anything.
I assumed it was just the flu, so I haven't seen a doctor yet, but now I'm starting to feel a bit anxious—what if it's something else?
Yesterday, I took Sumamed as a preventative measure, just in case there's an infection somewhere that I haven't noticed myself.
I'm not usually one for medication—don't worry, I don't just take pills for no reason—but this time I took Sumamed just to be safe, considering I almost never take medicine.

That's why I'm asking for your input: is it possible to have the flu WITHOUT any cold symptoms? Is that how it's behaving this year?
And how many days is it considered normal to run a high fever?😢

Oh right, 😁

I completely forgot about the links! 😕

That means you'll have to include even more of them from now on.

Exactly!
But go ahead—read the first eleven replies and tell me who actually matters. Or better yet, read the first fifteen replies and see who holds any weight!!! Go through the last thirty pages and tell me who counts!!!! Or just skim those first twenty-six pages and decide for yourself who's relevant.
Then maybe we can have a real conversation.

Grammar lessons from Obelix:

You hypocrites don't have a clue what true integrity looks like. It’s honestly embarrassing. You defend everything so loudly while your own lives are a mess. I swear, I need to sit down with my actual friends—my real ones—and just read through the Bill of Rights together to remind us all what matters. For the glory of the nation

How about this? "Income in American agriculture is failing, and everything suggests that 2003 will be the industry's worst year in a long time. It is particularly the pork producers who are being hit hard due to low pork prices."

😠 Is that how it goes?
